I used to have a old version of kindle, and this one is a great improvement, the resolution is great and the backlight is especially convenient

As you can see above, I am an avid reader and have three Kindles that prove it. I have one by my bedside, one in the living room and one in the car so I am never without one!

Performance is snappy, can adjust text formatting and size so I don’t need my reading glasses, and works great outdoors with no glare. Adjustable light is fantastic for reading in different lighting conditions. Battery lasts a looong time, especially if you have the light turned low. I was reading on a fire tablet before — this is so much more comfortable to read on and totally worth purchasing a separate device.

The backlight makes this a no-brainer option over the base Kindle model. The light is just enough to ease eye strain and make reading comfortable in any position or setting.

I bought this product for my grandmother since she has a hard time reading the small print in books. The Kindle Paperwhite has a large font setting that has made reading much easier for her and the matte screen provides for minimized glare. She can now easily read a book again!

Was difficult to get used to turning pages. I was used to the Apple iBooks. You don’t see the nice sweep of a page. The new page just appears so you kind of double check yourself in the beginning to make sure you didn’t skip a page. It’s getting easier to use the more I use it. Nice to use while reading in the dark.

It took a little while to figure it out, but once I did it is very simple and easy to use! Convenient and great for reading both indoors and outdoors which is exactly what I was looking for.

She doesn't go a day without reading something on there. She says it works wonderful outside, which is exactly what she wanted. She also has a fire, but doesn't work that well for her outside.

A great ebook reader which is easy to read in sunlight and can be dimmed right down at night so it doesn't disturb my wife. Top menu can be a bit confusing but on the whole all user friendly.

I've had Kindles before, but they always lacked something that made them practical. One didn't have touch, another didn't have a light, etc. I decided after years of not having one to give a kindle another chance. This one is perfect!! It's lite, it's relatively fast, the back light works great, it's easy to read, etc. I've read 5 times as many books on it than I had on all the other combined. Best purchase I've made in years.

I love reading on the Kindle paper white. The light source is perfect for both indoor and outdoor. I love being able to quickly order books, and the dictionary is helpful.

Purchased for my wife and she loves it. Definitely buy this model or higher as it has a backlight which will allow for it to be read in bed without another light source.

My low tech husband loves this reader. He can read in the sun or shade, daylight or darkness. Stores thousands of books without having to find room for them in our house.

This kindle is much better than the original version. The back light makes it easy to reader in low light.

Considering how many books you can store, the ease of purchasing books, the slim easy-to-commute size and weight of this product, I can't imagine NOT having one of these! They are simply great!

I purchased this Kindle because I had one of the old ones and I was unable to read it in the dark. This new one solves that problem. My only complaint is that if does not have the hand feel that my old one had, but I had purchased a cover for it and it felt like a book. I probably will get a cover for this one which will solve that problem.
