Lives up to all the positive comments that I found online. I have not encountered any of the negative issues mentioned in the reviews.

But, this isn't a bad substitute. The print and light are easily adjustable. It's small and lightweight, easy to carry and holds a charge for a week or so. At the font size I use it takes 2 to 3 kindle page turns to equal 1 page turn of a book and thus I think I would prefer a larger screen. Although it's touted as better for the eyes than reading using the kindle app on a tablet, I really don't think that is the case for me. For me a tablet is just as usable although heavier and less convenient. Overall , for the price, the pros outweigh the cons and I would recommend it.

Bought this for my husband. He loves that it is so lightweight and has the built in light.

Being 65 it is sometimes very hard to read for long periods of time. There is no eye strain and I enjoy reading again.

I also have a Nook but a ton of glare. I can read my Kindle Paper White anywhere! Love it.

Just received a Kindle as a gift. I previously had the Nook generation 1 and was fine with it. I have been pleasantly suprised at how easy it is to use this Kindle. It is so responsive, and purchasing is simple and fast. I love that I can read out in the sun and will come in handy next week on the beach.

Bought as a gift for my wife, she loves it, can't put it down! Battery life seems good as advertised, so far at least.

After years of not reading books, after the Kindle I read daily, the adjustable type size is a big help for old folks like myself :)

Love the device, especially to read in the dark without disturbing my wife with the lights.

This is the perfect size, weight, and feel for an e-reader. It works great with purchases and simplified library lending. I've owned many (all?) versions of the Nook, which is a great e-reader and excels in many aspects, but--sadly--Barnes & Noble cannot keep up with the marketing juggernaught of Amazon.

Kindle paper white is a wonderful device for book lovers. Good for the eyes with a huge data & very sleek in looks.

Paperwhite is so easy to use. I get free books from Book Bub and download into the kindle. I make categories, too!

The Kindle Paperwhite has almost made my tablet obsolete. I read a lot and I was reading most of the books on a tablet. It was difficult to read outdoors even with a very good tablet. The Paperwhite is so easy to read anywhere in the the brightest of sunlight. I could not possibly put a higher recommendation on this product.
