So far so good, I enjoy the Kindle. It’s light and easy to read, especially at night!

I had a previous model, one with buttons around the case, not the screen itself. The screen on the one I purchased is brighter, slightly clearer, and the touch screen is far easier to navigate. Well worth purchase price if you want to read without the bulk of a book. Different fonts and word spacing is great, something that will never be available on book. I gave the nook a try but did not like it, the back light was terrible.

The Kindle is easy to use, has a bright back light and travels conveniently in a coat pocket.

She loves her kindle and reads it every night. I am Looking forward to seeing her face when she opens this in a couple weeks - better screen and WiFi that works. The old one lost WiFi connection in an update or something but works with USB, its about 4 years old. Even with those issues she loves the old one. So this one is going to be spectacularly awesome and the new screen and features are gonna be so appreciated....

I've found that I'm reading much more than I used to. I personally love a "real" book and didn't think I'd be really happy with an e-reader. What I've found is that it's so much easier to bring a book collection to work and read during breaks, as well as being able to read at night in bed without disturbing my wife. The backlight is a must, and makes it worth the extra price over the base model.

Upgraded from a no light Kindle where the case had a built in light. The subtlety of the light of this Kindle is perfect. I still think the screen on all Kindles have weird navigation and respond to touch a bit slowly. Not worth paying full price, but anything twenty dollars or more off, it's a good deal.

I have 2 my other paperwhite is a first generation and didn't hold up so well after the update. This one is great it's quick and brighter. I love the weight on it, doesn't seem flimsy. I got it for $80 will my discount, so it was a steal!! I love to read, I go through 4 to 5 books a week at the most!! I will be sure to put this thing through it, but I know it will be able to handle it!! Maybe next time I'll do the oasis!!

The Paperwhite is a decent enough product for someone wanting an eInk screen. I don't understand some of the lack of customization options, even on what seems to be simple things. Like why can't I see the TIME in the status bar? Why can't I customize the "click zones". Also, contrary to Amazon's claims, my PC app does NOT sync the documents that I emailed to the device (the Android App does, though). I also see their ads when the device is off and starts. If they gave me the ability to save those recommendations (as opposed to "read now"), I might have checked a couple of them out by now. Still, for the money, it gets the job done and helps keep my eyes from getting as tired as they did when I just used my phone to read.

Bought this when we thought we'd lost our older version Paperwhite, but was unhappy to find that active content is not available in the new version. Miss our daily sudoku! Would not have purchased if we had known. Otherwise, it is fine for reading. Luckily we found our old Kindle and returned this one.
