While I did own this Kindle edition, it was broken accidentally. If you are using this device and are happy with it, good. I am now using the latest Paperwhite edition. I think that this version(the most recent OS and updates) is the best of the paperwhite line. A few issues; 1. I don't know why I have to go online to transfer a book I finished to add it to a collection. The book is already on my device! 2. If you buy more than 3 books, you will only see 3 max on your homepage. Hence, you have to write down your purchases. So you remember all that you bought and then have to search for them. In the very 1st Kindle, all your recent purchases were listed after your collections and they stayed there until you transferred them into a collection. I would like very much, if Kindle reinstated this function. It would eliminate these issues and would greatly enhance the users' experience and enjoyment. Finally, my last issue; I prefer a page number and % read. While, some might like a location number or how many minutes left in the chapter and time to finish the book, I protest. No one can know how long a person will read on any occasion. Yes, I suspect that an algorithm is used to determine your reading speed, however, what about an interruption or you decide to stop reading for that day. I think that the page number and percent read should be the first priority. Having said my piece, I hope that the programmers implement my suggestions. All in all, as a serious reader( on average a book a week, some take less time others more), my home is much less crowded. Can you imagine how many books I had prior to kindle. In the final analysis, IT IS A GREAT DEVICE! Last request. Please, reinstate the suggestions I have requested. Thank You.

Unbelievable! Everyone should get one! I wasn't sure if use it, but I do all of the time.

I had an older kindle with a side light, and when the battery died in the light, I could not read at night. This paper white has great screen clarity in any light. To top it off, it is much smaller. It also has touch screen instead of those tiny keypad buttons. Best upgrade I have made in a long time.

Whether you're a bookworm or a casual reader, the Kindle Paperwhite is a great way to read and discover new and interesting books. Admittedly, I only read infrequently since purchasing my Kindle. I absolutely love the size and abilities of the Kindle and have been reading 4-5 books per month since purchasing it. Highly recommended!

As a travelling salesman, I spend a lot of time on planes, trains, and buses -meaning I have a lot of free time to read. It's really good quality as it has lasted me almost a year which is a new record for electronic devices for me. I would definitely recommend this because it's simple to use, it is lightweight, and durable.

It is very convenient while working out, traveling and stuff. The mic is at the right location and it is good to answer calls as well. I have connected it to my iPhone and use it to listen to music and take calls. The best part is even if you don't want to plug it in your ears, you can leave it hanging around your neck!

I love the Kindle Paperwhite. I have a Kindle reader without paperwhite and love it. A friend has the paperwhite and recommended it. I purchased it before a trip to the beach and love it. I could read my other Kindle in the sun but not in low light. The paperwhite is great in both situations. I would highly recommend this product.

Love the battery life & it's light to hold. Love!!

I've used a Kindle fire for years and love it but wanted something more light weight to use specifically for reading books. The Paperwhite is very light weight and it's easy to use. The touch screen is not always as responsive as I'd like it to be when on the home screen or managing your library, but once you've opened a book, it's easy on the eyes and page turning is very responsive. I'm glad I have this option for reading as it's much better than reading on the Fire. If you want a full tablet, get a Fire but it you just want to read, the Paperwhite is great.

My 92 year old Mom can’t see very well and also has to be very easy to work. The paper white is both for her. The light and being able to adjust the words is great for her. I had to get rid of the ads that were on it because that was so confusing. That is definitely a minus for the paperwhite.

This is my first Paperwhite and I love it. I've had a kindle keyboard (loved it), kindle fire (was okay), kindle fire HD (good for a tablet) but i just love a good ol' eReader for reading. Nothing else will do and this Paperwhite is perfect to read in dark and bright situations. PLUS....The battery last FOREVER!!

For the money this is the best e-reader out there. Amazon has two models that are higher end (one of which is already retired). But I feel like for the money this all you need. It's the mid-tier model and worth the extra money over the standard model Kindle.

Very easy to use and can be read in direct sunlight

I purchased this reader for my wife who is constantly reading. My wife currently has a Kindle Fire HD 7" which she loves, but it is not the best for reading poolside where there is a lot of sunlight. I wanted to get her something that was easier to read in direct sunlight so she could enjoy her relaxing time even more.
