I am an avid reader and have always leaned towards Nooks since I prefer B&N over Amazon. My local library has started using the Libby platform for digital book borrowing and the easiest way to read them is in the Libby app or on a Kindle. On top of that, I travel often since I am a destination photographer so I really wanted something small, lightweight and waterproof. This checks all those boxes for me! It fits into all of my purses, big or small. It is truly light as a feather. The sage green is super pretty and the soft feel of the backing is easy to grip. It is easy to adjust the lighting and add books from the Libby app. PROS -Sage color -Lightweight -Size -Glare-free screen -Battery Life (I read at least an hour every day and only put it in lock/sleep mode rather than shutting it all the way off. Only needs a charge every week or two! -Storage CONS -B&W (loved my nook color. Didn’t think I’d mind the BW but I really do judge books by their cover haha) -Lock/unlock button is on the bottom. I wish it was on the top right. I have been using this for weeks and still reach up there to put it to sleep. I rest the bottom of it on things when reading usually and thankfully haven’t hit the lock button while reading. -Only includes the charging cord, not the plugin. So annoying. So stupid. Thankfully it doesn’t need a charge every day so I just swap it out with my Apple Watch cord when it needs a charge. -Lack of covers/cases. I hated all of the ones I saw online (and I searched for days. I just wanted something sleek and preferably white/cream/neutral but no luck. I have no case or screen protector on it and don’t feel it truly needs one like an iPad does. -Can’t transfer Nook books to Kindle. -Would be nice to select a genre for the ads so I can get promotions that actually apply to what I read haha. (Side note—the ads are only when your Kindle is locked so they are not bothersome at all. They’re like a screensaver.) -Pretty slow/laggy. For how expensive it is, it should have a more responsive screen. For instance, it takes more effort than it should to scroll/tap/highlight/etc. Sometimes I have to tap something like “add to list” five times before it responds. Makes highlighting sections a challenge as well. -Should be half the cost, IMO. Overall, I highly recommend it. I plan on purchasing one for each of my parents for Christmas and possibly my husband as well!

I had my first Kindle for more than 10 years, so I was excited to buy a new one, and it this version did not disappoint. I especially like it for reading at the pool, where iPads do not allow for viewing in bright light. Charge holds longer than older model, as advertised, and size is perfect for carrying in a purse or beach bag. Sparkly pink cover fits perfectly and shines like crazy in the sun.

This is a great tablet for reading. It is lightweight, thin and very comfortable to hold while reading. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely purchase it again.

After using my iPad for years to read ebooks, I'm glad I finally bought this Kindle Paperwhite. The matte screen is so much easier on my eyes than the shiny glare of the iPad or my phone. I also like the size of the Kindle now that I'm used to it. Initially, I thought it would be bigger, but it's about the size of a paperback book - just a little wider. I appreciate being able to use the bookmarking feature to quickly find sections I want to re-read or share with others. It also provides a nice search function (handy for when you can't recall where a character first entered the story) and a dictionary when you don't know a word. My only gripe is the pages take a smidge longer to load than I expected. It's not long, but it does take a little getting used to. Finally, I'm glad I bought it from BestBuy because I got Rewards points for it - and they matched the Amazon price.

Love my Kindle. A little tricky for me to get the menu when I finished my book but otherwise it is great!! For me, I love to read but will not read a book again so buying books becomes annoying to store, move, etc. this is the best load it up before you travel, long battery life and very comfortable to hold while reading.

Love it. Perfect for reading in the pool worry free on your float. The fact that this is water proof was THE deciding factor for me. Good batterie life. Just like reading a paper book with no glare. No complaints here.

Love it!! I can now read all my books and not be interrupted with email, message, and other pop ups on my device. I love reading ebooks, and up until purchasing this I was reading on my iPad, but popups would constantly distract me. Now I can focus on my reading. Also love how portable it is, I can slip into easily into any bag, and the battery lasts a lot longer than my iPad. Great little companion.

i haven't read a book for pleasure since i was in high school (im a college grad now.) i bought this and have finished 8 books in 2 weeks! it's so lightweight, the charge lasts FOREVER (like a week - week and a half without charging) and i can't go anywhere without taking it with me. its easy to clean with a cloth, and i feel like i dont need a screen protector or case on it since its just rubber and plastic. download the libby app and use your library card to get free books (i don't have kindle unlimited or anything but why pay for books when the library is free????) highly recommend!

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend so I haven’t used it personally but she has gushed about it seen getting it. First, if you put it in airplane mode, the battery will last forever on a single charge. The backlight is bright enough to read in the dark without being an eye strain but still works well in directly sunlight. The touch screen is all flush so there’s no weird bezel to fit over. Super portable size and the memory space even on the small one is good for more books than she’ll read in a year.

I don't need another one, but I want to buy another one. That's how good this thing is. I've got one that's almost half a decade old and I have nothing to complain about. My wife just bought one and we just love them. They're water resistant (proof-ish). Work great at night. I use mine to stave off insomnia as I'll wake up in the middle of the night, read and put myself back to sleep. I have nothing bad to stay about this thing. Perfect companion for the car.

My wife loves her new kindle. She likes being able to use it at night and also at the beach. It’s very light and easy to hold. A great product.

It is lightweight and easy to hold. If you are not sure if you want to give up holding a book, then buy the this kindle because it is like holding a book.
