Honestly the only thing "kids" about this is the case. Interface is standard kindle UI. Honestly she loved the case since she's a beach nut lol. Great product!

This is a high quality kindle reader (black and white only) that has great looking text and smooth page turning. Pretty easy to setup, though the added steps of making an account for your kiddo were a bit cumbersome. Once that is done it works great, and comes with six months of kindle unlimited, which has a great selection of books for both kids and young adults. Got this for my 15 year old daughter and she loves it, though the cover is a bit cutesy for her.

The device is quick, smooth, and after a brief learning curve logical and easy to use. Will definitely get another one.

My only problem, there are ads. And Amazon wants to charge to remove them. You are better off paying more for an ad free kindle and letting your kid read on that.
