Used in a new gaming build. Best value to performance ratio. Unless you are a power user such as content creator or fps obsessed, this processor coupled with a decent graphics card and 8+ gigs of fast memory is all you need. Put it in an Asus B450 ROG board. Ryzen 5 was recognized right out of box but still upgraded to latest bios. I'm am using a better air cooler than the included Spire. Great purchase.

Fantastic processor, big step up for gaming from the first- and second-gen Ryzen CPUs. Handles 144Hz games without breaking a sweat, if your graphics card can keep up. 6 fast cores and 12 threads at $200 is pretty awesome.

I have this installed in a MSI B450 Tomahawk and paired with a MSI 2070 Super. Fully capable of doing 1080P gaming at high fps and ultra settings. More so at 1440P and 4k with the right gpu installed. This one has less cores then the Ryzen 2700 from a year prior, but still beats it in raw power, and is currently the go to for someone wanting to do a $1000-1200 gaming/media build.

I had to return the product, but not because of anything wrong with the item. I had changed my mind on the purchase. From what I have heard and read, the product is great and if I do decide that I need this product in the future, I'll definitely go with this model.

This was a good bang-for-buck option at the time I purchased it - check the benchmarks. Eliminated the CPU bottleneck I had so that I'm not able to play VR titles. The included heat sink and fan was the screw-down type that required I remove the clamp supports on my mainboard - no biggie, but one extra step and slightly less convenient to install as I had to tack off the back panel to reach the underside of the board. Normally I'd have that off to route cabling anyway, but this was a rebuild in an existing case. Said fan is a little on the noisy side as you can hear turbulence in the fan blades, but acceptable.

This is my first computer build and I chose the Ryzen 5 3600. I don’t know much about what each part does seperately, but paired with my gpu its running everything very smoothly. The box came very well packaged and arrived a day early, so needless to say I’m very satisfied!

I bought this for a new PC build and was very satisfied. With the crazy PC part market, Best Buy offers consistently reasonable prices. While this comes with a wraith cooler, I chose to buy a cooler master hyper 212 evo and have been getting very reasonable temps. If you stick with the stock cooler, you may see high idle and load temps by design.
