After doing some research, this is definitely the best-valued, best-performance CPU on the market right now. Not just for gaming but also for productivity, this CPU is the best you can get for under $200 right now. The stock CPU cooler that comes with it is actually great for a stock cooler.

Best budget CPU on the market aside the 5000 series which is hard to get at the moment. Easy to install and easily overclocked on the stock fan to 4.3ghz. I still prefer to game on i5-9600k but this is no slouch either when gaming and content creating in the background!

This is an amazing cpu for the price to performance. I highly recommend using this with a 1660 super graphics card both of them together will give u over 100-200 fps easily on cod warzone, rocket league, rainbow, cs-go, valorant, and ARK amazing stuff.

For my newest custom computer build, I chose to base it around this processor. The 6 core/12 thread layout makes it more viable for video editing and other intensive CPU tasks, while the cost makes it viable for gaming builds paired with a decent graphics card. It is fairly quiet and cool at stock speeds, I do not overclock. One thing to note is if you use the stock cooler with the pre-applied thermal paste, note that the compound is thicker than what I have seen on past coolers. If you do intend to switch out the cooler later, make sure to run the processor for some time to warm up the compound, and exercise caution with removing the cooler. The processor can stick to the cooler, making it very difficult to remove.

A decent budget CPU for a budget build today. Hard to find them in stock surprisingly, but for the 200 dollar value it's pretty decent value. Good since you can use with all the older motherboards now, most with BIOS already flashed to support it.

well i had a option for this one or the 5600x but i choose this one because i plan on building a pc for my nephew and also i will just upgrade to it but now my 5500xt is too weak lol now i need a upgrade to get better frames and the only difference this made was a 5 to 10 frame boost. overall i think its good for a start now its the gpu and thats all but the cpu has this weird tick buzzing sound coming from the cpu its weird it stops but sometimes begins again i kept on trying to figure out what is doing the noise and yes the fan is noisy but its all fine for me also i messed up on the cpu fan installation and keeps ramping up the fan because it goes 72 to 80 now i unscrewed and dubble checked it was on and i tighten with the x pattern the it was leveled and works perfect 42 to 45 when in use it jumps to 50 to 60 and you can feel the heat

Solid CPU. Does a great job playing the latest AAA titles. Also, can handle multitasking easily. Video editing in Adobe Premiere is also seem less and renders are quick. Great CPU for the price.

Initially I was considering getting a 3900 since I primarily work in the design field (Game Design, 3d Modeling, Graphic editing, etc.) I (obviously) know that the 3900 would have been more beneficial for LARGE scale projects, but the time shaved off of smaller ones made me really have to sit and ponder the two of these CPU's for a while. I finally concluded to get the 3600, (came from a 2600) and honestly am pretty impressed. There's an obvious jump in performance from the 2600 to the 3600 and once PBO was disabled, and I set my manual overclock the temps dropped (because I was able to drop the voltage to 1.325v) and the CPU runs like a dream without any hitches whatsoever. My 3600 is cooled by a Deepcool Assassin III which is THE best air cooler on the market, and my temps rarely EVER exceed 55c unless I'm working on something pretty intense, or running some sort of benchmark/stress test to ensure overclocking stability.

Bang for the buck in spades. Performance is through the roof without overclocking and temp is maintaining around 70c without the fan needing to spin up to a noise level that you can detect. Absolutely excellent CPU and the include fan isn't cow manure like what is included with Intel chips. Well worth the money. If you are concerned about bottlenecking your system with a Ryzen 5 rather than a Ryzen 7, I was running Horizion Zero Dawn max settings and getting 80 fps while also having both chrome and Firefox open with multiple tabs and playing a 1080p 60 fps music video in the background. CPU usage was around 80%. Temp didn't exceed 70 deg. C. As with all CPUs, I recommend you know what you are doing for the install or get a friend to help. If you do that part wrong, you can damage your chip or improperly set the cooler which would lead to poor performance due to overheating.

Like everyone I did not know if it would work in my Gigabyte AB350M-DS3H-CF mother board , but after all the bios updates and fresh install of windows it is working great on a $60 board for me. It's fast without the need of overclocking and worth the upgrade if you already had a board like me as I invested early in gen 1 Ryzen and need to kill a weekend . My only down side is Best Buy not having them July 7 on shelves as I now buy there with Price Match and I would really like to see them more like Micro Center as we a long ways from one in N.C.

performs really well and if your into overclocking your chip until hell is colder than the die under that heat spreader this cpu is very receptive to heat and i only got it to thermal throttle after it hit like 90c at almost 5.3ghz

Awesome upgrade from my i5 6th gen. More than sufficient for gaming and any other task you want to do. I don’t see a real reason to go hard on a better CPU. Cooler that comes with it is okay. It does its job.

This is the "it" processor to to with presently and I have seen why. I'm a Mac user so have little knowledge of AMD processors but heard the buzz about the Ryzen series so when I decided to build my own computer I decided to go with Ryzen 5. Well worth it. I'd say it's comparable to an Intel i5. It's great for my uses and seems capable of more. I've tried to stress it out and so far no luck. I like the cooling system included with it seems to work well and it catches the eye in my build. No one buys a processor on aesthetics so I'll say that it's performance is more than I needed, which is great when planning in the future. This is a chip that you can bank on for a few years.

Mid-step processor while waiting on the 5000 series. Excellent value for money, a great processor at a better price. Mine overclocks to 4.4Ghz across all cores without issue. Would suggest this over the added cost of an X or XT version.

Bought this to use in a Gaming PC Build. Performance is great for the price of the CPU comparted to Intel CPUs. Comes included with a CPU fan. With the stock fan my temperatures in a NZXT H510 Elite case are around 70 with normal workload and gaming.

A good choice. I don't want to call it for a budget build its faster than that but it is reasonably priced. You can always go with the Ryzen 7 or 9. If this is good more is better. I'm happy with it.

Amazing Value for the price. Super good for video rendering and gaming. Overclocking is a breeze and I managed to get 4.4 GHz out of mine. Highly recommend the budget to midrange systems until a cheaper ryzen 5600x comes out.
