All around happy with this purchase. It seems to be the best processor for the price. I would recommend pairing with an x570 motherboard though because a b450 has a few issues with gen 3 ryzen.

6 cores 12 threads at 4.1 gbz for $200??? If we were back in 2016 the same setup would be $500 (Intel..) if you're looking for a mid tier budget gaming PC and you don't have this 3600 or the ryzen 5 1600 in your system, you're crazy.

This is the best medium budget gaming CPU. I would not recommend this enough for anyone that is looking for a fast processor without breaking the bank. Assuming that you do not use it for any heavy intensive cad or video editing software. It breezing through simple tasks such as web surfing, spread sheets, media play back and can handle most games. Used this to help build a computer for my brother and he is extremely pleased with it. He was using an older Intel i5 6500 processor and this thing dances around his older processor. We did not overclock, but I am assuming that it can. In the end I could not be any more happier with it. Thanks AMD, keep your foot on the gas and keep up the good work with building fast budget CPUs.

I won't blame AMD for not getting promo codes, that was a best buy thing and was remidied fairly easily. I did some studying for this one, more than I did when I looked for a car and found that this has the best price to performance on a budget. I paired this up with the Asus B-450 f Mobo and 3,000 MHz Corsair vengeance DDR4 ram since I really don't care about RGB and it doesn't add any performance to the system. It did take a bit of tinkering with due to the motherboard having different settings turned off from factory but I do have to say that this is a beast when it comes to gaming or even amateur pro applications. I would recommend doing a bit of tinkering with the overclocking since I haven't seen the full potential of the CPU but I am going to recommend getting a aio for it if you plan on doing so.

AMD Ryzen decimates Intel Core i-anything

The 7nm process AMD is using for the Ryzen series decimates intel's greatest hopes and dreams of production. The minimal heat it generates from consuming less power lets Ryzen boost to higher clock speeds under load. These processors come very well optimized out of the box and do not need overclocking. Yet... I still felt the need to push mine to 4.4GHz on all 6 cores since it was boosting to only 4.05GHz. I have a 240mm Corsair AIO cooler on it and even overclocked, the heaviest workloads only peak at a chilly 68C. These are great processors and even 10th-gen intel's can't compete. They have some serious catching up to do. If you are a content creator.. spring for the 3900x or 3950x to get the extra cores/threads, but if you are a gamer... this chip is all you'll need.

I ended up returning the Ryzen 5 to purchase the Ryzen 7 instead. However, this is a good processor, with plenty of power, at a very reasonable price point.

This processor is amazing, although I running it with a MSI B350 MBO, it is awesome. Perfect combination for price performance. Ryzen 5 3600 + Rx 580 (Gb) most of esports at 144 hz. Thumbs up!

Solid CPU for any mid range gaming PC. If you can find it $75 to $100 less than a 5600X it might still be a decent option. Great option to pair with a 6600XT or 3060 TI.

Intel needed a kick in the pants and AMD has finally finished tying their boots. The 3rd gen Ryzen cpus are outstanding performance per dollar chips and the 3600 is the sweet spot for most users.
