I was torn, been an Intel guy for years, however when you compare The I7 9700k to this, yes the Intel is better, however it's 40-60 dollars more plus the price of the cooler And the Ryzen 3700X is not that far behind, plus 65 watt vr 125watt It's a better choice, better value and the proformance is 90% and 20%-25% less $. Its a better CPU for my needs.

There’s a reason this is the number 1 processor on 3D mark as of this review. Great performance for the price. Eight cores is great for future proofing your pc and a great stock boost algorithm means you don’t need to do much to unlock the potential. Throw in a free cooler and it’s an incredible value.

I was looking of the Ryzen 9, but alas it is not available anywhere other than scalpers on ebay. I'd rather get the real deal from Best Buy at the recommended price. So instead I got this Ryzen 7 and man does it do the job right! This was able to get my video editing rig to be top notch. Match it with an x570 motherboard for best performance.

I got very good performance with the eight cores, 4k editing comes easy. 200+ frames with titan rtx on shadow of the tomb raider ultrawide 3k. best value cpu, the only reason to go for a higher core count processor is if you were to edit 8k red footage or the likes.

You can't go wrong with Ryzen. This runs all the games I play with ease. The value can't be beat considering you can still run AM4 mobos, and this will work perfectly with them. It's totally worth the price

I highly recommend this product. It is comparable, if not faster, than many of its competitors, but priced at a very reasonable level. Comes with a cool LED cooling fan that has been working perfectly, even under load.

been using it for about 2 months now. After being a diehard Intel person for the last several years. I decided to try this new fangled Ryzen cpu. I am not disappointed at all. Top notch performance and with the right cooler is just as good if not a bit better than my old I7 cpu.

For the current pricing, this CPU is a great value for pretty nice performance. If you absolutely need the best performance, it’s probably a better idea to wait for the Zen 3 chips at the end of the year. For now however, this is one of the better choices on the market, especially when on sale.

So i got a new x570 mobo and slapped this puppy in there. Unbeknownst to me my motherboard has core boost overdrive and it automatically boosted my cpu to 4.2 ghz i didnt pay attention because i just pluged it in. Dumb me tried to over clock it not knowing it was overclocked already. Watched my temps skyrocket and im thinking oh no theres something wrong. I re-applied some better thermal paste adjusted my fan curve everything and im thinking either the stock cooler is shot or the cpu is bad. After a few hours i found a reddit thread that said oh yeah just turn this off on the bios. I looked to ryzen master and it said my cpu was clocked in at 4.2ghz not 3.6 as it is stock. So this whole time ive been dreading overheating my cpu when i was already boosted near to its max. Good product overall. We will see if it gets better once i throw my new noctua cooler on it

Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600AF, which I purchased a few months ago at the steal price of $85. Overall, the Ryzen 1600AF performed like a champ, especially when overclocked from the base of 3.2 to 3.9, when paired with my GTX 1060 with 1080p gaming on most games. Decided to to opt for a RTX 2070 super with my 1600A, but the cpu was bottlenecking the gpu’s performance. I upgraded the cpu to this 3700x and performance improved especially with games that utilize HDR. While the packed in cooler is nice, I preferred in using a NZXT Kraken AIO, which maintains the CPU’s temperatures between 40 degrees to 60 degrees when gaming. Overall, I am very content with the 3700x. It is pricey at over $300+ but the 3700x gives you the best bang for your buck.

This is a great value cpu. Great for gaming and great for video editing though for 4k video editing maybe the 3900X would be a better choice. I have 2 builds and 2 of these cpu's because of the performance to value ratio.

With Intel removing hyperthreading from the i7 CPUs, getting this part with 8 cores and 16 threads is an incredible value. I replaced an Intel i7 6700K and for data processing I have definitely noticed a difference. Having the extra cores has allowed me to splurge on memory and run lots of VMs. It's really cool that Best Buy sells these types of parts nowadays. My only hang-up was that I wasn't able to get a board with the x570 chipset so I had to buy an x470 board (Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero) and flash it so it could boot with the Ryzen 3 CPU. It was a little bit of a hassle (required having another computer to download the new BIOS onto a flash drive) but not the end of the world.

Good CPU and happy to see the Cooler it comes with is capable of keeping this cool under load for longer periods of time. I have turned on the eco mode for this CPU and happy with the results, This CPU has a eco option in bios, which was nice to see since the weaker models in the ryzen line appear to not have this option. I did not have any issues and the preapplied thermal paste works fine and simplified the installation, I will say the cooler does feel sketchy to put on compared to aftermarkets Ive used before so make sure you watch a youtube how to so you are comfortable with the process, nothing too complicated. This CPU would be a bit overkill for general use, but for heavy CPU work, this does the job well! because of the newer generation being released, this is good value, Overall happy with the purchase

Everything runs smoothly and quickly, or as quick as my internet will allow. A bit of a trick to get the fan on, also, the fan has thermal paste already on it. Evenly distributed and such, dont go putting anymore on unless you mess it up or something.

Holy cow, this is an upgrade. Will play any game on max settings. You'll really only need a better CPU if you're doing some crazy CPU heavy tasks like data processing. Great thermals mean it doesn't need a crazy cooler, the stock one works great, even with overclocking.

THE GOOD It came with a heatsink and fan. I didn't think I would like or care for the RGBs, but I confess, I do. Setup was easy. It already had thermal past on the heatsink, but I bought extra... just didn't use it. Wanted to see the temps and such. They are good right now. THE BAD The only negative I have, and this is more a general negative than one about my specific chip, is the lack of video integration. I have a GPU and another on the way, but I was surprised to learn the 3rd Gen Ryzen doesn't have any graphics capability like 1st & 2nd. It doesn't take any of the workload off the GPU while gaming. Also, if for some reason my GPU goes out, I will be screwed until replaced. Unlike with my old i7 3770k. OVERALL I am happy with this purchase. I do not notice any speed increases over my old 3770k with 16GB RAM, but I didn't expect to. That was still a very decent setup and would probably have lasted another 5+ years. I just anted an upgrade. :)

Extremely fast cpu, the AMD fan looks cool and way easier to install than buying a separate fan. Also it's super quiet. Absolutely no need to OC the CPU, it boosts to 4400 easy on its own.

One of the best processors I have ever used is this. I am soon to pair this with the RTX 3060 Ti and I am sure it will make an excellent combo. This is very fast and has amazing value. I love it how it comes with a fully customizable RGB wraith prism cooler.

This thing is great for what I use it for! Gaming A++, video rendering so-so. Just make sure to run the stats to see if it'll suit your needs. As a product, it runs smooth and I had no issues installing it. Overclocking is also smooth in it's transitions.
