Great CPU, just really hot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 5700X bit the dust a bit before I purchased this, and so far it works great! Although I have a couple things to bring up. This CPU is *HOT*, like really hot. If you plan on using this for gaming, or streaming, you’re gonna need an AIO cooler to keep the temps in check. The Arctic air cooler I had didnt last long before the cpu reached 92 Celcius. If you need a budget option, I’d recommend DeepCool’s LS series. The 520 works well, and it fits in most mid-tower cases. Arctic has their own as well, although I prefer the DeepCool fans. Corsair has one too, though it’s pricey. Trust me, it’s worth it to have the fastest AM4 CPU currently available.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome 8 core 16 thread cpu. Pretty solid and still holds up right now in 2023 against ryzen 7000 series. And the best part it was knly 249. Couldnt recommend it more for people who want great performance for the next few years.

STILL a great choice!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up for $200 and that's an absolutely insane price for this - it's incredibly good and has no issues keeping up with all tasks you throw at it. Skip the AM5 for now and get this if budget is a concern, you won't regret it.

Amazing performance, get a good cooler though
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're going through the reviews looking for an answer if it's normal that this processor hits 80-90 degrees all the time, especially when you're gaming and idles in the 70s, it is. It freaked me out as well, at first, since I was actually using an older 240 AIO from Thermaltake but I was assured by all the reviews online that this is actually a very hot processor. It is rated to run in the 90s normally. I ended up buying the CORSAIR - iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX CPU Cooler and I've been idling around the 40's ever since and about 65-75 when I'm gaming. I do a lot of work on the PC besides gaming so this 8 core PC suited my needs better but if you ask me, if it's purely for gaming, go with the 5600X.

Little Monster
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from an AMD 3600 (it was a place holder until the 5000 series came out). I was able to get lucky a few weeks ago to nab this model. I was intending to get an 8 or 12 core for video rendering and gaming. This 5800X has lowered my rendering times by a 3rd. It does get much warmer with the 8 cores. I had to buy 3000 rpm cpu fans (push-pull) to keep the CPU temp around 85C when using Handbrake with all cores maxed out at about 4.5+Ghz on all of them. (it is a cooler master 212 Black edition letting it climb to 90C-92C). I will need to consider liquid cooling when I can get my hands on a 6800xt or a RTX3080 card and rework the entire computer at once along with a upgraded PSU. I am very happy with this CPU along with my X570 motherboard and all the BIOS and AMD driver updates...it's been a great experience with this little monster... If you get it...plan on cooling it with LC. The price per core ratio is a bit much but it will be a great CPU for anything you throw at it! I was also able to get signed up with AMD rewards to get the free game...when it comes out in another couple months...

Great upgrade from old ryzen 1600
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an r5 1600 so no complaints here. Basically noticed the better performance immediately which was great. Got it on sale in a bundle which very much made this a great value proposition for upgrading

King of the 8 core CPUs.....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently upgraded from a Z390 9900k to a x570 5800x. 8/16 for 8/16, performance gains across the board with modern port assignments to boot and Gen4. Much less power consumption and clock for clock just decimated my old 9900k. Was lucky enough to get a golden chip (CTR cert) hitting 6100+ CB20 right out of the box before any tweaks and curve -25 to -30 across the board. Paired with a 3090 running like a champ with full BAR enabled.

One of the best CPUs Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5900x is near impossible to get and the 5600 doesn’t have the amount of cores I need. I was glad to be able to get this sweet card. It’s expensive and in terms of value isn’t as good as previous Zen 2 but it’s still an amazing powerful card.

Beast of a CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Current Specs: PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold Mobo: ASUS TUF x570 Gaming+Wifi CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x GPU: ASUS TUF RX 5700xt Review: So far, it's been outstanding to see such an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 to such a BEAST of a CPU! Installation: It was quite simple, I only needed to make sure my BI0S was updated to support the CPU, other than that it was pretty much just plug and play. Notes: Please remind yourself that the maximum (officially supported) RAM speed for the Ryzen 7 5800x CPU is 3200MHz. Unfortunately, I'm stuck using 4400MHz RAM, but it automatically slows it down to 2666MHz, so its still compatible, just understand if you want the BEST "0FFICIAL" supported speeds, make sure you get the right RAM! TLDR; This is one great CPU

Beast of a CPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to start with: what a beast of a CPU. For $300 (the price I got it at) it offers far more value than the 5600x at the same or near same price point. Its 8 core and 16 threads has been perfect for all my use cases and does not bottleneck my 3080ti at all.

I knew it was time to upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My AMD Ryzen 5 3600 was starting to show it's age. In some of my newer games. And needed a AM4 socket upgrade. When I saw this Ryzen 7 5800X on sale I knew it was time to upgrade. Plus my cooler from my 3600 works on this. So it saved me money there. And it I does everything I needed and more. For everything I need to do.

Ryzen 5800x great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge improvement over the 3700x. Multitasking and gaming is done without any lag or frame drops now! Streaming is a breeze! Wish I had gotten the 5900x for the extra cores, but at least next gen consoles are 8 cores so it will be enough for the next 3-5 years.

Solid.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy didn't have the best price on this processor, but it was competitive and I didn't want to drive 200 miles round trip to save 70 bucks. They price matched with Amazon, so I ended up getting about 25 dollars back a couple of weeks later. I'm running this as a drop-in replacement on a Gigabyte B550 UD AC motherboard from a CyberPowerPC prebuilt, cooled by a Noctua NH-U12A. I set it to 65W eco mode, Infinity Fabric at 1800 with Corsair 3600 memory, and it runs cooooool. (I don't use the "pea sized drop" method to spread thermal compound. I use a nitrile glove and put an even, thin coat on both the processor and the heatsink. It works for me.) Just a solid processor. Are there faster processors out there? Sure. This is what my local Best Buy had in stock, and it was good, so I went with it. I think it will be a set-it-and-forget-it system for long-term use.

Love me some Ryzen!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ryzen processors. Top of their game right now. This thing performs like you'd expect a Ryzen CPU to perform. The 5800X runs hot tho. I got a 120mm AIO and dropped about 10°C. But with PBO, in Ryzen master this thing runs a stuck and stable 4.8GHz easy. Most games I play never push it up to 80°C. Except for Call Of Duty Warzone/MW/Cold War. Saw a slight fps increase with my 2070 Super. But I believe once I can add a 30 series GPU I'll see significant uplift in FPS. I had a 3600X and didn't really need to upgrade but I was able to save quite a bit of money had I waited until later. But with better performance and the generational improvements, I don't think I'll need another CPU for quite a while.

Ryzen does it again but buy a good CPU cooler.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This CPU has allowed to unbottle neck my gpu which was a 3060 TI, so if you are looking to pair these two I would highly recommend this chip. However, if your budget would allow it, I would ask you to consider to upgrade to the 7000's series of AMD processors. Please keep in mind that will mean a more expensive motherboard, and ram. PS This chip this run extremely hot so you will need either a radiator cooler or a massive cpu cooler such as the NH-D15 (I personally use this cooler and it works perfectly with this chip and any chip that may come out in the future but that tower is MASSIVE.)

Users will need to invest in a compatible third-party cooler for optimal thermal performance. 2. Price (4/5): High-performance comes at a cost, and the Ryzen 7 5800X is priced accordingly. It may not be the best choice for budget-conscious builders. Conclusion: In conclusion, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is a CPU that truly shines in the desktop processor market. While the price may be on the higher side, the performance gains you'll experience more than justify the cost, especially for those who demand the best from their systems. If you're in search of a high-performance CPU that can handle everything from gaming to content creation with ease, the Ryzen 7 5800X is an excellent choice. It represents a significant leap forward in desktop processing power and is sure to satisfy even the most demanding users.
