Great for Gaming at a budget
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Performace for the price. seems like you can get this processor a little easier than the ryzen 9 chips. Great for gaming and if you want to save some money. 5600x might be the sweet spot for gaming tho.

Get it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't run into any problems whatsoever. Amazing power compared to my previous Ryzen 5 3600x. For the sale price I got it at, it was a steal. I've always had AMD processors and have never been disappointed. Would recommend

5800X great processor, and great price at best buy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just a beast of a processor. Replaced a 3900X. Bought the 3900X for the clock speed, didn't need all those cores. Having 5800X with a 6800XT and PCIE 4.0 M.2 SSD, man there is nothing better (at least until there is...). ;) Yeah, you could get it on amazon for maybe $20 less, but there's a few days lead time. If your impatient like me, walk in and buy one. The San Marcos, CA store had at least 8 of them in stock. The store rep that helped me even asked if I needed a cooler and/or thermal paste. I opted to test the Wraith Prism from my 3900X, and was quickly disappointed at the high temps in all scenarios. Returned the next day to get a Corsiar H60 watercooling AIO solution, and extremely pleased to see temps brought down by 10C or more across the board.

Great all around CPU for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This CPU is an excellent choice if you are planning on staying with the AM4 platform a while longer. It performs consistently across the board on everything from gaming to productivity and everything in between. The performance to price ratio is phenomenal.

It's a Monster!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Built a new pc. Went from an Intel i5 8600k to the Ryzen 7 5800X and this thing is a Monster! That's what the kids are saying anyways. HA! More cores...what's not to like about that?!?

Extremely fast!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is extremely fast! I paired this with a 3080Ti and nothing slows it down. Overclocked to 4.5ghz @ 1.265 easy. I haven't pushed it further but I'm sure it can. This is perfect for gaming at 1440p. Don't hesitate and buy it!

Great CPU!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I moved from an i7 to this CPU when my motherboard tanked. I've never had an AMD CPU before so didn't really know what to expect, but it has been fantastic. Mine is overclocked to 4.2 (liquid cooled) and performs flawlessly.

Absolute gam monster when overclocked/under volted
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my 3900X, and boy is it an upgrade! This 5000 series is definitely better for gaming as all of my games are much smoother with noticeably higher framerates. I recommend undervolting at 4.7ghz with Ryzen Master. My voltage is about 1.25V which is far lower than out of the box. If you don't, your temps with be HIIIIGH! With undervolt, my temps hover around 46C while gaming. I use an NZXT Kraken x73 aio for cooling. Without that profile, it would sometimes spike temps faster than the cooling could react and would trigger an overheat restart, so again, highly recommend you dial in a custom overclock. When that's done, it performs beautifully. I stream using OBS while gaming and don't lose any performance (at least nothing percievable). I'm scared to see what AMD comes out with for the next generation.

Great processor if you have patience to tweak
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was feeling defeated on this processor. I Was extremely disappointed in it at first not due to performance but thermals. It was hitting 90c under load and for me that wasn't something I was comfortable with for longevity. I almost returned it but I found a YouTube video explaining why it runs hot and how to fix it. If you follow the video with limiting the power draw on this cpu via Ryzen master in the OS or via your BIOS settings it instantly dropped by about 13-15c under load and only gave up 4% performance on the multicore score about 600pts in cinebench. Single core did go up though. I was getting about 4.8GHZ on single and 4.5 under multicore. Fast forward a few more days as I was waiting parts from the holiday sales. I Did a lot of changes so I am unsure of what impacted it the most. It is now running on the stock AMD factory settings without and tweaking and cinebench performance restored, sitting at 32c idle and 60c during use maxing at about 72 under full load. Here's what I changed Swapped from an MSI 240 mag aio cooler to the cosair h100i capplix elite, swapped from a bronze rated thermaltake 850watt PS, to a 750watt titanium rated seasonic, mounted the new rad with the hoses down instead of up, using 2 of the 3 120mm fans on the front of my case in a push/pull config on the rad, After getting everything else lined up and seeing the temps drop massively I am happy with this processor but depending on your build, it may take a lot of time to get it to where you like it. Hence the 4/5 Instead of 5. It's the most work I have ever had to put in for a simple processor upgrade. Came from a 2700x

The Ryzen 7 5800X cpu is excellent.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Ryzen 7 5800X cpu has worked flawlessly from the first minute of activity. I paired it with the MSI 570X motherboard, a Corsair water cooler. a 2060 graphics card, a 750 watt power supply, and two 16 GB Corsair Vengence Pro memory units. My previous build was one using an Intel i7 9700K cpu. This new Ryzen 7 5800X build surprised me in three ways: 1) there were no problems encountered, 2) the Windows 10 boot-up time was faster by about 30%, and 3) the boot-up times for games such as Witcher 3 was about 30% faster. This is my 15th computer build, and this new build was the most enjoyable. I highly recommend this Ryzen 7 5800X cpu.

Amazing performance for virtually any use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 5800X for an engineering workstation for a client. Paired with a B550 motherboard, 980 Pro SSD, Nvidia P2200 and 32GB of 3600CL16 Trident Z Neo memory, this CPU delivers tremendous performance. Cooled by a Noctua NH-C14S with a second Noctua Industrial fan, AMD PBO2 and a 3rd party power plan that has better thread scheduling for the strongest cores, this CPU was sitting comfortably at 4.8GHZ steadily while going through productivity benchmarks and would only drop down to 4.3GHZ all-core turbo when rendering. Highly recommended!

Excellent product!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first computer build! Bought this for my computer, which I have used for mining. It's been a learning experience as I knew very little about computers, other than how to turn them on on go to the internet and Office. The Best Buy staff recommended this as a top CPU for my RX5700 XT gpu. So far, after more than a month running non-stop (other than a 4-day break) the AMD Ryzen 7 has been rock solid! I've learned a lot since then, first and foremost that I should have just went with a mining rig motherboard, etc. But, when I do go that route I will probably take this out of my computer and use it for a rig.

Second to none
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AMD really hit it out of the park with the 5000 series. No compromises, hands down the best CPU for everything from rendering to gaming. Tip for those of us who really, really like efficiency: if you enable PBO and then set the PPT on this CPU to 90W or so you will lose ~5-10% multithread performance but zero single thread performance. Then if you fiddle with curve optimizer and can do -15 or so you can regain the lost MT performance... while using 2/3 the power. A nice side benefit is lowering the max CPU temperature on full load by over 10°C. Now if only they could produce enough of them to keep them in stock and at a decent price...

Excellent CPU
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This CPU has no issue handling anything I throw at it. I upgraded from a 7th gen Intel i7, so the difference is night and day. Definitely worth the money and is a great choice if you don't need the power/can't find a 5900x.

Impressive CPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazingly impressive performance. Just make sure you get a good cooler, since the Zen 3 CPUs tend to run hotter than Zen 2. The 5600x has better price/performance, in my opinion, but I managed to get this with a 10% discount.

What I wanted
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really wanted the Ryzen 9 5900x but settled for this after doing research and found that the 7 5800x is more then enough if you’re using your pc for gaming only. More then enough threads and cores

Great CPU, but overkill for most games
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CPU is great, though it does get very hot without a proper curve through Curve Optimizer and a good cooler. Paired with a 7900XT, basically all games run at very high FPS with high quality settings at 2K without being too CPU bottlenecked. getting usually more than 120 FPS on games like Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales, The Finals, Warzone 2, etc. If remaining on or upgrading to AM4 platform, better get a 5700x or 5800X3D, if mostly gaming
