An amazing CPU with exceptional performance, if you can get your hands on one. ++ Very strong IPC, over 20% improvements versus Ryzen 3000 series + excellent gaming performance when paired with a high end GPU - runs hotter than its siblings due to it being a full 8-core chiplet, needs beefy cooler - pricing is a tad high, competing with high core count CPUs - needs a BIOS update to work with most motherboards out of the box - availability

Been running this CPU for over a year now and it just performs. Runs all my games on ultra at 1440p paired with my 6900XT no problem. It multitasks like a beast and I can't praise it highly enough

Definitely money well spent, Im glad I have waited for the right time and it’s honestly the best cpu I have ever purchased my whole entire career building PCs. Other reviews may say “it’s only good for gaming” that’s false because it’s the best gaming cpu on the market for AM4 and you can use it for other tasks other than gaming because it works fine just like 5800x.

I decided to upgrade my motherboard and CPU from a 1700x to this 5800x and noticed a decent bump in performance over the older 1700x. Solid CPU at a great value.

An amazing processor! It took a while to obtain but was worth the wait. If you have the money (and opportunity) to buy a 5900x though I would recommend that for the core count. Otherwise this is a solid processor. Out of box performance: amazing, but runs a little hot. I've heard it's normal and still runs up to 4.7GHz on all core. Easily reaches target 4.8 on single core and occasional bumps to 4.85 Recommendation to buyer: take the time to go in bios and turn on PBO2. There are tons of guides online and drastically improves Temps and performance. I got idle Temps down by about 7 degrees and easily passed 5GHz single core

I upgraded from a Ryzen 2700x to the Ryzen 5800x. It is noticeably faster in everything I use. Like others have written, it is a little on the pricier side of things when compared to the 5600x and the 5900x. That aside, you are getting one of the fastest gaming processors available. Note: these processors can get pretty toasty. They are designed to run hotter than the 3000 and 2000 series ryzens. Under a custom water loop with a 360mm radiator and an EKWB on the processor, it hits 76C in cinebench r23.

upgraded my 2700x to this one for the new instruction set and I will never look back. Made my computer run smoother in all applications very happy with the purchase. Bestbuy was great also they matched a cheaper price from another vendor. Thank you for that it was nice to be able to walk into a store and leave with what I wanted. With todays market we can't always do that anymore.

Super fast processor! Loved the cpu even though I had to send it back, which was all on me for thinking I could handle this in an itx air cooled build. ended up getting a 5600x as its a 65w cpu. But, I wish i could have used this as the extra 2 cores would help keep the build more relevant longer. Best Buy has a simple and easy return process. Their pickup system and shipping products system is fast, easy and convenient. They have earned 5 stars too.

I upgraded from an i5 9400f and couldn't be happier with the performance increase. Temps never get above 65c with a kraken 360 aio and usually hover between 59c and 61c under load. If availability wasn't a problem, I would have picked a 5600x as it is a much better value for gaming. $450 is a little much for 8 cores but they still ended up with my money so....

Grabbed this processor on a great sale. Got it for 250 and it's been an absolute beast so far. Coming from a 3rd gen I7 that was struggling with any modern tasks. This is worlds more powerful and got to repurpose a B450F ASUS ROG Strix motherboard with a Bios update that allowed this to work in it no problem. Highly recommended and can't wait to get some water-cooling and do some OCing.
