Awesome CPU! Great for intense gaming paired with a sturdy GPU

I've had this CPU for almost 3 years and it's still a great all-rounder. It's getting to be a bit long-in-the-tooth compared to the newer X3D CPUs in gaming, but if you can find a great deal on it (sub-$200), it's still solid. It does run a bit hot though, so that's something to be aware of (used it with a Noctua NH-U14S and it was fine).

Grabbed this processor on a great sale. Got it for 250 and it's been an absolute beast so far. Coming from a 3rd gen I7 that was struggling with any modern tasks. This is worlds more powerful and got to repurpose a B450F ASUS ROG Strix motherboard with a Bios update that allowed this to work in it no problem. Highly recommended and can't wait to get some water-cooling and do some OCing.

Super fast processor! Loved the cpu even though I had to send it back, which was all on me for thinking I could handle this in an itx air cooled build. ended up getting a 5600x as its a 65w cpu. But, I wish i could have used this as the extra 2 cores would help keep the build more relevant longer. Best Buy has a simple and easy return process. Their pickup system and shipping products system is fast, easy and convenient. They have earned 5 stars too.

Amazing all around, great ability for the price, Would recommend

I upgraded from an i5 9400f and couldn't be happier with the performance increase. Temps never get above 65c with a kraken 360 aio and usually hover between 59c and 61c under load. If availability wasn't a problem, I would have picked a 5600x as it is a much better value for gaming. $450 is a little much for 8 cores but they still ended up with my money so....

I have this paired with 32gb of DDR4 3600 and an RX 580. The boost it gave over my old i5 4690k was huge. My CPU score in 3DMark jumped over 250% which means the IPC of this CPU is over twice as fast as my previous. Yes my GPU is a bit of a bottleneck especially at 1440p, but until the mining craze subsides I can’t really fix that. Using Ryzen Master I got an all core OC to 4.95Ghz just using the auto OC button and it has been stable for weeks. I honestly wanted a 5600x but with limited availability on all CPUs I jumped on this when I saw it was in stock. No regrets, would buy again.

Picked up one of these when I couldn't get a 5900x. I definitely don't regret it. It's very fast even with PBO off, which I did to help keep temps down. It does run a little warm (idle 40 to 50c 60 to 70c gaming and I've had it up to 89.5c running benchmarks) but it just chugs along. Make sure you have a robust cooler. All in all, great CPU just runs warm and price to performance ratio is off.

This does a great job of doing tasks, and it will overclock 4 sets of memory properly, unlike my ryzen 5 5600g

This processor runs great. The only issue with it is that it runs hotter than an average AMD processor. This is due to the chip placement. If you purchase it and are worried about the temps, I recommend undervolting it. How to do that will depend on your motherboard’s manufacturer and bios. Google and Youtube will be your friend to find out how. I run a Corsair Nautilus liquid cooler with mine & I have undervolted it. My idle temps hover around 31c in windows and 35-36c while in the bios.

Outstanding processor. I originally wanted to get a 9 5900-x, and I had some concern this could bottleneck my GPU (RTX 3090). According to Benchmarks, bottlenecks on tests are 1-2% IF present, and I haven’t noticed them. Warzone at max settings with 140-160 FPS in DLSS. Haven’t tried streaming, so don’t know how multitasking will hold up, but otherwise, I don’t think I could ask for better performance out of the PC I put together with this product.

Good Processor for a budget build in 2023. Should probably get the X3D model for gaming, but the price difference did not make it worth it for me. Runs games well as it is. Though undervolting is a must due to thermal theottling even with a high end air cooler. Will probably last a good number of years until Am5 is stable enough to convinve me to upgrade.

Even though this part is somewhat old now I put it in my pc paired with a 9060XT and my performance is peaking

Very powerful cpu. Upgraded from a 2700 ryzen 7. Noticed big difference paired it with a asus x570 motherboard.
