Really happy with my first Ryzen CPU

Really wasn't sure if I should go with Intel or Ryzen, but couldn't be happier with this 5800x. Other than having to flash the BIOS on my x570 prior to use, it has been easy as can be for my first build in a decade. I am only using this for gaming, but so far there isn't anything this processor cannot do! Runs every single new game with ease, and stays decently cool with my AIO. If you can get your hands on one, I highly recommend!

I upgraded my PC from a 2600X (which was a bit of a side-grade from my old i7-3930k. If you have 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen or are looking for a good upgrade from a Pre-2017 intel processor (provided you get a compatible motherboard) this is a good pick. It is, quite frankly outdone in value by the 5600X and 5900X. However, the latter of those is still hard to find at MSRP or lower at the time of writing this review.

I bought this CPU for gaming and it does perform noticeably better than my pervious 3800X. Depending on the game the difference may be up to 20% FPS which is a big increase. Installing was as easy as it can get - update BIOS, remove old CPU, install new one - done! Clock speeds are great. I found it very sensible to make this last upgrade for the AM4 socket. Recommended!

Preforms wonderfully. Easy install. If installing on an older AM4+ board, do not forget to upgrade your mobo bios. Upgrading from a Ryzen 1700X increased my frames 20+ and allowed me to run on epic/maxed settings for most games. GPU is a 2080 (not TI) and have 32 GB RAM on a SSD.

Sick chip, i want the 9 now. But the 7 does the job and dies it well. Im still messing with the overclocking but even without that the chip works great

Great CPU with lower power draw and strong performance for gaming and video editing. Easily out performs Intel's 11th gen in both thermals and speed. The value per dollar is slightly better for the 5600x and 5900x.

Excellent CPU. Price is a bit high but they are dropping a bit on these processors. I had to exchange the first one because it had a faulty memory controller but hey.....it happens. One thing for anyone planning on purchasing this...it gets hot. Make sure you have a decent cooler and plenty of airflow in your case. The CPU is 7nm process with all 8 cores on a single CCX so it gets toasty.

I got rid of my 3700X for this CPU. I got the 3700X on a whim and I was disappointed with it, it was too slow for my RX 6800. I experienced some micro stutters in most games, I run 1440P in all scenarios. So for those wondering if it's worth the upgrade, I can confidently say that it is. I have had nothing but great gameplay since.

Amazing performance from AMD as always. Multitasking and gaming performance has been drastically improved from the last Zen 2 architecture. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for both gaming and light professional work.

I upgraded from a 5600x to this mostly for the gaming side of everything. I still do video editing now and then and still pretty solid. I'm glad I upgraded since this will last me for several years before a new system build.

Fastest CPU I’ve ever owned, easily clocked to 5ghz with a little bios fiddling on my ASUS TUF X570 board. I was surprised to see the massive gains in frame rate with my 2060 super versus my previous 3700X. Especially in CyberPunk 2077 it really stabilized things. Loading is quick as lightning too. Would have rather had more cores with a 5900X but at least this one was available at MSRP!

A great CPU. I'm coming from a 1700x, so this was definitely an improvement. I held off on the Ryzen 3000 CPUs, particularly the fantastic 3600x, and decided on this one vs the 5600x because it would just feel weird for me to upgrade to less cores even though I don't personally benefit from the increased core count.

Recently upgraded from the ryzen 5 to this because it was on sale. Didnt think it would be that significant of an improvement, but boy was I wrong. This paired with my 6800xt makes an astounding upgrade.
