It was a very simple swap on an X570 mobo with an updated bios. The 5800x actually stays 5-10c cooler than the 3800x using a Noctua D15. I’ve seen it boost all the way to 5ghz which is insane on a Ryzen CPU. This chip has been a lot of fun to play around with and I do not regret the upgrade. It’s perfect for any modern GPU.

But even on a 280mm EK AIO this thing runs hot. Not so hot I don’t recommend it. If you have a case with bad airflow and a mediocre air cooler or wimpy AIO you’re going to find your thermal limitations real fast.

And for the price it was a huge upgrade on performance literally got this and a b550 mag tomahawk max wifi and am not looking back, plus just added a 990 pro m.2 and a 3060 card huge upgrades as well from a 980 and a 1060 pc funs fast and smooth also aio cooler for processor
