GREAT CPU, BUT A LITTLE WARM!!!!

This processor is great, fast and runs very nice with my RTX 3080. The one thing I will note that you must be aware of is that this model does run the hottest of the 5000 chips. THe 5800x and the 5900x both have the same TDP but the 5800x has less die, which means less space to dissipate heat. Make sure to get a very good air cooler or minimum 240mm Liquid cooler. OTher than that one caveat I think its an amazing value especially now that the prices have come down. You should be able to get this CPU for $379 like I did, you just have to hunt for it.

While the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 3D V-Cache outperforms the 5800X in some gaming scenarios, it cannot be overclocked. The Ryzen 5800X3D is currently selling for around $450.00 while this processor is selling for around $310.00. If you are looking for computational power or virtual machines this is a better value.

I have found this process to be well worth the money running very quickly with all the games I play it's very good with its processing speeds and has clocks for a lot of multitasking.
Go the CPU was created to be easy to overclock I have never done so as I find the performance in the non-overclocked mode exceeds any expectations I had originally.

Awesome 8 core 16 thread cpu. Pretty solid and still holds up right now in 2023 against ryzen 7000 series. And the best part it was knly 249. Couldnt recommend it more for people who want great performance for the next few years.

Picked this up for $200 and that's an absolutely insane price for this - it's incredibly good and has no issues keeping up with all tasks you throw at it. Skip the AM5 for now and get this if budget is a concern, you won't regret it.

Awesome processor, great power and value for your money, no complaints here other than the CPU runs a little hot for my liking but this is not due to a bad design, in fact the design allows it to achieve great overclock speeds but also keeps it very warm. I would definitely recommend it but also watch your temps and use a big AIO cooler for it.

Upgraded from an r5 1600 so no complaints here. Basically noticed the better performance immediately which was great. Got it on sale in a bundle which very much made this a great value proposition for upgrading

If you're going through the reviews looking for an answer if it's normal that this processor hits 80-90 degrees all the time, especially when you're gaming and idles in the 70s, it is. It freaked me out as well, at first, since I was actually using an older 240 AIO from Thermaltake but I was assured by all the reviews online that this is actually a very hot processor. It is rated to run in the 90s normally. I ended up buying the CORSAIR - iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX CPU Cooler and I've been idling around the 40's ever since and about 65-75 when I'm gaming. I do a lot of work on the PC besides gaming so this 8 core PC suited my needs better but if you ask me, if it's purely for gaming, go with the 5600X.

I upgraded from an AMD 3600 (it was a place holder until the 5000 series came out). I was able to get lucky a few weeks ago to nab this model. I was intending to get an 8 or 12 core for video rendering and gaming. This 5800X has lowered my rendering times by a 3rd. It does get much warmer with the 8 cores. I had to buy 3000 rpm cpu fans (push-pull) to keep the CPU temp around 85C when using Handbrake with all cores maxed out at about 4.5+Ghz on all of them. (it is a cooler master 212 Black edition letting it climb to 90C-92C). I will need to consider liquid cooling when I can get my hands on a 6800xt or a RTX3080 card and rework the entire computer at once along with a upgraded PSU. I am very happy with this CPU along with my X570 motherboard and all the BIOS and AMD driver updates...it's been a great experience with this little monster...
If you get it...plan on cooling it with LC. The price per core ratio is a bit much but it will be a great CPU for anything you throw at it! I was also able to get signed up with AMD rewards to get the free game...when it comes out in another couple months...

Recently upgraded from a Z390 9900k to a x570 5800x. 8/16 for 8/16, performance gains across the board with modern port assignments to boot and Gen4. Much less power consumption and clock for clock just decimated my old 9900k. Was lucky enough to get a golden chip (CTR cert) hitting 6100+ CB20 right out of the box before any tweaks and curve -25 to -30 across the board. Paired with a 3090 running like a champ with full BAR enabled.

This CPU has allowed to unbottle neck my gpu which was a 3060 TI, so if you are looking to pair these two I would highly recommend this chip. However, if your budget would allow it, I would ask you to consider to upgrade to the 7000's series of AMD processors. Please keep in mind that will mean a more expensive motherboard, and ram.
PS This chip this run extremely hot so you will need either a radiator cooler or a massive cpu cooler such as the NH-D15 (I personally use this cooler and it works perfectly with this chip and any chip that may come out in the future but that tower is MASSIVE.)

5900x is near impossible to get and the 5600 doesn’t have the amount of cores I need. I was glad to be able to get this sweet card. It’s expensive and in terms of value isn’t as good as previous Zen 2 but it’s still an amazing powerful card.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 4th Gen 8-core, 16-threads Unlocked Desktop Processor is a powerhouse that delivers exceptional performance for both gaming and productivity tasks. After extensive use, here's my 5-star review of this impressive CPU.
Pros:
1. Stellar Performance (5/5): The Ryzen 7 5800X is a performance beast. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it handles demanding tasks with ease. Whether you're gaming, video editing, or multitasking, it delivers smooth and responsive performance.
2. Zen 3 Architecture (5/5): The CPU's Zen 3 architecture is a game-changer. It offers significant IPC (Instructions Per Cycle) improvements, which translate to better single-threaded performance and overall system responsiveness.
3. Unlocked and Overclockable (5/5): The "unlocked" designation means you can overclock this CPU to push it even further, extracting every ounce of performance for your specific needs.
4. Excellent Gaming Performance (5/5): Gamers will appreciate the Ryzen 7 5800X's high clock speeds and low latency. It's a top choice for gaming enthusiasts who demand smooth frame rates and quick load times.
5. Compatibility (5/5): AMD's AM4 socket ensures broad compatibility with a wide range of motherboards, making it easier to find a suitable platform for your build.
Cons:
1. No Included Cooler (4/5): While the Ryzen 7 5800X doesn't come with a stock cooler, this is a common practice among high-end CPUs. Users will need to invest in a compatible third-party cooler for optimal thermal performance.
2. Price (4/5): High-performance comes at a cost, and the Ryzen 7 5800X is priced accordingly. It may not be the best choice for budget-conscious builders.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is a CPU that truly shines in the desktop processor market. With its outstanding performance, Zen 3 architecture, and unlocked design, it's a dream come true for gamers, content creators, and professionals seeking top-tier computing power.
The lack of an included cooler may require an additional investment, but this CPU's capabilities make it a worthwhile one. While the price may be on the higher side, the performance gains you'll experience more than justify the cost, especially for those who demand the best from their systems.
If you're in search of a high-performance CPU that can handle everything from gaming to content creation with ease, the Ryzen 7 5800X is an excellent choice. It represents a significant leap forward in desktop processing power and is sure to satisfy even the most demanding users.

Especially with the change to the newest generation of processors, the last gen is compelling. The power, performance and effeciency are great. Theyre a great deal on sale too
