Unleash Desktop Performance Excellence
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 4th Gen 8-core, 16-threads Unlocked Desktop Processor is a powerhouse that delivers exceptional performance for both gaming and productivity tasks. After extensive use, here's my 5-star review of this impressive CPU. Pros: 1. Stellar Performance (5/5): The Ryzen 7 5800X is a performance beast. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it handles demanding tasks with ease. Whether you're gaming, video editing, or multitasking, it delivers smooth and responsive performance. 2. Zen 3 Architecture (5/5): The CPU's Zen 3 architecture is a game-changer. It offers significant IPC (Instructions Per Cycle) improvements, which translate to better single-threaded performance and overall system responsiveness. 3. Unlocked and Overclockable (5/5): The "unlocked" designation means you can overclock this CPU to push it even further, extracting every ounce of performance for your specific needs. 4. Excellent Gaming Performance (5/5): Gamers will appreciate the Ryzen 7 5800X's high clock speeds and low latency. It's a top choice for gaming enthusiasts who demand smooth frame rates and quick load times. 5. Compatibility (5/5): AMD's AM4 socket ensures broad compatibility with a wide range of motherboards, making it easier to find a suitable platform for your build. Cons: 1. No Included Cooler (4/5): While the Ryzen 7 5800X doesn't come with a stock cooler, this is a common practice among high-end CPUs. Users will need to invest in a compatible third-party cooler for optimal thermal performance. 2. Price (4/5): High-performance comes at a cost, and the Ryzen 7 5800X is priced accordingly. It may not be the best choice for budget-conscious builders. Conclusion: In conclusion, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is a CPU that truly shines in the desktop processor market. With its outstanding performance, Zen 3 architecture, and unlocked design, it's a dream come true for gamers, content creators, and professionals seeking top-tier computing power. The lack of an included cooler may require an additional investment, but this CPU's capabilities make it a worthwhile one. While the price may be on the higher side, the performance gains you'll experience more than justify the cost, especially for those who demand the best from their systems. If you're in search of a high-performance CPU that can handle everything from gaming to content creation with ease, the Ryzen 7 5800X is an excellent choice. It represents a significant leap forward in desktop processing power and is sure to satisfy even the most demanding users.

Beast of a CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Current Specs: PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold Mobo: ASUS TUF x570 Gaming+Wifi CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x GPU: ASUS TUF RX 5700xt Review: So far, it's been outstanding to see such an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 to such a BEAST of a CPU! Installation: It was quite simple, I only needed to make sure my BI0S was updated to support the CPU, other than that it was pretty much just plug and play. Notes: Please remind yourself that the maximum (officially supported) RAM speed for the Ryzen 7 5800x CPU is 3200MHz. Unfortunately, I'm stuck using 4400MHz RAM, but it automatically slows it down to 2666MHz, so its still compatible, just understand if you want the BEST "0FFICIAL" supported speeds, make sure you get the right RAM! TLDR; This is one great CPU

Beast of a CPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to start with: what a beast of a CPU. For $300 (the price I got it at) it offers far more value than the 5600x at the same or near same price point. Its 8 core and 16 threads has been perfect for all my use cases and does not bottleneck my 3080ti at all.

Ryzen 5800x great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge improvement over the 3700x. Multitasking and gaming is done without any lag or frame drops now! Streaming is a breeze! Wish I had gotten the 5900x for the extra cores, but at least next gen consoles are 8 cores so it will be enough for the next 3-5 years.

Solid.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy didn't have the best price on this processor, but it was competitive and I didn't want to drive 200 miles round trip to save 70 bucks. They price matched with Amazon, so I ended up getting about 25 dollars back a couple of weeks later. I'm running this as a drop-in replacement on a Gigabyte B550 UD AC motherboard from a CyberPowerPC prebuilt, cooled by a Noctua NH-U12A. I set it to 65W eco mode, Infinity Fabric at 1800 with Corsair 3600 memory, and it runs cooooool. (I don't use the "pea sized drop" method to spread thermal compound. I use a nitrile glove and put an even, thin coat on both the processor and the heatsink. It works for me.) Just a solid processor. Are there faster processors out there? Sure. This is what my local Best Buy had in stock, and it was good, so I went with it. I think it will be a set-it-and-forget-it system for long-term use.

Love me some Ryzen!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ryzen processors. Top of their game right now. This thing performs like you'd expect a Ryzen CPU to perform. The 5800X runs hot tho. I got a 120mm AIO and dropped about 10°C. But with PBO, in Ryzen master this thing runs a stuck and stable 4.8GHz easy. Most games I play never push it up to 80°C. Except for Call Of Duty Warzone/MW/Cold War. Saw a slight fps increase with my 2070 Super. But I believe once I can add a 30 series GPU I'll see significant uplift in FPS. I had a 3600X and didn't really need to upgrade but I was able to save quite a bit of money had I waited until later. But with better performance and the generational improvements, I don't think I'll need another CPU for quite a while.

Everything I Need and More
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily one of the best purchases of my adult life. whether I'm gaming, editing videos, or having a hundred google tabs open at once, this processor runs like a dream, it's fast and rarely reaches 60 degrees celsius, even when running DaVinci video editor.

Get it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't run into any problems whatsoever. Amazing power compared to my previous Ryzen 5 3600x. For the sale price I got it at, it was a steal. I've always had AMD processors and have never been disappointed. Would recommend

5800X great processor, and great price at best buy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just a beast of a processor. Replaced a 3900X. Bought the 3900X for the clock speed, didn't need all those cores. Having 5800X with a 6800XT and PCIE 4.0 M.2 SSD, man there is nothing better (at least until there is...). ;) Yeah, you could get it on amazon for maybe $20 less, but there's a few days lead time. If your impatient like me, walk in and buy one. The San Marcos, CA store had at least 8 of them in stock. The store rep that helped me even asked if I needed a cooler and/or thermal paste. I opted to test the Wraith Prism from my 3900X, and was quickly disappointed at the high temps in all scenarios. Returned the next day to get a Corsiar H60 watercooling AIO solution, and extremely pleased to see temps brought down by 10C or more across the board.

Great for Gaming at a budget
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Performace for the price. seems like you can get this processor a little easier than the ryzen 9 chips. Great for gaming and if you want to save some money. 5600x might be the sweet spot for gaming tho.

Great CPU, but overkill for most games
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CPU is great, though it does get very hot without a proper curve through Curve Optimizer and a good cooler. Paired with a 7900XT, basically all games run at very high FPS with high quality settings at 2K without being too CPU bottlenecked. getting usually more than 120 FPS on games like Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales, The Finals, Warzone 2, etc. If remaining on or upgrading to AM4 platform, better get a 5700x or 5800X3D, if mostly gaming

Extremely fast!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is extremely fast! I paired this with a 3080Ti and nothing slows it down. Overclocked to 4.5ghz @ 1.265 easy. I haven't pushed it further but I'm sure it can. This is perfect for gaming at 1440p. Don't hesitate and buy it!

Great CPU!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I moved from an i7 to this CPU when my motherboard tanked. I've never had an AMD CPU before so didn't really know what to expect, but it has been fantastic. Mine is overclocked to 4.2 (liquid cooled) and performs flawlessly.

Great processor if you have patience to tweak
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was feeling defeated on this processor. I Was extremely disappointed in it at first not due to performance but thermals. It was hitting 90c under load and for me that wasn't something I was comfortable with for longevity. I almost returned it but I found a YouTube video explaining why it runs hot and how to fix it. If you follow the video with limiting the power draw on this cpu via Ryzen master in the OS or via your BIOS settings it instantly dropped by about 13-15c under load and only gave up 4% performance on the multicore score about 600pts in cinebench. Single core did go up though. I was getting about 4.8GHZ on single and 4.5 under multicore. Fast forward a few more days as I was waiting parts from the holiday sales. I Did a lot of changes so I am unsure of what impacted it the most. It is now running on the stock AMD factory settings without and tweaking and cinebench performance restored, sitting at 32c idle and 60c during use maxing at about 72 under full load. Here's what I changed Swapped from an MSI 240 mag aio cooler to the cosair h100i capplix elite, swapped from a bronze rated thermaltake 850watt PS, to a 750watt titanium rated seasonic, mounted the new rad with the hoses down instead of up, using 2 of the 3 120mm fans on the front of my case in a push/pull config on the rad, After getting everything else lined up and seeing the temps drop massively I am happy with this processor but depending on your build, it may take a lot of time to get it to where you like it. Hence the 4/5 Instead of 5. It's the most work I have ever had to put in for a simple processor upgrade. Came from a 2700x

Absolute gam monster when overclocked/under volted
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my 3900X, and boy is it an upgrade! This 5000 series is definitely better for gaming as all of my games are much smoother with noticeably higher framerates. I recommend undervolting at 4.7ghz with Ryzen Master. My voltage is about 1.25V which is far lower than out of the box. If you don't, your temps with be HIIIIGH! With undervolt, my temps hover around 46C while gaming. I use an NZXT Kraken x73 aio for cooling. Without that profile, it would sometimes spike temps faster than the cooling could react and would trigger an overheat restart, so again, highly recommend you dial in a custom overclock. When that's done, it performs beautifully. I stream using OBS while gaming and don't lose any performance (at least nothing percievable). I'm scared to see what AMD comes out with for the next generation.

The Ryzen 7 5800X cpu is excellent.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Ryzen 7 5800X cpu has worked flawlessly from the first minute of activity. I paired it with the MSI 570X motherboard, a Corsair water cooler. a 2060 graphics card, a 750 watt power supply, and two 16 GB Corsair Vengence Pro memory units. My previous build was one using an Intel i7 9700K cpu. This new Ryzen 7 5800X build surprised me in three ways: 1) there were no problems encountered, 2) the Windows 10 boot-up time was faster by about 30%, and 3) the boot-up times for games such as Witcher 3 was about 30% faster. This is my 15th computer build, and this new build was the most enjoyable. I highly recommend this Ryzen 7 5800X cpu.

Amazing performance for virtually any use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 5800X for an engineering workstation for a client. Paired with a B550 motherboard, 980 Pro SSD, Nvidia P2200 and 32GB of 3600CL16 Trident Z Neo memory, this CPU delivers tremendous performance. Cooled by a Noctua NH-C14S with a second Noctua Industrial fan, AMD PBO2 and a 3rd party power plan that has better thread scheduling for the strongest cores, this CPU was sitting comfortably at 4.8GHZ steadily while going through productivity benchmarks and would only drop down to 4.3GHZ all-core turbo when rendering. Highly recommended!
