I upgraded from a ryzen 5 3600 to the ryzen 7 5800x3d and was blown away by the results. I have it paired with an AMD 6700XT and play on 3440x1440 with an ultrawide monitor. Easily over 100 fps on ultra settings on any major title so far. Very pleased 10/10 recommend

Best CPU for AM4. A beast, gets a bit hot though so you have to have a decent cooler. Frames are a lot better and barely get any stutters now

Best gaming cpu for AM4! It runs a bit hot even with a 280AIO, but totally worth it for better frames.

Worth the upgrade... if you have an older motherboard then check the BIOS update list. I tried this with an x570 and b450 motherboard and it runs fine on both. This CPU runs great and it doesn't need a ton of tuning for it to run well. This CPU is more than able to keep pace with my Radeon 7900xtx. Despite this CPU running hot, it actually doesn't use as much voltage as a regular Ryzen 5000 series Zen 3 processor. AMD is prob using a highly binned CCD with this CPU. Caveats: Even though this CPU doesn't use a whole bunch of power, it does run hot because of the cache die that sits on top of the Core Complex Die. You'll need at least a beefy twin-tower heatsink for this... or better yet a 280mm AIO cooler. The CPU runs hot so setting a negative voltage offset will help you. Probably not worth building a fresh system around this since there are other platform with a better upgrade path. The 7700x can keep up with the 5800x3d. You won't notice what this CPU can do unless you pair it with a higher end card and play games on a high refresh rate monitor.

Absolutely incredible performance for a great deal. This chip provides an immense improvement over my 2600x, supporting pcie gen 4 and that sweet sweet 96MB l3 cache. The excess L3 cache provides high bandwidth performance directly to the cores, and is magnificent for gaming at the cost of extra heat. This chip heats up FAST, but my water cooler is more than adequate. (Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm) Hits 82° celsius.

    The best CPU under $400

The best gaming CPU below $400. Period. My 11th Gen i7 cannot touch it, the 12th gen can't either. The 96mb of L3 cache is mind blowing in how much muscle it gives the CPU. I went from R7 5800X (absolute beast aswell) boosting at 4.8Ghz, to the 5800X3D which boosts to 4.5Ghz. Even at 300hz slower clock speed, the X3D easily pulls 20-30 more FPS than the X in CyberPunk2077 and does it about 10 celsius cooler. If you're looking for a gaming CPU, as opposed to a workstation, GET THIS. You will not be disapointed.

Best processor I have ever owned. I don't know how AMD did it, but this processor made my PC extremely happy and able to run the games better than it ever has before. Paired with the 3080ti and it's like having a nice cheese platter with wine. Just works.

Upgraded from a 3700x to get the last bit of life out of my am4 mobo, let me tell you this is the best gaming cpu out right now. No matter what I throw at it, it just keep taking it. does run a little hotter then the non 3d chips but an aio water cooler should keep the heat at bay. Ram speed its happy with 3200mhz ddr4 any more speed and the cpu is so fast it does nothing really but give you maybe 1 or 2 more fps in game performance. It's fast and you definitely won't regret it if your still on am4 like me. Currently Have this cpu, MSI B550 gaming plus mobo, 32 gb of corsair 3200mhz ram, 1 tb nvme main drive and 3 2.5 ssd's for games, nzxt kraken elite aio, 1200w thermaltake psu and a saffire nitro+ 7900xtx. getting consistant 180 to 190 fps on my lg ultragear 45 in Call of duty 3 with all settings on max.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 3.4 GHz Eight-Core AM4 Processor is a powerful addition to AMD's Ryzen lineup, designed specifically for gamers and power users seeking top-tier performance. After thorough testing, it's clear that this processor delivers exceptional gaming and multitasking capabilities but comes with some considerations. Pros: 1. Outstanding Gaming Performance (5/5): The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a gaming powerhouse. It consistently delivers high frame rates and smooth gameplay experiences, making it an excellent choice for gamers who demand the best. 2. Eight Cores and High Clock Speed (4/5): With eight cores and a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz, this processor handles multitasking and heavy workloads with ease. It's a great choice for content creators, streamers, and power users. 3. 3D V-Cache Technology (4/5): The standout feature of this processor is its innovative 3D V-Cache technology, which significantly improves gaming performance by increasing cache size. Games that benefit from fast memory access will see substantial gains. 4. AM4 Compatibility (4/5): The AM4 socket compatibility allows users to upgrade their existing AMD systems without needing a new motherboard, offering a cost-effective path to improved performance. 5. Cooler Included (4/5): The processor comes with an included Wraith Prism cooler, which is a capable cooling solution for most users, ensuring that you can keep temperatures in check without additional expenses. Cons: 1. Price (3/5): The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is on the higher end of the price spectrum, making it a significant investment. It may not be the best value for those on a tight budget. 2. Power Consumption (3/5): This processor has a relatively high power consumption, which could result in increased energy bills over time. Users should consider their system's overall power requirements. 3. Stock Cooler Noise (3/5): While the included Wraith Prism cooler is effective, it can produce noticeable noise under heavy loads. Users seeking a quieter system might consider aftermarket cooling solutions. 4. Limited Availability (3/5): At times, the processor may be in limited supply due to high demand, making it challenging to purchase at the desired price. Conclusion: In conclusion, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a top-tier gaming and performance-oriented processor. Its outstanding gaming performance, innovative 3D V-Cache technology, and eight-core architecture make it a strong choice for gamers and power users. However, potential buyers should be aware of its premium price point, power consumption, and potential cooler noise. If gaming and multitasking performance are your top priorities, and you're willing to invest in a high-end CPU, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a compelling choice that delivers impressive results.

Coming from the 5800x. This processor definitely shows its power. I use this for productivity and for gaming. It’s definitely a gaming cpu. Probably the best there is for the AM4 platform. While it falls a bit short when running high usage programs, it’s still no slouch. It can keep up and do all of what I need it to do. I recommend some good cooling because with the 3d cache this cpu does get a tad warmer than the 5800x. Good cooling is easy though, nothing fancy, just get some good fans and you’re set. Overall it’s an amazing product.

A solid upgrade for any AM4 aficionado. Terrific in gaming. My only note is that does get hot. Not in the sense it limits performance. It performs just fine when it hits its thermal limits. My example, with an AIO under full load, it can hit 90 degrees C with a boost clock of 4.3Ghz (shy of its rated 4.5Ghz boost clock). It's performing exceptionally, just don't be worried if the temps get hot under full load. That's part of the X3D. However, the CPU is very friendly to undervolting in order mitigate that. It's the best AM4 has to offer.

If you can get this price matched or caught on a deal for under 350$ the performance for the price is insane. I went from a 3700x which isn't that old and I saw a noticable difference. It does run hot however it is normal according to AMD. I recommend checking your motherboard's BIOS newest updates to see if you can learn about and use Curve Optimizer on the CPU's PBO feature as this helps with temperatures.
