Got this to replace my 10700k build that died, Its performance in games is great, and its a lot more power effecient. Its a good cpu, although a 7800x3d would be a better choice if its strickly for gaming.

I really was hoping I could build another intel rig but decided not too since they’re new cpus are okay and pretty pricey so I settled with this. It’s pretty good and super capable and fast for my gaming needs and I don’t do any cad or blender or any of that just straight gaming and like I said it’s good for the money since I got it on sale and pretty impress with it. I paired it with a 5070 and gaming in 1440 and it’s butter smooth and high fps.

This AM5 chip delivers more than you think.

This processor has faced criticism, yet it offers impressive performance. Many users find its capabilities surprisingly competitive. It often performs similarly to other high-end processors (ryzen 7 7800x3d) Consider giving this processor a chance despite negative reviews. Its power and speed might pleasantly surprise you. Its a powerful little chip.

Your mid range 5GHz thread W pick on a budget.

So you see the boring 3.8 GHz, they're trying to hide in plain sight. It's 5+ GHz with very gracious core / thread count for the price I bought it for. AMD is a W and shreds games and browser tab armies like its paper in an office. HOWEVER: If you think this is some cyberpunk 2077 handling behemoth you need to research quite a bit more. Would use to play cities skylines II, would not use this to simulate the emergent properties of cells in a bio laboratory. (Make sense?) Get it, chew through your threads with budget, barely middle of the line average silicon, and be a happy pub g player.

I have a couple of builds: one with this processor and one with the 9950x (my main desktop). And, despite the 9950x having twice the cores, except under heavy workload, this processor performs basically the same. That is actually to be expected if you understand the microarchitecture. That is to say, both this and the 9950x are the very best processors I've ever used. And even for the heaviest of desktop workloads, this processor, the 9700x, will be sure to impress. I completely recommend. Truly a marvel of engineering, considering the power efficiency and thermal performance.

Not sure why there is so much dislike surrounding this processor, but it’s been working perfectly for me. You can either leave it at 65w or go up to 105w for a bit more performance. I have it paired with a 4080 SUPER and it handles it just fine. Yeah maybe you won’t get the extra 10fps you might with a XD processor, but this can run cyberpunk at max ray tracing without a hiccup so idk what people are complaining about. Just make sure to make use of a nice set of AMD EXPO high speed RAM and you’ll be golden.

I purchased this CPU for yet another build. I decided to go with the AMD team, since Intel had their issues for the last 2 generations. The CPU itself is running cool, really fast compared to my previous one, also an AMD (3700X). Coming from that one to this beauty, the jump is unbelievable. Programs run fast, the computer boots in a short time, also thanks to the Samsung 990 Pro SSD. If you’re thinking to build a new PC, I highly recommend this CPU. You won’t regret it.

The Ryzen 9700X delivers excellent all around performance - I installed this CPU in my new build and it easily handles modern games and demanding productivity workloads. It runs cool an and pairs well with high end GPUs (RTX 5080 in my case) without bottlenecking. For anyone building a system that will stay relevant for years, the 9700X offers a great balance of speed, value, and future proofing.

    Super Fast and Great Upgrade

Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 and it was night and day. Very fast CPU and is worth getting over the X3D chips IF you put the money towards a better graphics card. Of course the X3D chips are faster at gaming, but 1440p + I would recommend putting more money into the GPU if you are on a budget. I put this in a different build and it honestly feels faster than my 7800X3D in lighter workloads, but performs slightly less than the 7800X3D in gaming.

Moved up from 5800x and found this to really make my system snappy. Got about 20% better performance in CPU intensive games and also do not bottle neck my GPU anymore. Also runs very cool compared to my last CPU even with just air cooling

After many years of using Intel products (most recently the i5-12600K), I’ve come to the understanding of why people exclaim that AMD’s CPUs are superior. I understand that this is a huge jump of performance, but this upgrade has drastically changed my gaming and productivity experience. I currently have this paired with a 7800XT and love it! I know that I’ll always come back to AMD for their CPUs in the foreseeable future.
