Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the product's exceptional gaming performance, often delivering significantly higher frame rates, and its impressive processor speed, which is considered the current king of CPUs. They also appreciate its effective heat dissipation, noting great temperature numbers, and find the installation process simple. However, customers are negative about the core count, indicating that workloads can suffer from having only 8 cores.

Best CPU for gaming on the market, and it's also strong enough to multitask for content creation/streaming! Probably the best overall option for an upgrade if you're a gamer, go with the 9950 if you edit massive sized 4k videos & content, but for gaming in 4k - this is the top tier choice! BestBuy also price matched with me and I got $75 off so another good reason for me

Ive been on intel since 9900K and have always been a fan of them. Even through the ups and downs of Raptor Lake I stayed committed. I was looking forward to the new Arrow Lake cpus but when the reviews came out I was disappointed, to say the least. This 9800X3D is nothing short of amazing. Sacrifice a small amount of work performance for some of the best gaming performance I've ever seen! If you are like me and find yourself torn then please make the jump to AMD. You will not regret it.

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is one of the most impressive gaming-focused processors you can buy right now. It uses AMD’s advanced 3D V-Cache tech to stack a huge amount of L3 cache on the chip, which boosts performance in titles that demand low latency and lots of data access — especially at high frame rates

I run this with a 3070 and it runs amazing. I pull around 200 frames on games like Marvel Rivals and that’s on a 165 hz monitor.

I built a new computer, so it's a little difficult to determine what the impact is for each component since they're all new. This is a very big upgrade as my previous PC was more than 12 years old and had a dual core Intel CPU. This is being paired with a MSI B850 motherboard and 32GB DDR5 RAM, and it's incredibly fast. Although I will be gaming a little, I chose the X3D processor because it helps with productivity, and along with gaming, I'll be using my PC to help with editing 4K videos and large RAW image files, which my old PC couldn't handle too well. The only negative is that it does not include a heat sink. I'm including a photo to the review, though you can't see much of the CPU because it has the heat sink on it (before attaching the fan to the side).

With GPU prices high, graphics cards hard to find and minimal gains over the rtx 40 series, I decided to Upgrade my CPU from a ryzen 7 7700x to the 9800x3d now. Do not regret it for a moment even for 4k high refresh rate gaming. Great uplifts in 1% lows. With the 3D v-cache AMD is dominating Intel in gaming. The one issue I had at first were long POST times with EXPO enabled. It took a bunch of tweaks in the BIOS but now system boots in under 10 seconds and stable with memory at 6000mhz

Got this processor based off of many recommendations and reviews for my gaming PC. It is super quick and works as intended. I haven’t had a chance to tweak the settings and boost it up, but will soon enough. It is paired with an X870 Aorus Elite (need to update the bios before trying to boot), 32GB Crucial RAM 6400m/t, and a RX9070XT.

Very happy with this cpu. I upgraded from a 5950x so I went down in core count but I’m fine with that. This CPU is the BEST gaming cpu at this time. I was able to really get a lot of extra performance but over clocking it. Would highly recommend if you have the budget for it.

The AMD 9700x3D is a absolutely blazing fast game eater, my new build I knew I wanted a RTX 5080 and needed a CPU with the power to match it’s performance, the duo is a monster at gaming and of course can handle everyday computing flawlessly, and more demanding tasks like software compilation / build and coding. Pair it with 32GB of 6400mhx DRR5 ram and it’s unstoppable.

Amazing product. AMD is killing it in recent generations. I socketed this into an x870e mobo and was getting boost clocks near 5.4ghz with no basic overclocking. -20 undervolt and it still clocks the same with far less heat. I have seen people over clock these things to unprecedented speeds (YouTube). I use an air cooler (peerless assassin) that is more than adequate for this under heavy loads.
