Bought this to go with my new build with a RTX 3080TI and it did not disappoint. This CPU has a crazy amount of cores and is great for both gaming and heavier processing.

Really good CPU, Just recreantly purchased this during cyber Monday. Upgraded from a 3700x. And i can tell the difference immediately. This CPU does gaming, Auto Cad, And 3-D rendering really well. It also handles my 7800xt extremally well as well. All in all get this CPU while it is 50% off!!!!!

Upgraded from a Ryzen 3700x. I wasn't sure what to expect, but in games like Warzone my FPS jumped up to around 190-200 FPS from like 140-150. This is paired with a 3080, so I expect I was bottlenecking before. Set-up was a little trickier than I was expecting. Make sure to update your BIOS before installing, unlike I did. When I first installed this as well pretty much every game would stutter, and the solution for me was a fresh windows install. Overall though it seems like performance improvement justified the cost and hassle , especially with the prices finally coming down. I feel I've more than future proofed my PC with this upgrade.

    Runs hot but works great!

Runs really hot, but pretty standard for a 12-core processor. Solid value for the price. Haven't had any issues whatsoever. Got a lot of hard use playing STALKER 2, and it did help a bit in the CPU heavy areas of the game. Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600 and the performance is leaps better. Only complaint is that you do need a beefy cooler to keep it from frying itself. I'm using a Cooler Master 120mm AIO liquid cooler for the processor, and it still tops out at about 83C. I suggest at least a 240mm or bigger AIO cooler for this CPU.

well i have an old motherboard and this is the second to the highest chip. I am allowed to put in it. I was worried that I would need to max out my ram, or do something else to make sure that it ran properly, but from the moment I put it in it has run perfectly fine. I am giving it good value because I got this on sale. I still think most of these are overpriced and stay too high priced for too long. But this one was definitely decent on sale.

Best AM4 option in my opinion

What a beast. I bought this for gaming and audio production, and it works really well. As far as AM4 goes (and you don’t want to go to AM5), totally worth the value and worth the upgrade (I came from 5600x). Can run a little hot, but that’s what you have a water cooler for

An Absolute Beast of a CPU!

This is an absolutely incredible CPU! I upgraded from the 5600X. I bought the 5600X the day it was released and at the time, I was too focused on keeping the cost of my build around $1,200. If I knew then what I know now, I would have started with the 5900X. This thing is amazing! It chews through HD video compression like nothing else! It compresses 4K video in a much more reasonable amount of time than the 5600X. Also, the power usage is much lower than its Intel counterpart and as far as I know, the security is also much better.

Went from a 3700 to this and can instantly tell the difference when it comes to gaming/multitasking. Would recommend getting a AIO or upgraded Fan cooler. The wraith cooler would have it wround 80c while gaming. After the msi 240r aio it now around 64c. Maybe even getting a 320 would of been the better route. After some googling seems a average temps are 70-80c while running. For 300$ well worth it if you're on ryzen 3 or older

I'm going to be honest, I was not expecting huge gains coming from a Ryzen 5600x. And you are probably wondering, why would you upgrade twice in a single product cycle? Well the short answer is that the availability of the 5900x when it first came out was... lacking to say the least so I had to make due with the 5600x. At the time, the six-core processor was more than capable to fit my needs. However over the past year, my work habits have changed and thus I demanded more from my workstation. Adding a second monitor was a great addition to help increase my multi-tasking capabilities. However this made me aware of the limitations of having fewer cores in my system. So I decided to go for this beast of a cpu, doubling the number of cores in my system. I kept my expectations in check of course, double the cores does not mean "doubling performance". And to be quite frank, in terms of raw performance, it's actually not that much quicker in running normal tasks... that is, at least on paper. Of course, if you run programs that can utilize all the performance, then yes it will be significantly faster. But I do not run such programs for my workload, just a heavy multi-tasker. To get to my point, this upgrade allowed me to experience something very different when it comes to "user experience". It isn't a massive jump in performance in gaming or running normal day to day applications. But it is that buttery smooth experience that you cannot explain on paper, nor run any test programs to measure a noticeable gain. And I think far too many times, we come to compare stats on paper without considering the "user experience". Many reviews on this cpu come to the conclusion that it is not that much quicker in gaming when compared to its little brother, the 5600x. But I guarantee you, that 5600x will have the occasional micro-stutters, or it takes a few extra seconds to install a program. Basically, my point is that most people will not need this level of performance and if you are strictly on a budget, a 5600x is your best bet. For example, imagine owning a normal, economic car vs. a high end luxury car. Both will get you from point A to point B. I'd even go as far to say that they'll probably get you there in similar times. In terms of transportation, they both will do the job. However, the luxury car will just do it in comfort, and it's just nice to be in one isn't it. Similarly, the 5900x is that luxury bracket, the user experience is what you get with 12 cores :)

If you have an older AM4 CPU and don’t wanna upgrade your motherboard and RAM, 5900x is a solid option. Gaming frame rates are more consistent/stable with a noticeable boost since I’ve been previously CPU bottlenecked with a 3900x. It’s a steal if you can catch it at a discount! Remember to check if you need to update your bios before installing it!

This run is a little hot but is an amazing processer. I get 90 to 100+ fps in BF4 maxed out (3070ti) vs medium settings and 70fps from my 3700x. Highly recommend if you don't want to buy into the new and very expensive AM5 socket. If you already have a AM4 mobo this is an amazing end of the upgrade path. It is overkill for most gaming but you heavily mod games or stream. Then this is the processor for you. 100% Recommend at 300
