This one of the best films that I seen last year. Denzel Washington plays Franck Lucas. 1# drug dealer in New York City. Russell Crowe plays Detective Richie Roberts who 1# mission to take down the top drug dealer in the city.

"American Gangster" gives you an inside look into the life of a real gangster named Frank Lucas. Denzel plays this role so welll you don't know if its Denzel or Frank. I tell you something its really good and draws you instantly. Wel written, scripted, directed etc...

I love this movie, but still had problem with the name, American Gangster. The name gives me the thought that movie will be centered on Frank Lucas, but its more about both drug kingpin and cop. I think the name says alot about the movie and they should have named this one, American Story. But don't get me wrong, this is another great movie with both Denzel and Russell.

American Gangster is a wonderful movie. The plot is great and its even better with Denzel Washington in it. The movie is based on gang crime and is pretty violent. Wouldnt recommend for kids but a great movie for adults. Overall a wonderful movie.

I really liked this movie. It was pretty lond and there was a part where I started to get restless but that didn't last long and then it got very good! This tells about a true story that is very important but most people don't know about it.

This was such an awesome movie and had a great story. Its like Scarface but a lot better. Sure its 3 hours long but its totally worth it. If uve ever thought of watching this, dont waste another minute and go get it.

this is one of the best movies that i have seen in a while. denzel, of course, was superb. the cinematography was amazing. i wish that it would have been more of a biography but it was a great piece of fiction.

Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe are great actors. There is no way a film could be bad with those two. American Gangster is an enjoyable film. It has its slow parts, and I felt the best parts were given away in the trailer (but arent they always?), but overall it is worth seeing and having in your collection.

This is one of the best movies of 2007. All of the actors do a terrific job in all of their roles, and Ridley Scott's direction is great. Definitely one to see if you're a fan of gangster films.

I'll pretty much watch anything that Denzel is in, so we couldn't pass up getting this DVD from the $3.99 bin. As usual, he was really solid in his role. Definitely a movie I'd recommend, even to those who don't like Denzel as much as I do.

This is my favorite movie it is based on a true story too. Washington is a beast in it. T.I.P for the little bit he was in was good. It was better than training day... THIS MOVIE IS DOPE.

I purchased this movie the first day it was available and I was not disappointed. I wish the Academy would have recognized Denzel for his role in this film it was absolutely wonderful.

This is one of my favorite movies at a very good price. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a very interesting story based off of real events.

This to me is a combination of Schindler's List, Dead Presidents, and Training Day. It was good and surprising and if you want to see it then watch it. If you don't care then still watch it. Russ plays a sympathetic character and Denzel is just ruthless.

This movie is the real life story of Frank Lucas and his rise to power.With Denzel playing the ruthless gangster you can't lose.Denzel actually met Frank on the set of the movie and made the movie more inspiring to the real life story and events.

This was an excellent movie with 2 great actors! And its based on actual events/characters. A must have for the Blu-Ray collection!

it was a great movie and i am from the neighborhood that the movie was set in and i think they depicted the whole set up to the tee! great movie!

Movie was great.....superb,tremendous.......but Throw an intermission somewhere in the movie its so long,but it comes highly recommended

I expected a great movie from the actors and was not dsappointed. As a BlueRay disk the details were awesome.

Great addition to a Denzel movie collection. Story line well worth watching.
