Great movie I definitely recommend this it’s a classic

Not one of Tom Cruise's best movies, but it was okay

The story plot & characters are good & impressive.

its supposed to be based on true events, now i don't know how much of this was true but man what a crazy story stretching from having a man working for the US government to selling drugs for them to make money for other wars! its should be obvious now that some of those things you read about this are pretty much true since a real worker from a government branch came out with there truth and talked about this and in the end he ended up missing and was later found death. great film give it a look

I would have given this a 3.5 if available but it wasn't. This is a pretty decent movie, actually a good history lesson in fact as it tells of the sneaky dealings of our government about 30 years ago.

American Made is a decently made movie from 2017, starring Tom Cruise. It’s not a movie that one would be in those “must watch movies before you die” list, but is still an entertaining movie for the average audience. The 4K disc is far superior to its Blu-ray counterpart as it is able to present the movie far better, both through the video and audio quality. This movie has a very saturated look, allowing the 4K present a much clearer image. Overall, highly recommended.

American Made was a movie I enjoyed watching but it's not one that blew me away by any stretch of the imagination or has high replay value. It had a good story line but I can't say that it had me at the edge of my chair for most of the movie. I watched it on my LG C6 OLED TV, Samsung UBD-K8500 4K bluray player and 7.1.4 sound system and from a visual/audio perspective, both the picture quality and sound were satisfactory. It's not an overly colorful film nor are the visuals extremely impressive but that is okay given the style of film.

This is a great movie even though I am not a big fan of Tom Cruise. It’s a very interesting movie being that it is a true story. Also, I am very happy with my purchase because I got a great deal on it and it also included a digital copy of the movie. This is very important to me because I like to be able to watch the movie without loading a disc and on multiple devices.

Holds your attention with a lot of intrigue. Some on-location filming adds interest. Based on a true story; the gist of which is true, and all is plausible. This film is similar to the film "Blow" with Johnny Depp in that this is a true story of drug-smuggler, who in this instance is also employed as an associate, pilot for the CIA. If you liked the film "Blow"; you will like this and vice-versa. Some interesting drug-smuggling techniques. Today's drug-smugglers are taking notes.

Barry Seal, a TWA pilot, is recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America and soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States that spawned the birth of the Medellin cartel and eventually almost brought down the Reagan White House with the Iran Contra scandal. The Barry Seal you see onscreen is the man Cruise wants you to see: a guy with limited skills and a lot of dumb luck. It's an energetic and convincing performance.

American Made is a brilliant film that takes a crazy, depressing and obscene true story, and pushes it to filmmaking heights thanks to the charisma and gravity of Tom Cruise's performance, excellent direction from Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, The Bourne Identity), and a script that bustles with humor, even in the horror of such dire situations, from delivering weapons for the CIA to running drugs for the Medellin cartel. A must-see, and a must-own.

This is not a bad movie. Not a great one either but good enough to keep your attention. Cruise is in his element in this movie, the smirking good looking airline pilot turned CIA gun runner and dope smuggler. This kind of movie has been done before so nothing super original here but this one is based on a real person apparently. The 70s and 80s music soundtrack is worthwhile if you are into that era. Don't waste your money on the 4K version. Picture quality is awful and sound quality s even worse.

Based on a true story. Lots of great flying and plenty of recognizable bad guys. If you are a fan of the 80s you will love this movie.

Good job Tom Cruise and associates. This film is a TRUE STORY and never was supposed to be a "mainstream" film. Ron Howard originally signed on the direct it, but got "the Word" and bowed off... this slowed down the filming and more unfortunate things occured... an aircraft went down while filming... tragically taking the 2 lives. SEE it America, it happened...Bravo Cruise!

I didn't know what to expect going in to this movie and was pleasantly surprised. I knew it was based on a true story about a pilot but that was all. Tom Cruise plays a more grounded character in this one as a man who quickly gets in over his head and has some tough run ins with some truly bad guys. I liked the movie a lot and can recommend it to Cruise fans and really to anyone who likes a good story - well told.

Every part of the film is well done. On a technical level, I have no complaints. It reminded me of the DiCaprio movie "Catch me if you can". However, I would have liked a deeper understanding of Cruise's character in the movie, Barry Seals. The script focused on the action and sacrificed some of the character to do so. I would have preferred a little less action to have a little more character development.

Tom Cruise is still making hits in 2017. A somewhat under-the-radar movie, this has all kinds of excitement and the thrills of a drug-smuggling movie, centered around the Colombian cocaine trade in the 1980s. Just one question: Who the heck is Schafer?

You know some of this is fluff, but a lot is real. Possibly from different people, but still real. Would we do this? Could we do this? Yes. A crazy story that will let you know what the government is willing to risk to achieve their goals and how they think they can manage what they create. Good cast and an interesting history lesson.

One of the better Tom Cruise movies to come out lately, definitely the best since Edge of Tomorrow. Same director too. The 4K HDR treatment is less than impressive here, with some weird color choices and retro looking shots, but it still beats the pedestrian Blu Ray.
