The story of finding your place in life. Duty, honor, and family. This man who fights for his country does what he has to do. He comes back broken and finds the courage not only to find his own way back to his family but to help others find that courage too. Unfortunately he is killed by a fellow veteran he is trying help.

Clint East is an excellent film making ....always delivering something that will move an audience ( Even JERSEY BOYS has its moments ) . I knew the story of this picture but still hung on to every moment ...and had all my emotions pushed with the way he portrayed the story of the family . EXCELLENT FILM and FILM MAKING .

Originally saw it in theatres, and oh my was I impressed. Never knew who Chris Kyle was, prior to watching the film, but after learning more about him, I started to understand how important he was. Director Clint Eastwood knocked it out of the park with American Sniper and Bradley Cooper was just amazing.

After retiring two years ago with over twenty eight years in the Army, it stands to reason that i had to purchase this film this Memorial Day weekend. This film, as many others, reminds me of the lives lost, both on and off the battlefield. Lives given willingly for the protection of the freedoms we enjoy here in the US.

action packed with a personal connection to the characters. very authentic action that is believeable and not over the top. the personal story is something many people can relate to. over all very well done camera work and some good dialog. if you like action with a good story line you will get pulled in to this movie.

This film seems to accurately depict the struggles of being a soldier, going to war, and the difficulty of keeping a family together. Many people get caught up in politics and fail to appreciate the sacrifices made by the honorable men and women who give up their own freedom in the name of our constitutional rights.

This is one of my favorite war movies. There are great action sequences, but this movie is at its best when it delves into the emotional and psychological impact of war. Bradley Cooper gives an amazing performance as Chris Kyle. Celebrate America this 4th of July weekend by watching a movie about an American hero.

Although this movie was based on a book and was a true story, there were many elements that were given the Hollywood treatment. Characters condensed, clichéd enemy sniper, things other people did given to our hero to do, numerous elements that were embellished for the sake of entertainment value. If you are expecting a documentary you will be disappointed. If you want a good action/war picture based on a real guy you should find this exciting and insightful. Kyle was a flawed guy but he cared for the country and his fellow soldiers, at times to the detriment of his own family. He racked up enemy kills and saved the lives of countless soldiers.

Great movie that shows the realities of what are troops go through; the struggling of balancing family, defending your country, and handling the true horrors of war. Director Eastwood showed the true aspects of war. If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest you do. There is a reason it was the highest grossed film.

I really enjoyed American Sniper. It had good action, a good story, and it made me care about the characters. I won't spoil it, but it did not end how I thought it would. I didn't know the real story before watching the movie. I scrambled to google it and started reading about it right after the movie was over.

Just buy it. Amazing movie. Haven't seen one this good in a few years. Too bad the worst nominated movie won best picture, and though this doesn't appeal to the liberals and anti-Americans in Hollywood, it should have won a ton of awards and received many more positive press. Not some war garbage like Unbroken.

Clint Eastwood, did a great job directing this movie, as well as Bradley Cooper portraying Chris Kyle. American Sniper shows, what war does to the people left behind and that presenting, the fact of war does to the family and to the vets who have to go back into civilian life. Great war movie, but sad ending.

If you are a fan of American military war movies, or action movies in general, certainly you would like this film. If you've seen stuff like The Hurt Locker, Black Hawk Down, and other films related to American Veterans of Foreign Wars, then this is a great addition to any war movie buff's collection.

I buy few "movie" dvd's, but knew that I had to have this one. Patriotism and true American hero both come to mind. Also, the fact that it is a true story makes it very special. What a sad and unfortunate way that his life ended. I highly recommend this dvd to anyone who values freedom and is proud of the USA.

I really love this movie It follows Chris Kyle a US Navy Seal who is recognized as the most lethal sniper in US military history. This movie has its funny moments and of course sad moments. It is also directed by the legendary Clint Eastwood his knowledge of how a movie should be portrayed doesn't disappoint.

This movie is not only a great story, but the cinematography and acting are outstanding. You really can feel the emotional rollercoaster that must have been his life. It doesn't dwell on the killing but focuses on his troubles in living with his actions. Overall, one of the best military films I've ever seen.

I loved that this story is one soldier's perspective and experience of life at war, during war at home, and told personally. I bought this edition just to have the new extra features. This is my way of thanking and honoring Chris Kyle for his service and sacrifice. God bless him and his family!

This was a great movie. Knowing that it is based on a true story it is a very emotional force to witness. Bradley Cooper was fantastic as the leading actor. The cast was thoughtfully chosen, A film that will not be forgotten.

I was looking for this movie because I've never seen it I found it at Best Buy on sale so I decided to pick it up to add to my Blu ray collection I was pleasantly surprised it is a great movie and happy I got it at Best Buy for almost the price I would have rented it on digital so I definitely recommend

Very good movie. I love watching movies that are taken from real life. The only part that was kind of strange was the scene where he's holding his baby daughter and you could tell it was a fake baby. So sad that after four tours of duty in Irac he has to come home and get killed by someone he tried to help.
