Outstanding movie about an American Hero. The story of Chris Kyle is a very inspiring story about how he lived his adult life as a family man and probably the greatest sniper in American history. You get to see what he experienced throughout his career and sadly, the end of his life.

I'm not typically a Bradley Cooper fan, but his portrayal of Chris Kyle is very good and moving. The story is not a typical war saga but more based on Kyle's commitment to saving US soldier lives and seeking out the enemy sniper.

Only those who have been there can truly understand what our soldiers face and deal with when deployed; this helps some understand a little more the sacrafices they endure. They are truly the protectors of our freedom and deserve honor and respect for what they selflessly do for all of us!!

This is a great movie that seems to really show what soldiers have to go through during war. It's definitely a movie that you don't want to miss a minute of. It takes you through happiness and heartbreak, but leaves you understanding more about the mental trauma soldiers have to deal with.

Very controversial film on political lines but in my opinion a great film that doesn't lean as far to the right as it's made out to. It is the story of a warrior and viewpoints differing from Kyle's are presented on multiple occasions. If you like war films, buy this today. Bradley Cooper is excellent in this film, the action is very exciting and it can be very emotional. Some supporting acting (especially the plastic baby) some dialogue and overall direction could have been improved a bit. The Blu-ray itself is very good. Visually very sharp, albeit some minor flaws. Music and sound is top rate.

Great movie, but one that should be viewed with caution. If this type of movie is your genre, then its great. If someone does not like blood and glory, then no, it is not your type of movie. Story line really makes you contemplate impact of wars on veterans and how extra support is needed.

Best film of 2014! Clint Eastwood did an outstanding job directing this movie. The film shows what being in a war is like, and shows what soldiers have to deal with when they come back home. Chris Kyle was a true American Patriot! You will fight back tears at the end of this amazing movie!

This movie shows some hard realities of the present day style of war fighting. It shows a bit of what family mbrship go through back home. I've been to the Middle East and the dust storm scene is real. It is hard to fathom for a non military Mbr the reality of the Muslim mother and child.

Great movie about a great American hero. This is the kind of guy that we should be idealizing, not celebrities that a famous enough bc they have a big butt. True, real struggle of a solider and wife. Only thing is - is that I wish the ending was different. In real life and in the movie.

Clint Eastwood does a masterful job at telling the story of Chris Kyle and the toll war takes on both the soldiers and the family back home. I think every American should watch this movie to appreciate the sacrifices that are made on our behalf in order to protect the freedoms we enjoy.

I waited to see this movie until it was out on DVD. I watched the movie, the extras, and then the movie again. It's just that good. This isn't your typical "hoorah" military film. It's real and revealing of what not only military members face, but also their families. Tremendous film.

My husband & adult children & I watched this together. We have a few friends & family members who are serving/have served in the military. I think this movie is a good eye opener as to what price is paid by some of the families of military & the vets. This was done tastefully as well.

Bradley Cooper transforms into real life vet Chris Kyle, the most celebrated sniper in US Military history. Sienna Miller gives her best performance maybe ever as a wife trying to hold on to her family and reclaim the man she fell for from his own personal prison. Eastwood's direction is spot on and this film gives an even handed take on the horrors of modern warfare, the price and effect on those who serve our country and their families. Packed with extras with video quality that appears as if the fire and sand are coming through your TV screen. One of the Year's Top 10 Films, no doubt.

Clint Eastwood another great for film directing and action. This motion picture is a biography to one in that is foreal historical for many different reasons salute and Rest In Peace .

The movie follows the book fairly well but leaves many incidents (noted in the book) out to streamline the storyline. This movie/book is a soldiers view and rightly so does not think too deeply into the political concerns. It is what it is and I hope we never ask our soldiers to debate niceties while placing their lives on the line. That said I enjoyed the visceral punch of the movie. It stimulates thinking (by the viewer) about why we are involved and why the citizens there cannot sustain a non hostile environment without USA soldiers doing all the heavy lifting? Anyone remember Vietnam?

Loved this movie in the theater and love it at home. American Sniper gives viewers a glimpse at a part of war that is normally unseen. It takes an incredible amount of intestinal fortitude to perform the mission Chris Kyle performed for his country. I pray he is resting peacefully...

The movie is a wonderful portrayal of the real tolls that war can take on someone. Agree or disagree about his actions, no one can deny the toll it takes on someone. The movie isn't about how good this man was, it's about his life after, how love story and how they are affected by war.

This is a great movie. Lots of intense gun fights. Lots of action. Sad what happens to him in the end. I would recommend this movie to be added to your collection. You won't be diapionted.it also came with a regular dvd ,so you can give it to someone who doesn't have a blu-ray player.

Good movie, that just tells the story of an American hero that does a good job balancing needs of the job, ethics, PTSD, internal conflict, and more. Not just wartime action. The ending felt a bit rushed, but overall a great tribute story to a tragic loss.

This was so awesome. It not only delt with the enemy but that the sniper was a human being. He did not relish the fact he had to kill, but that it was a necessity, not a fun thing. The movie also showed the what the family goes through, thank God for men/woman like them. Thank you!!!!
