The ring shown in the photo only functions as a holder for the watch charger. However, it's way more useful to have this form holding the watch charger than the way it comes from Apple.

My phone charges just as quickly as it normally would, and the Watch stand acts as a clock to some extent. (As seen in the picture).

You must be sure the charging light comes on - if you set the phone down, it doesn't always charge. move it over a 1/2" inch and it starts charging.

I can’t just set my phone down on it and be done, I need to visually align it and make sure LED comes on. The watch charger is less of a problem, as it uses the standard Apple charger inset on the mount. The only problem I’ve had with the watch charger is that it is not compatible with my heavy duty case on my watch.

I must not have read well but you will need a usb watch charger for the watch portion to work. I was not aware until after I purchased. I got one and it works great !

Wish we were aware what iPhone they were compatible with before purchasing.

So you got to move it around until the blue light appears. Also, you will need USB to USB-C adapter for the watch charger.

It was not clear that you need to have the magnetic watch charger to insert into this housing. As a result, it makes it more expensive than some alternatives. Work fine.
