This only charges my phone when it's turned off. I don't know why but when the phone is on this actually drains my battery instead of charges it. I actually now just use my portable Anker charger which works much better. I would not recommend this unless you have a basic phone that doesn't require quick charge or Q.

Excellent Car Charger; Decent Car Locator

The Roav 2 port car charger does an excellent job recharging both my google pixel xl and samsung galaxy s9 phones simultaneously with lightning speed. I highly recommend this charger for fast charging of your latest gadgets in your vehicle. The added bonus of the Roav car charger is that it also has a feature that uses your phone’s GPS and bluetooth functions to set the location of your parked car when you turn off the ignition. It then embeds the location of your parked car graphically onto a Google map via the Roav Charger app. Then from your phone’s GPS and a Google map, you can see where you are relative to your parked car. This is supposed to assist you in locating your car if you forgot where you parked it. From the Roav Charger app you can take a picture to assist you with remembering your vehicle’s parking location and also set a parking timer for those times that you need to remember to move your car or feed a curbside parking meter. This is nothing extraordinary that your phone doesn’t already have. The Roav app simply consolidates your phone’s camera app and the clock/timer app into a bundled package. In my testing, the Roav car locator app works well as long as the phone’s GPS is working well. However, once I entered a concrete subterranean parking structure where my phone’s GPS could no longer pinpoint my location, the Roav app displayed “Weak GPS Signal. Failed to locate parking spot.” Finally, the Roav car charger also has a feature that monitors your car battery’s voltage by relaying the voltage reading to the Roav Charger app. This is supposed to help alert you when your car’s battery needs to be checked up by your mechanic. I used a digital multimeter hooked directly to my car battery to cross check the accuracy of the voltage reading from the Roav charger. My mutimeter read 12.6 volts and the Roav app displayed 12.3 volts. The Roav charger is pretty darn accurate. I was impressed. In summary, I think Anker has developed a great product at a reasonable price. It’s a fast charger with some nice bonuses to help you remember where you parked and to monitor your car’s battery. I have already recommended this device to my friends and coworkers.

This may be the coolest charger yet! I love the app functions, including the last registered parking spot. The built on GPS will be great if someone stole your car, use the app and check its position. Does it charge? Heck yeah it does and fast! Can you change its color? A million different colors!!!! Can you charge 2 devices at once? BOOM!!! Yeah you sure can!! Sweet charger for sure and us way better than the one you bought at the corner store or Worlds Largest Truck Stop on I-80 in Iowa. Yeah, it is that good!

I didn’t see this one coming but this might be my highest rated device of the year! When I first received it I figured it would just be an nice looking charger for my car. I drive around constantly for work so can always use one of these babies. I was excited to see the support for Quick Charge 3.0 for my Android device. It also supports PowerIQ 2.0 for other devices such as iPhone. Unboxing is pretty simple, the device is neatly nested in the orange packaging. Installation is as simple as can be with a plug in and a download of the app for full functionality. The app is where this thing blew me away! On the more trivial side of things you can change the color of the lights on the device, this is amusing and aesthetically pleasing. Then you notice the power features. Of most importance to me is the ability to monitor the battery charge of the car over time. I pulled it up and it showed 14v on the battery. I could have used this a few weeks back when I had a dead battery I had to replace. With this device I might have been able to see the drain taking place which could have been a warning sign. Second, it connects to your phone via bluetooth allowing you to use the GPS on your car to determine the last known location of your car when you park. In busy parking lots this can be extremely useful. Charging my wifes iPhone XS Max and my Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact simultaneously with fast charging enabled on both devices is simply amazing. The device works perfectly, has power features, looks cool and is highly useful. Buy one these immediately. Anker has a hit on their hands in this little toy.

    A SMART CAR CHARGER

The smartcharge spectrum just happens to be a smart device that delivers on its core function - charging my phone. This charger fits in the cigarette lighter/accessory plug on your vehicle. The charger has 2 ports, so 2 devices can be charged at one time. One port offers PowerIQ 2.0 charging while the second port offers PowerIQ 2.0 plus Quick Charge 3.0. There are a number of quick charge power outputs which the charger switches to automatically, but overall it can produce 30 watts of power. The options give you plenty of power to charge just about any device that can be charged through a usb cable. Charging is quick. This device has some other added features as well. It has an led ring that can be customized to whatever color you like through the app. This charger has a battery monitoring feature and a vehicle location feature all accessible through the free app. If you are constantly parking you car/truck and can't find it, this feature alone would be worth the price. This charger does what it is advertised to do, is easy to use and the app is simple and effective. Seems to be a good product. It also comes with an 18 month warranty in case there are any issues.

Good Car Charger with Bells and Whistles

The Roav SmartCharge Spectrum car charger is a dual port USB charger with a few bells and whistles. The charger is well constructed. The only downside is that it sticks out of the port on my car about 1-1/2 inches, and is easy to deflect back-and-forth when plugging in charging cables. I prefer the lower profile, flush chargers. It seems to charge my iPhone within an acceptable time period. So, it functionally works well as a charger. To utilize the charger’s “bells and whistles”, it requires the installation of an app on your phone. From the app, you can change the color of the LED ring around the edge of the charger, track the voltage of your car battery, and track the location of your parked car. The only downside of the app is that it requires to always track your location which uses about 8 to 10% of my iPhone’s battery in a 24-hour period. If you park frequently in a large parking lot, it would be helpful, but for me, it is an unnecessary drain on my phone’s battery. There are features within the iPhone that accomplish the same thing. Hence, I have disabled the car location feature. Tracking and trending of your car battery/engine voltage is a nice added feature. The ability to change the color of the charger’s LED is also nice, but it will default to red if it is not connected to your phone. Overall, it is a good charger. I would value speed of charging over any of the other extra features included with this charger, and it does well in this area. If its price is within what you are willing to spend, it is a recommended buy.

This charger works as advertised and the build quality seems impressive. It's not too big, the ability to change the lighting color is fun, and there are extra features that make it more than just a glorified outlet to plug your phone into. Automatically marking your parking spot can be particularly useful. One complaint? I wish it had some sort of auto-shut off feature for when you're not running your car's engine. As best I can tell, this device continues to draw power from the car's battery when the engine is off - which is to be expected, I suppose, but it would sure be nice if it didn't. You have to be pretty disciplined about always pulling it out of the socket when you park. Otherwise, you can count on the app giving you a message after a few minutes that your car battery is running low and needs to be charged. If nothing else, that will help remind you to unplug it but still... Just would be nice if it could automatically shut itself off and not draw power. Maybe that's not possible. Anyway, one other piece of advice for Pixel 3 owners: this device is not compatible with the rapid charging technology on the Pixel. I had no idea there even were competing technologies for rapid charging, but such is the world we live in. It will charge the Pixel just fine with no problems and at a fairly decent speed, it just won't do so at the same speed as the charger that came with the phone. So make sure your phone specifically uses the Quick Charge branded technology before buying, if rapid charging is a deal breaker for you.
