This cooler is incredibly useful. It's a great idea executed well. Drinks and other things are kept at the exact temperature you'd like. The battery lasts roughly a day or so and has space for another additional battery.

I would have given 5 stars but: Hard to roll with handle and keep bumping my feet when it's trailing behind me. Not quite long enough. Really heavy especially when there's food inside. Hard to lift in and out of the truck for older couple Works really well with temperature staying cool. Noticed that the cooler doesn't automatically switch to Bluetooth when leaving home or hotel network after a few hours of not connecting to iPhone. You have to go through connection process each time to turn it on. Shipping box pretty damaged but contents okay.

Amazing items, makes so much sense compared to a plain cooler. I am using the cooler as an overflow fridge/freezer to the home fridge setup. Brilliantly, it will function during a power outage. There are so many use cases for this, plus the ability to use the rechargeable battery for something else. Very quiet, superb features... And backed by Anker, cannot ask for more.

Definitely only buy when its on sale, it works amazing, the temperature sensors are a little off so i compensate by setting it a little colder. I wish the extra battery had a more reasonable price too. Overall it will last two days on a single battery inside the house, if you’re outside and it’s hot it’ll last about a day. Solar isnt the most efficient charging(can never seem to get above 50w input) but a power station charges it just fine(95w DC).

This review is coming from the perspective of someone who enjoys being outdoors and has several major branded rotomolded coolers. Typically, a cooler is one of the most critical pieces of gear when organizing for a trip. Being able to keep food and drink cold for extended periods of time is essential to having a successful experience. I have several brands of coolers from Rtic, Canyon, Yeti, and other soft sided backpack styles. Sizes range from 20L to 52L so this 58L will be the biggest I own. I already rely on reusable ice molds vs loose ice in my coolers to try and prevent the dreaded “everything gets soggy” situation. I keep ice for drinks but thats entirely separate! Unboxing was a slight panic due to the condition of how the shipper arrived, thankfully how its packed and the durability of the cooler itself overcame how badly damaged the package arrived. Included in the box is the cooler, charging cord options and wheel chalks. I did wipe it down before charging it for the first time. One handy feature is each compartment has a built in LED light that illuminates the inside when you open one of the lids. They also have integrated a accessory rail into the side of the cooler for additional functionality if you wanted to purchase additionally. One free feature was the bottle opener built into the coolers side. App Integration: Anker does app integration right, I have some of their Solix portable power stations with the app integrations and everything just works. Very similar to my experience with the Everfrost 2, app and cooler synced quickly and I was able to update firmware without any headaches. After getting familiar with all the additional cooler features and settings, I was ready to start dialing in temperatures in both of the individually controlled sections. The 58L model does come with 2 individually temperature controlled zones. I am really excited to have a dedicated freezer, high five for campsite popsicles! Separate compartments with individual temp controls is the biggest single feature of this, flexible to allow parallel temps for tons of cooling storage or mix it up and have a fridge/freezer combo. I have tested this and it will hold -3 all day in the sunlight! I attached a 60w solar panel and it kept it at or above 92% battery all day while keeping a bunch of items totally frozen. Game changer for not having to constantly worry about ice levels and draining what’s melted. Size/Dimensions/Weight: This cooler is BIG! I foresee someone needing the extra storage to have to make a decision on being able to transport/store a cooler of this size. I have a photo to compare dimensions against a 52L ultra light Rtic model that has been my go to cooler. I did confirm the height allows me to store it under my truck’s tonneau cover so that is always convenient for security. Weight is also something to consider, I feel lots of “team lifts” are in my future when this bad boy is fully loaded. Anker specs this at 61lbs empty which is unruly for some, load it up and you are dealing with 100+lbs easily. Anker did design integrated wheels and a dual purpose grab/pull handle to make moving this around on the ground easier. Battery life: Anker advertises 34 hours on a single battery, I was able to run some test both inside and outside to validate against ambient temperatures. Average temps outside in early March are still 50 degrees or less so that won’t give me a fair run time test, so I also did similar testing inside which would be about 67 degrees. I put colder items inside to also help with the regulation of inside temps and the app and cooler display made it very convenient to keep tabs on temperatures. But to be fair I also put some items that were fridge temps that I wanted to freeze and tested how it decreased and held temp with items that were technically warmer, absolutely no issues at all. Items froze in record time. Concerns: AC adaptor brick got extremely hot, I watched on the app how consistent the input watts were and it held steady at 85w-86w. I won’t leave it unattended due to how hot the adaptor got. Operating Noise is obvious and within each cooling zone is a lid mounted fan to help move around the cold air, these fans do make noise and depending on the proximity to the cooler could impact your experience. One additional thing is I am not sure there is a way to set up notifications within the app that would let a user know when battery life is less than a certain percentage or estimated battery life remaining reaches a certain threshold. I also would like some indication if one of the zones changes temp dramatically. I can’t wait for this cooler to enhance all our family adventures, it will have a almost permanent home in the bed of the truck.

I can always appreciate when consumer tech tries to do something that you do not see often - and that’s exactly what the Anker Solix Everfrost 2 does. It brings a level of tech into an area I had not considered before and makes for a great outdoor companion. PROS: - Unboxing this cooler, this thing is huge! I mean it’s to be expected for a cooler that has all this tech in it. But largely there is not a whole lot of setup that needs to be done besides powering on, charging, and connecting to the app! - The App is a huge pro of this as not only does it work really well but its a great way to control the cooler on the go. It allows you to do a number of things like set the temp of the two compartments, notifies you if a lid is open, and you can see power levels and power output. - There is a lot of space in both compartments which is awesome and what you want it for. The space is great but having the two compartments is a great feature as it allows you to cool them at different temperatures depending on what is being held in each. - The display on the cooler is also really nice and high end which allows you to control options on your cooler as you go along without the app. - The battery that powers the cooler can be used to power your stuff on the go as well with a USB A and USB C port. Very useful and nice! - The cooler itself can be powered via battery, via plugging it into an outlet, or via solar panels as well! The Solar panel input is marked at 100w which is all in all really great - and the plug in power makes for fast charging too. A single battery is rated at about 52 hours of use time for powering the cooler which is great for afternoons out or weekend camping trips. - It has of course a lot of nice little touches like a handle that works as a table, a bottle opener, really high quality lid for prep work, and of course wheels on it for moving around. CONS: - Understandably, the cooler can put out some noise when cooling. It’s mostly something that does not bother me but I could see it being annoying if it was inside a tent or something. - Anker offers additional accessories to buy like another battery, but those are all added expenses and I would have liked to see more of those as standard. BOTTOM LINE: - The Anker SOLIX Everfrost 2 provides an exceptional way to keep your food and drinks cool for longer, while being a utility option to power your other tech needs on the go. It’s a great mix of high end functionality while still providing the basics of what people would want in something like this. I think this is going to be used a lot this summer by me and plenty others!

TLDR: Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it is heavy as heck. But what it does, it does very well, and can really help in a lot of ways. I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster and the prime logistics guy for my wife's friend group, so needing a cooler for a campout or beach/park event is a pretty common thing for me. That being said, it would seem we are in a down time and I have not been able to test out the Anker SOLIX Everfrost 2 in the field but I did run it through some paces to have a better idea of what it will be able to do when it does head outside. Rather than my normal list of what I like or don't like, I'm just going to hit some main points that I think everyone should be aware of when looking at or purchasing the Everfrost 2. Weight: HOO BOY does this thing weigh a ton! And that is empty and without the batteries! I hope you have a flat load SUV or truck, because if you have to drop this into the trunk of a sedan, I pity your back! Build: This thing is SOLID. That helps to contribute to the weight problem, but it also helps out tremendously when maintaining temps. Battery: The battery packs for this thing are really cool. Loading them up in the end of the Everfrost 2 feels like I'm loading in artillery shells or some sci-fi component into the Enterprise. It took 3:20 to fully charge the battery pack from what it arrived at (don't know the exact percentage but it was on one dot), to full. That was on a high speed charger with a 100w/5A cable. It drew about 59w for the entire charge time. That one battery was able to get one compartment to -4F and the other to 32F in about an hour. I then put in some meat from the refrigerator and a couple of six-packs of soda from the cabinet. It took 1:10 for the meat to get to a 'hard' freeze. The sodas were nice and chilled as well. It burned about 30% of the battery getting there. I took out the meat and kept the sodas in there. I wanted to see how long the remaining 68% of battery would last for maintaining temp. I checked up on it repeatedly through the afternoon and it looked like it was sipping about 1% of the battery every 30 minutes. I figured I would at least get until mid morning the next day out of the battery but when I woke up and checked, the battery had conked out and while the cooler was still cool, and the freezer side still below freezing, the temps were 17F/35F. That is from the single battery that comes with the Everfrost 2. I'm gonna buy another. Another great thing about the battery pack is that since it is removable, it can be used as a power base-station wherever you need it when the cooler isn't in use. It can keep all kinds of things charged up. That being said, I wish that Anker had a cover or something for the battery to help keep the contacts clean/undamaged. They provide a tray to protect the one open slot for holding accessories, and yes, the battery has small feet to keep the contacts off the surface, these aren't cheap and could even use just a silicone cover. Storage Space: Yes there is less than a regular open cooler but your food items don't have to share that space with ice and later water. You get less space, but ALL of it is usable and nothing gets wet in the process! Utility: For me, the greatest thing that this thing can do is actually freeze and keep things frozen. Regular coolers can't do that. All they can do is slow the thaw at best. The fact that it does this in a 'dry' environment is also going to be awesome for overnight trips. I can't tell you how many times I have had items leak in water from the cooler and get ruined. I had taken to removing food from their regular packaging and putting them into vacuum sealed packs, but that took a TON of prep time and created a lot of waste. Now I don't have to worry about it. The other thing I love about this thing is that I'm not going to worry as much during our next power outage. I'll be able to fire up the Everfrost 2 and throw all the frozen stuff and medications in there that would normally be ruined. That right there is worth the price of entry for me. I'm not a fisherman, but I could see this being a really useful item for them as well. Being able to clean and freeze your catch out in the field for a long fishing trip. Pretty neat! I'm going to have to buy the 100w solar panel for this thing, because that will make it complete. I'd like to see a pack sold with the solar panel and perhaps the extra battery. Conclusion: While I did not have the ability to run it through its real world tasks, just the testing I did makes me very happy with the Everfrost 2. It may be expensive and heavy, but it is also filled with all kinds of possible utility, that it is a great thing to have for any family.

A Cool Cooler with Even Cooler Tech

PROS + Dual-zone cooling works fantastic with set temperature ranges from -4F to 68F which can be independently controlled at different temperature extremes + Cools quite quickly over about an hour + Anker app works great for connecting to the cooler via bluetooth, with full control of the cooler and no connection issues whatsoever + Can be powered via power cable, 288Wh LFP batteries (1 included), & solar panels + 3 cooling modes for fast cooling, optimized performance, and energy efficiency + Super durable construction and water resistance, this thing feels like a tank + Very large if you need a big cooler and want to fit a lot into it + Batteries can be used as power banks for charging devices with USB-A & USB-C + Included shelf & storage cubby, ruler on the top, and other quality of life additions SO-SO * Great capacity at 58L but very heavy at 70 lbs and quite wide, which makes hauling it around a not insignificant challenge * Still less capacity than a normal cooler of this size, but with self-cooling, you do get room back from not needing ice * Can last quite long on a single 288Wh LFP battery, but quoted 34 hour runtime is a stretch unless under ideal conditions THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT The Anker SOLIX Everfrost 2 electric cooler is a big deal in multiple ways. It is extremely flexible to its core, offering a 72 degree Fahrenheit temperature swing from -4F to 68F across two fully independent zones, which can be powered by wall, car, battery, & solar power. The batteries themselves can act as a power bank for your other devices, you can control the cooler fully via bluetooth with the Anker app, and you get an included shelf and additional cubby storage as well. When operating, it's quiet while cooling, and silent once it hits its operating temperature. It is very large, even by large cooler standards, and even heavier at almost 70 lbs before loading anything into it. This thing looks, acts, and feels like a beast. While it has some quirks, it is undoubtedly a cooler for those who need a cooler that covers all their bases, and then some. Future proofed for almost all cooler use cases. I tested the cooler by charging the battery to 100% using my laptop charger, which took several hours, and then ran the cooler exclusively off of the battery, with one zone set to a freezer temp of 16F and one set to a fridge temp of 37F. Starting at an ambient room temperature of around 68F, the cooler took about an hour and 20% battery to reach the desired temps in the default “Smart” power delivery mode. From there, leaving the cooler alone except to occasionally add/remove some items, the cooler lasted about 26 hours on battery, short of the quoted 34 hours, but I would guess setting the power mode to Eco, and pre-cooling it to the desired temps before using battery would probably push it to that 34 hour mark. The battery itself is a 288Wh LFP battery which can also be used to power your external devices via USB-A and USB-C, and can be augmented with a second 288Wh battery if you want to give extra battery capacity to the cooler. The cooler itself is made of a hard plastic with plastic covers, which feels very durable. The cooler doors are lightweight, and the only real complaint I have about the build quality is some of the plastic covers over the battery ports and included accessories can feel a bit cheap, but this is a super minor complaint. The doors themselves work great, and while you don’t get much feedback when they close to confirm they are actually sealed (again another very minor nitpick), I never had any issues with the cooler not sealing correctly. I also like that with the cooler you get a shelf on the side which can be propped up, and if you don’t use the other battery slot, you can use it as a cubby for additional storage. Even the lid has a ruler etched on it which is a nice touch as well. You can use the handle on the side to move the cooler with the included wheels, which is great because when filled, the cooler can get extraordinarily heavy. Definitely look at the measurements before committing to ensure you can transport it, and it is best to bring another person for hauling it around. Thankfully, once set-up, you can very easily control the cooler via the Anker app when connected over bluetooth, which lets you do everything you would want and then some, including temperature control, battery monitoring, power mode switching, power usage, firmware updates, display controls, and more. All-in-all, it took me maybe 30 minutes to get up and running with the cooler once it was powered on and ready to go. On the whole, the cooler is on the pricey side, but I will say you do get a lot of bang for that buck. This cooler is a freezer, a refrigerator, a container, and can be fully self-contained with battery power. With charged batteries and a solar panel (separate purchase), you could easily run this cooler for days with no external power cord needed, which is great for camping. Really, the only complaint I have is the size which is a gift and a curse. You get a lot of capacity, but lose a lot of portability. As long as you know what to expect, and you have the space, you will be alright. I highly recommend this cooler for those with the need for the flexibility it offers and excellent performance at what it claims to do.

After years of running everything from ice chests to Dometic setups, I can say the EverFrost 2 hits that sweet spot for serious overland use. What I dig: Dual-zone fridge/freezer means no more playing Tetris with food and drinks. It cools fast from ambient to ice-cold in 15 minutes. Runs off AC, DC, solar, or the built-in 288Wh battery. I’ve gotten 43–54 hours off one charge in Eco mode. The wheels and handle make moving it around camp way easier than lugging dead weight. What’s not perfect: She’s heavy, no way around it—loaded up, it’s a two-person lift. The fan makes some noise at night. Noticeable if you're sleeping nearby. Battery claims are optimistic. Bring a second one if you’re out more than a day or two without charging. Bottom line: For overlanders who want real refrigeration without the ice mess, this cooler is a solid piece of gear. Reliable, flexible, and rugged enough for the trail. Just plan your power and pack accordingly.

The Anker Solix everfrost 2 is a great electric cooler. I have the 1st version which I love as well. The second version is improved in every way. More storage space inside, faster cooling with the fans and more even cooling, one of the handles is now flush with the cooler allowing it to fit in more spaces and the dual battery option. I use solar panels on my camping trips to keep the batteries charged up if going for 4 or more days. For a weekend trip 2 batteries will be just fine with no need to worry about charging. Not having to use ice is a game changer for camping. Ice is not always available and food can get soaked with melted ice. I no longer have to worry about contaminated ice water from my uncooked meats. This cooler will go to -4F, so I can either freeze water to make ice for drinks or take ice cream with me on a camping trip. Batteries will be drained a lot quicker if used as a freezer, so please be aware of that.

Pros: Quieter than wind and road noise. My truck interior is very quiet. Battery can last days in moderate exterior temps Very low power requirement Freezer is a true freezer, it makes ice if you have ice trays Lids beep if left open Cons: Big and heavy, especially when loaded No tie downs to secure to vehicle IPX3 water rating, don't leave in truck bed, or rain Got the Solix Everfrost 2 a week ago just before a quick road trip to Maine. It is a bit larger than expected. Until you see it in person, for me, it was hard to visualize the size. This is a very big dual cooling system. Extremely easy to use and setup. And for my road trip it might have been overkill this time, but still great to have cold drinks and snacks 24/7. Yet, once you have it. You will likely find many more uses than just camping trips. I see this perfect for long haul truck drivers. My main use case will be bulk grocery club runs every month or so. Since my clubs are an hour away and usually become all day trips where we eat out. Finally, I can get ice cream in the summer and know it won't be slowly melting. Setup: Once delivered Anker recommends letting it sit flat and level for 3 hours before plugging in to charge. Same requirement as real fridges and freezers. After plugged in, you can connect to the app which includes all the info you need for temps and power consumption. Or just set the temp with the buttons on the cooler. I'm still learning which mode is best. Smart mode has been great so far. Size, weight and features: Far more size and weight than any cooler I have ever owned. It is really a 2 person lift, maybe more if full. The lift handle, table side is great, but the recessed grab handle battery side can make lifting a little awkward when full. Lifting into a truck cab or bed, grip on battery side is lessened. Full hand grip on both sides might have been better on this size cooler. You get 2 compartments with easy button press lids with soft close function. And both compartments can be either freezer or refrigerator. And it really reaches freezer temps quick. Both sides have an interior light and lid fan to circulate the chilled air in their compartment. Lids will beep if left open after about 2 minutes. Each side can hold 2 layers of 16 standing 12-16oz cans (32 cans per side) with a little room to spare on sides and top. You also get a drain plug in both sides for I guess condensation or potential spills. There is a bright, easy to read info screen and buttons on the cooler for settings. Sadly, It is not a touch screen, but a rather easy to navigate menu system with a separate button for temperature control for either side or you can use the app. Also included is 2 plastic wheel chocks, 12v (vehicle cigarette plug) and household 120v power adapters. The power cords can be stored in the second battery compartment if not using a second battery. Battery: Only have had a week with the cooler and so far the battery is good for a few days use. But it also was not very hot when I used it (Maine in March). The same 3 days use in winter are likely going to be very different in August. Hopefully Anker will have a sale on the second battery. I like that they have made these batteries removable like power tools have done for years. Including USB-A and C ports is a nice bonus. Maybe they will merge this battery idea into their power stations like another brand has done. Noteworthy: When I ordered there were a few plastic accessories pictured (cup holder, utensil and fishing rod holders), sadly they were not included. It only includes 1 battery and a second one is another $200. IPX3 weather rating means you shouldn't leave this in the bed of a truck or exposed to any wet weather. Bit disappointed by this. Without tie downs or second handle on the cooler. This is potentially a lot of weight that can shift in quick driving maneuvers and especially if you have a panic stop. Best to only have this on the floor of your vehicle. In my 2022 Ram 1500 crew cab. It requires both rear 60/40 seats to be up. Potential problem if we also bring the dog. Just be aware this probably only fits in the largest cars, or suvs and trucks. Probably not a great choice if you own a compact car. Luckily there are smaller Anker options. Overall a great fridge/freezer system for those on the go who need a low power or battery driven way to chill their food for many days. We plan to buy a larger sailboat soon and this will be great low power way to keep food on board if we don't have adequate systems built in. Or if you like being prepared for power outages. This might be perfect to save expensive food from going to waste if you do not already have emergency backups or generator.

Love this cooler! Being able to remotely set the temperature on each side, having it hold a charge for hours as well makes this cooler a must have for folks going on trips, either in the car or staying in a hotel. Say good-bye for the need for ice as this is a portable fridge on wheels. Super smart cooler, lots of space and a must have!

This cooler is big and a bit heavy. It does have benefits of being solid. It cools down quickly and the battery last a while. It feels solid and has lots of room. The big wheels make is easily portable .

I’ve used the Anker SOLIX EverFrost 2 mainly for road trips and camping, and it’s been a great experience. It cools fast, maintains temperature well, and I love that each side can be set independently — perfect for using one as a fridge and the other as a freezer. The build quality is excellent, though it’s heavy once loaded, so the wheels are definitely a must. Battery life is decent, but even with both batteries it didn’t last a full 24 hours with both compartments running. It needs daily charging for multi-day trips, but AC and car charging both work well. It’s also quiet and solidly built, though it can’t be used while stored vertically due to the fan placement in the lids. Overall, this is a well-designed cooler that’s ideal for short trips, tailgating, or travel when power is nearby. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality and features make it worth considering.

Keeps temperature well within a couple degrees, even if you have different temperature settings going on. Heavy, but not much else on the market with this build quality and performance. App is nice and solar panel will help keep power on he road. Took it on a 12 hour road trip and it kept cool and freezer was at -2F. If you don’t mind the weight this is the cooler to go with.

Plugged it in to test it out and froze my drinks on one side and kept them cool on the other. It’s big, weighs a good amount, and seems very impressive. I bought it for out of town trips to the river but can easily see this as a home backup for when the power goes out. Also when we have too many groceries in the fridge I can use this as well with free power since we have solar panels. Since it is new I have no idea if this product is any good for longevity, but I do have the Best Buy warranty plan on it and that is another plus in my book.

I have been eyeing the Anker Everfrosts since they first came out. I'm not a camper but thought they would be better than the traditional throwing ice in the cooler when we have people over. I finally bought one thinking I'd probably return it after my rationale thought process kicked in. We are having work done outside our house and figured it was a good way to test it. We stocked it with water and other various drinks at 37 degrees so the workers could have nice cold drinks as needed. The Everfrost 2 worked like a champ off the single battery. Even in 100+ degree heat the battery was able to last through the day, even when it was inadvertently left on the driveway which caused the Everfrost 2 to run under more strensous conditions. On a "normal" summer day the battery was at 75-80% by the time their day ended. The workers loved it and kept thanking us for the constantly cold drinks. We discovered other use cases for the cooler as well. During the summer we have a fair number of power outages (yay New Jersey), so we realized it would work great during those times in addition to our original usage scenario of when people are over and hanging outside. Is it worth the $1100 MSRP? No, but if you're able to catch it on sale it is worth it, even for us non-camper types.

One of Anker’s best products and I don’t say that lightly. The battery life exceeds expectations and even after a few hours of running on battery, plugging it back in both prioritizes, keeping the cooler running while recharging the battery at a respectable rate. Storage is excellent and being able to have just one side powered on is a boost. I highly recommend.

Having the temps set at 38 degrees I got about 28 hours with just one battery. That's with an empty cooler. Haven't used it on the road trip yet. I'll update when that happens over the holidays. App seems to work great also.
