Fails after first attempt
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I cannot be certain if I received a faulty unit, the earbuds work properly once and only once after each reset. After putting the buds back in the case, it would not connect and randomly turns itself off. These are results on an iPhone 11. My android phone completely fails to recognize the earbuds, and my Windows laptop would only send signals to one earbud.

Not a big fan, Consumer Reports recommended these
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things worked good at first but the volume was kinda quiet even all the way up. Then after like a month the left one turns on but it will not sync up with the right one which is the master ear peice. If you only want to use one earbud at a time it must be the right one. You cannot just use the left earbud.

Worked for a month
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Barely used them and when I finally started their pairing and synching got all screwed up. I keep having to reset them and then the next day it doesn’t work again. Also picks and chooses when it wants to connect to my phone.

Deal-breakers. Should have returned within 14 days
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the fit and the sound is okay too, but there were a few things I didn't like. First, it was very difficult to pair one with the other. Then, I found out one is the master bud and has to "connect" first. Then put the slave bud in the case, close it, open it again, and the slave bud should pair. Also, the slave bud won't work independently from the master bud. Secondly, the battery is at most half what was advertised, 3.5 hours not 7. Lastly, I did not like the "tapping" controls. It felt like I was tapping my ear drums.

If possible, please try the following steps to see if the issue persists:
-Make sure the charging case has enough power (at least two white indicators on the case). Note: after the earbuds are fully charged, the steady white light on the earbuds will shut off.
-Take the earbuds out of the case and see if a flashing white light comes on. If it doesn't, try manually pressing the button or touchpad of the earbuds to power them on.
-Try to use a terrycloth/cotton swab with a bit of alcohol to clean the contact pins both in the charging case and on earbuds to ensure a better connection.
-Try using another micro USB cable to power the charging case.
We now have two versions of this item, and the serial number (SN) is located in different places on the different versions. The SN looks something like "SN: ABC123XXX".
1. If the serial number is printed inside the charging case, search "h0g9UZIEgJo" on YouTube for detailed steps on how to reset the headphones. Make sure there is a red light flashing 3 times after you hold down the touchpad for 7 seconds.
2. If the serial number is printed on the charging cable that came with your earbuds, please search "4rNVJooT1KU" on YouTube to follow the detailed steps to reset the headphones. Make sure there is a red light flashing once when you quickly tap the touchpad on the earbud 4 times, which means the reset was successful.

Not worth it!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these based on the reviews on this site. There definitely not worth it. They cut out all the time and the sound quality is something you would expect from a pair of buds you spent 5 bucks on at a 7 11. I would not recommend

Overpriced and Underperforming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Anker Liberty Air X to replace a pair of Bolutne Bluetooth earbuds with a wonky microphone. I’ll be returning these same Anker Liberty Air X earbuds to Best Buy less than two days after purchasing them. I can’t believe Anker has the audacity to charge $80 for this substandard set of earbuds that are plagued with problems! As soon as I opened the box a huge red flag went up in my mind, as staring at me on the inside cover of the box is a full-page instruction sheet on how to reset your headphones if they’re only playing sound through one ear. Which of course, mine were only playing sound through one earbud as soon as I took them out of the box and paired them to my phone. Way to make a first impression there Anker! I guess Anker knows their headphones are garbage seeing as how they have to put a full-page of instructions front-and-center inside the box on how to fix an issue that any competent and legitimate company would have just issued a recall for and FIXED the underlying issue before attempting to sell known broken hardware in mass quantities. I digress… No exaggeration, after opening the box it took me 20 minutes to get sound out of both earbuds. Even following along with a YouTube video was an exercise in frustration and futility. If you have anything but the tiniest, most slender of fingers, you’ll find it hard to press the touch-sensor on each individual earbud and hold it down without the earbud coming off of the charging plate, which it needs to stay in contact with during the reset process. So after 20 minutes of fighting with this set of earbuds, they finally play through both ears. And the sound quality that awaited me was BEYOND cheap! My Boltune headphones cost HALF as much as the Liberty Air X and the sound on those Boltune earbuds is TWICE as good! There is no bass at all to the Liberty Air X, and even at the loudest volume my phone goes to, the music just didn’t get loud or rich enough to be enjoyable through these headphones. If you’re planning to do anything other than make phone calls and listen to podcasts, stay far away from the Liberty Air X, as they’re in no way designed with music in mind! Think back to the cheapest quality “disposable” set of wired earbuds you’ve ever bought. That’s EXACTLY the sound quality you’ll get out of the Liberty Air X. I’ll be keeping my Boltune earbuds, and just deal with the wonky mic. At least BOTH Bolutne earbuds paired up the first time and every time I’ve gone to pair them. I can’t say the same about the Anker Liberty Air X. The sound on the Boltune headphones is phenomenal at half the price Anker is asking for earbuds with dollar-store sound “quality”. I would not recommend the Anker Liberty Air X to anyone. They’re nothing more than broken, buggy hardware that under-performs, sold at way too high a price for the product you end up getting. Pros: mic works for phone calls phone calls can be heard through both earbuds Cons: It took me 20 minutes to get both earbuds working after I first opened the box Controls to reset the earbuds are HORRIBLE for anyone with normal sized fingers The earbuds sound like a cheap pair of $7.99 wired earbuds, they’re no good for music Even when I finally did get the left earbud to sync up with the always-on right earbud, the left earbud would cut in and out during audio playback. Anker’s solution to their broken headphones is to include instructions, rather than to recall the buggy hardware and just include earbuds that work out of the box.

Beware, disposable product.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am totally disappointed I had version 1 and 2 of the Anket Soundcore Liberty Air. And both units did not reach the end of the warranty period working. Version 1, lasted 8 months. When the right unit has stopped charging. And without it the device doesn't work. With version 2, the usage time did not reach the second month. The problem was the same. The right unit has stopped charging. And neither the case reset procedure (something that was not possible in version 1), solved the problem. In both cases, I contacted Anker support. And the only answer I got was that, as I don't live in the USA, they have no way to attend me. So, if you live in the USA. You will need to request replacement of the item before the warranty ends. If you don't live in the USA. Do not have this device on your shopping list. In time - My brother also has version 1. And with him the problem happened in 4 months. He also started to have a nice paperweight.

1 year product life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design of these earbuds causes corrosion to build up on the charging ports. Even after properly cleaned they will stop fully charging. If you use your earbuds for frequent exercise plan on needing to buy new earbuds in less than a year as they will stop charging fully. Mine stopped at the beginning of a long bicycle ride and again on a flight. If you’re okay with paying $79 every year for new earbuds and don’t mind quiet bike rides, exercise sessions, or music less plane rides then these are for you.

Disappointed/Headphones stopped working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These worked great for about 1 month and then the right headphone stopped charging. I've tried everything and can't get it to charge. I can't get the left headphone to connect to anything with the right headphone being completely turned off, so I'm totally unable to use these. I was really excited about these and am disappointed that they only worked for a short period.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these for 5 months or so and I was very happy with them at first but now the left earbud doesn’t sync up with the right one. We noted that you have tried some troubleshooting already. Have you tried the tips below?
Step 1. Delete "SoundCore Liberty Air" from your device's Bluetooth list, and turn off the Bluetooth on your device;
Step 2. Place one earbud in the charging case and make sure it's charging (The LED indicator will be solid white)
Step 3. Tap and hold the multifunction touchpad of the earbud (currently in the charging case)for 7 seconds until the LED indicator flashed 3 times. This clears the paring information.
Step 4. Put the other earbud in the charging case and repeat Step 3.
Step 5. After the pairing information is cleared, take both earbuds out of the charging case and place them next to each other.
(If pairing is successful the LED indicator on the left earbud will start flashing slowly and the LED indicator on the right earbud will flash rapidly.)
Step 6. Turn on Bluetooth on your device and search for "SoundCore Liberty Air" to connect.
If those steps don't help, please reach out to us at [email protected] for further assistance.
