This unit was purchased as a gift for granddaughter for Christmas. She was able to get it up and running in a few minutes, Results were amazing according to her! The unit is well constructed and very stable! Since there was a limited demo units and store knowledge about this printer and 3d printing in general I was skeptical of purchasing this for granddaughter. Turned out to be a winner!!

I have been 3D printing for a year now. I’ve tried several Creality Ender models and this is by far the best printer I’ve owned so far. No more messing with leveling wheels, it does both aux and automatic leveling for you. It is blazing fast with no noticeable degradation in print quality. It requires its own proprietary slicer which is nearly identical to Cura so no major learning curve there. The best part is you can control everything from anywhere remotely from your phone. The camera allows you to monitor your print and turn it off if the print goes south. My only complaint is that it is really loud, but given how much this miracle machine can do I’ll just put in a pair of earplugs.

This thing works like a champ. Its a little loud so would be a good ideal to let it work overnight. But I love the ease this machine is to use.

Great 3d Printer, easy to setup and start printing. I'm new to this so cant compare a lot but I'm very happy with it so far. Can be used form the app very simply or via the pc software with a lot of different setup options.

Good but... Consider Other Options

First and foremost, I picked this up for around $350 thanks to a big sale and some stacked BBY points. So, I'm reviewing it as a $350 printer.
As a beginner, I’ve found it to be great. It’s basically plug-and-play, aside from tightening a couple of bolts. Everything else just slots into place. Setup and unboxing is a 10/10, almost Apple-Like. My prints have turned out well, and I’ve learned a ton along the way. I've made things like a mini generator, random holders, vacuum parts, and so on. As long as you stay within its limits, the results are solid.
Now, why do I suggest you maybe consider other options? Two reasons: a strange rebrand and a stagnant app.
Let’s start with the app. At first, I was impressed by the catalog of other's creations—but it quickly became clear that the content never updates. Even sorting by “new” shows the same stuff. Is it abandoned? Is the app just broken? Who knows...
Then came the rebrand. One day, the app updated and suddenly it wasn’t “AnkerMake” anymore—it was “EufyMake,” a rebrand under an Anker subsidiary. Why? After digging around, I found mentions of scrapped features like color printing (automatic filament switching) and noticed that even some basic replacement parts are inconsistently available on their site.
Does this mean the M5 could be killed off and Anker drops out of 3D printing? Hard to say... but it’s worth keeping in mind. Especially after they quietly stopped supporting the M5C.
I can't really recommend this if Anker isn't serious about supporting their product down the road.

This was a gift to my son from his grandparents. My son is 10 years old, and we opted to go with a 3D Printer that wasn't too small or too beginner"ish" so he can use it for several years and won't outgrow it too soon. My inlaws bought it on sale, so it was a good value. So far, so great. We were also told that it wasn't compatible with iOS which was not the case. I believe in order to create a brand new design, it needs to be done on a PC, but to print existing 3D designs, my son found an app that he downloaded to his iPad and was able to print from his iPad to the 3D printer. (Yes, he figured it out w/o any adult assistance.) He's smarter than his parents. ;)

Ive been using an Ender 3 for years. The M5 is better in every way. Its fast, its quiet, it auto levels, and setup only took about 20min. Its a fantastic machine. The iOS app and slicer software are great. Also super nice that it has a camera so you can check on your print jobs from the couch. Grab this thing!

Fun to Use but Operating Instructions Lacking

In short, I really like this printer even though I didn't know how I'd use it when I bought it but it was a great price, so I couldn't resist. Now, I'm using it far more than I ever thought I would and in ways that I never thought about before.
The assembly instructions are top-notch. They are very thorough and give clear instructions on how to assemble the printer out of the box. I don't know that I've seen assembly instructions quite as good as the ones for this printer.
The instructions go off the rails when you get to the last steps of loading the filament into the printer. Instructions are clear on how to get the filament into the printer, but they reach a point where the instructions say to go to the control panel on the printer and press the "load" button. Well, there is no "load" button...only "retract" or "extrude". Internet research told me that I should use the "extrude" option, which did work.
Once you get the filament loaded, you are kinda on your own. There are no operating instructions included in the box whatsoever. Instructions tell you to download the software while loading the filament, but that's the end of the road. Can't figure out how to use the software? Internet search. Where do you go to find models that others have shared and you can print? Internet search. What's the difference between the filament types (PLA vs. PETG, etc.)? Internet search.
When on sale, this unit is priced in a way that would attract newbies to 3D printing (like me), so I assumed there would be some sort of operating instructions to get you going, but there just aren't any. Yes, the AnkerMake website has lots of useful information, but put SOMETHING in the box to help out the newbies. Searching the internet for all these things and teaching yourself as you go is a bit of a drag.

Awesome little printer. I had been thinking about getting a 3d printer for a few little projects but I couldn't justify the price of entry. Then this went on a DotD sale for $250.00 and I snatched it up. Couldn't be happier. Easy to use. Plenty of options. Very fast for quick and dirty prototyping. I will probably outgrow it at some point but it get's the job done and is a great entry level printer.
