This appliance is an essential one if you shop in bulk or make things that you want to seal/save for later. I keep thinking of more and more things to vacuum seal and save. It can even reseal some types of bags just fine and is versatile enough to work with other sealer bags. This machine can definitely save you some money if you use it right. As for the sealer itself, it's awesome, it's operation is simple (one button push) works fast, and sucks all the air out. You do need to be extra careful with liquids and the wet mode does make it easier to deal with liquids so you don't ruin your machine and it double seals it. I actually felt more confident trying that mode after doing a test run without something really wet. I like the profile of this machine and that it small yet it still hides a bag roll inside - nice! I'd recommend this for the versatile many uses that it has and Anova really made a solid machine that I think will last me a while!

This is an amazing vacuum sealer. It has more options than others that I’ve used and is easy to store away, or sleek enough to keep out. It has built in storage and a cutting mechanism. It is very asy to use, buttons are obvious. It is great to have the option for wet or dry suction. Other vacuums I’ve used did not have this, which can be really messy. The double heat seal gives is a great feature to make sure the seal doesn’t fail. It does come with a hose attachment, but I couldn’t find any use for it at this point. The hose does not store in the unit, which makes it seem like an afterthought. Easy to store, power cord stores in the unit. It is smaller than other vacuums that I’ve used that have built in storage. I’ve used this to store frozen items, dry goods, and for sous-vide marinade preparations. All worked well. It is very easy to clean, some parts can be removed to wash or wipe down.

Great For Sous Vide, Food Storage or Meal Prep

I've had my Anova Precision sous vide for a couple years now and have been using the water displacement method to seal my bags. It works well, but it's pretty difficult to get all the air out, there's a risk of getting water in the bag and it's recommended to use the more expensive freezer bags. I've had a vacuum sealer on my wishlist for a number and decided to pull the trigger on the Anova Precision Sealer Pro. The biggest differences between the Pro and the Standard sealer is the double seal and the built-in roll storage and cutter. For sous vide having the double seal alone is worth the extra price, especially if you're doing longer or higher temperature cooks. The bag roll stores in the Pro so you don't have to worry about storing the box or having your bags get dirty or dusty. It's very convenient having everything in one spot. Pull out the bag to the desired length and use the built-in cutter to easily get the perfectly sized bag. The Pro also features a wet mode if you want to use it for marinades. It uses a lower power suction to keep from sucking any of the liquids into the sealer which I'd imagine would be a big mess to clean up. The added bonus of using a vacuum sealer for marinades is it will help the flavors of the marinade get into the meat faster. My favorite feature of the Sealer Pro is the pulse function. This is perfect when you want to seal chips, crackers or bread but not worry about crushing them. You are in control of how much air gets sucked out of the bag. No need to completely flatten your sandwich when you can remove just enough air and get a great seal. I'll admit, I did empty our pantry and seal nearly every plastic bag that was in there. Needless to say, my wife has thrown a few eyerolls my direction as she discovers one more sealed bag of chips or drinking straws or cupcake liners or napkins...wait until she sees what I did with her car keys.

Great Addition to a Sous Vide Kitchen

We has been doing more and more Sous Vide cooking, probably two to three times a week now. It's really perfect for meat, not overcooking and leaving it moist and tender without brining. We had been using ziplock bags (the silicone bags are a colossal pain to clean), but never again. Having to weight the bags down to keep the food item submerged was a challenge. The Anova Precision Sealer Pro makes Sous Vide very easy, as it is a storage sealer that has additional features specifically for Sous Vide and convenience. There are separate settings for 'Moist' and 'Dry' preparations, food in a sauce or marinade doesn't suck the wet ingredients out of the bag. There is a 'Pulse' setting, so more delicate items can be sealed without crushing them. The sealer locks closed during the sealing operation, so you don't have to stand there holding the lid down. There is a built-in bag cutter, so you get a nice straight cut and don't have to go find a pair of scissors. There is also an external port for vacuum ready sealing containers, which we haven't tried. It seems to work fine with the bulk purchase sealer rolls, so you're not locked into to any special refills. As an example, we have cooked dry rub pork chops, chicken in marinade, and various vegetable all sealed with the Anova Precision Pro Sealer. It's nice being able to seal ahead of time and let the rub or marinade do it's work in the refrigerator without having to use a separate pan or plate. It's really nice being able to seal vegetables like asparagus without crushing them, using the 'pulse' option. Probably my only complaint is that the instructions are pretty skimpy, but the unit is pretty self-explanatory; all of the modes have separate buttons. All in all we are very happy with the Anova Precision Sealer Pro. If you finding yourself doing Sous Vide cooking, I think you will be as well.

We've been cooking using our sous vide machine for about a month, but have been using ziplock bags. The results turned out well, but it was a little difficult working with bags. Also, we found that we would have to double bag to ensure that none of the water accidentally seeped in. Having this vacuum sealer has made a huge difference! Using the vacuum sealed bags makes it easier to keep the packet submerged in the water and that the food is making as much contact with the water to ensure better cooking. We made lamb chops that turned out perfect! Bison burgers were cooked to the perfect doneness level without overcooking. The sealer has a lot of little features that make its use so easy. I really like that you can store the bag roll inside of the sealer itself. It even comes with a straight-line cutter to ensure that the bags you create aren't crooked. It's nice that there is an external hose that can be used to vacuum seal other containers, not just bags. This is my first time using a vacuum sealer and one of my initial hesitations with them was vacuum and sealing moist contents. This unit ensures that my worries are unwarranted. This will make freezer storage so much better too! Even if you don't have a sous vide machine, I would still recommend getting one of these!

First of all, I love the built of this vacuum sealer. Though it is a pro model, it is not as big as I had imagined and it fits perfectly in my kitchen cabinet. It has a built in bag storage feature, which is great. I first tried manual sealing and it works so smoothly without any issues. I was completely satisfied with the way the sealer had sealed the bags. I tried close to 10 bags back to back and the sealer was able to handle it like a pro - no issues, no overheating, etc. Then I tried the Vacuum and seal option and it works like a charm. Pro model also has the option to extend and seal other types of items besides the bag - like jar lids, some vacuum ready container etc. I am really excited to try those options. As advertised, one had sealing works well, don’t have to really put a lot of effort to seat bags. Overall, a great product. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

I have to admit I have never used one of these vacuum sealer things before. So I pulled it out of the box and had one of those "how the heck does this thing work" moments. I got the unit out and found the bag roll inside and reached for the manual. Its one of those manuals that has no words, just pictures and arrows. Now, im very skilled when it comes to technical things, I've built computers, set up security systems, im known as the family tech support guy, but I could not figure this out from the manual. Thankfully there are videos online that show you how to use it. So, to start off, when you get this, I would suggest looking for YouTube videos on how to operate it because the manual is not very helpful at all! With that being said, once I figured it out, it worked very, very well! I was vacuum sealing anything I could get my hands on for the first few days I had this. My wife was not amused when she found out I vacuum sealed her phone. It also worked great for sealing up meats and cheeses. We just did a trip to the grocery store and it was nice to buy larger packages of things knowing I could vacuum seal portions and throw them in the freezer. It will pay for itself quickly just with that alone. I found the vacuum to be very powerful and easily sucked out all the air and the seal was very tight. After cooking some things the sous vide way I found the bags also held their seal and no water got in the bags. The food also cooked perfectly and was nice and juicy! So, I can say I highly recommend this as a vacuum sealer, but I highly recommend getting your instructions on how to use it elsewhere or you will be left dazed and confused!

The Anova vacuum sealer is a great tool if you are like me and want to store meats and other items in a vacuum rather than just wrapping in paper or plastic. The Anova is a compact, excellent sealer that seems to pull just the right amount of vacuum and seals the bags very quickly. It does as good as any vacuum sealer I have used in dealing with moist items and comes with an attachment to seal remote items such as specialized jars and bottles. The unit is compact, light and not as noisy as some I have used. Overall, it does a good job with moist ((not wet) foods and meats. I think it is a good buy.

This model is about 2 to 3 times larger than Anova’s model ANVS01-US00, which I purchased last December, and use all the time. Why is this model so much bigger and more expensive? This model has built in storage for 11-inch bag roll, built in cutter (which is a BIG time-saver), handle that opens/closes/locks using only 1 hand (another great addition and time saver), moist/dry vacuum options, external vacuum and last but not least - double heat seal (giving much better comfort level that food stays sealed). Both models use same size bags. It is worth it(?) – I certainly think so and highly recommend. The added features are very welcome and as with the other model being able to store frozen items longer is great. A vacuum sealer roll is included as is a clear 18.9” external vacuum hose. To operate just plug it in, seal the end of the bag, unroll size of bag needed, cut using built in cutter (great to insure you have a straight cut), put food in the bag and set the open end into the vacuum area, close using the handle (one hand operation), press moist or dry option, then use vacuum and seal (automatically will vacuum out air and seal) or use pulse vacuum where you control amount of air removed and then seal manually. Could not be easier. Having the moist option is supposed to allow for food that may have “juice” released when vacuuming or maybe doing a quick marinade. This option as well as the double seal seems to work well. Sometimes I had issues with my prior single seal model. Seal around vacuum area is removable for cleaning or replacement. Indented vacuum area is easily wiped out. Power cord can be stored in cubby hole in bottom of vacuum. I did not use the external vacuum option. Checked Anova website for accessories but didn’t see any. According to website has 5-year warranty The only quibbles are its size (14.75 x 7 x 4.3″ - but it does store the bag roll) and it seems somewhat loud when using vacuum function, when compared to my other model. Also, replacement bags, to me, seem to be a tad expensive so make sure of bag size needed to prevent waste! Overall a great unit that I hope works as well long term as my prior model.

The Anova a great multi-function vacuum sealer. In the box is the sealer, a large roll of cut to size bags, and a vacuum hose for sealable containers (not included). Setup is easy, plug it in and start. If you open the top of the sealer there is a roll storage area as well as a cutter allowing you to quickly cut bags to size. There is also the sealer heat strip as well as a drip tray for wet foods. The thing that sets Anova apart from other vacuum sealers is the level of suction. This thing sucks, no literally, the suction is far superior to one of the more popular sealer brands I have. The options here are dry / wet and seal or pulse vacuum. Sealing is easy, cut the bag approximately 4 inches larger than the item, seal one end shut, insert item. At this point the lid lifts up so you can put the open end of the bag into the sealer and select seal. This will automatically vacuum out the air and switch over to seal the bag holding the vacuum. The only drawback I found with this sealer is that you always have to have at least one hand free to open the lid, then you need to place the item in the seal zone and hold it while closing the lid back in place. I somewhat prefer the auto seal function of other brands that allow you to hold the bag with both hands while sealing. Otherwise great product, the vacuum is outstanding and the seals are good 100% of the time, with no wait time between sealing.

I owned a sealer many years ago but since it was so big, I hated taking it out. It also was heavy and took precious kitchen space. This unit is compact and light. Fits in several drawers I have. It was also very easy to operate. I wouldn't say this would work for someone who is a hunter but for the common household, I think it's perfect.

This is a very minimal product, but it does what it does very well! In a way, this is a super fancy vacuum freezer bag machine, but it does it very well. I have been using the roll of "bags" that comes with it, and I think I would prefer this than the pre-made bags that you can also buy. Whats in the box: The machine it self, quick start guide, roll of "bags" and a tube for connecting to other vacuum storage containers. Use: Very easy. The unit unlatches and opens up where it stores the roll to make bags with a handy integrated cutter. The top has buttons to seal the bag, vacuum the bag, and attach the hose if you want to vacuum another container. You start making a bag by unrolling however much you need and using the cutter to cut it off. You then place one end in the machine and press the seal button to make one end of the bag. You then put whatever you are cooking or storing in the bag, flip it over and hit the vacuum and seal button. It then sucks out all the air and seals the bag. Easy peasy. There are two options for vacuum, "wet" and "dry", for meats or rice type food. The bags are very strong, and have held up to cooking in the sous vide for hours. Like I said, this is a basic machine, but it does what it does VERY well and has made cooking with the sous vide much easier.

I love the sealer, I can use with some moisture/liquid but you have to be quick on the seal button as you see the liquid being pulled to the opening. I vacuum seal a lot of foods now with covid issues to extend shelf life as I buy many foods in bulk. Overall a straightforward and easy to use sealer but the rolls can be a bit expensive. You can buy other brands of roll bags which is less pricey so options are available to make the rolls more cost efficient.

We sous vide a lot and a vacuum sealer is very helpful to the cooking process. I have been using a FoodSaver basic model and it works okay. But the double seal on this machine makes it worth the upgrade. On my previous model I often found myself doing a second seal just to make sure a small wrinkle wouldn’t compromise my food. Included is a hose attachment for sealing vacuum containers. It worked well with my container. The very minimal instruction sheet isn’t much help if you haven’t used a vacuum sealer before. There are lots of videos on YouTube if you need further instruction. This model has a moist seal feature with less suction. That feature was my main interest in this product. You cannot have wet food with loose liquid as it is not made for that. If you do, then freeze it first and seal. But if you have something that is damp the wet seal function does a better job than models without it. Push the Moist button and then Vacuum & Seal. You need to watch closely as the liquid will start moving towards the top of the bag. Push seal when it gets close. Cleaning the tray that the bag end goes into is difficult as it doesn’t come out. The previous models I have owned all had a removable tray. The included bag roll is okay but my FoodSaver bags worked fine too. I have a lot of them left over. Make sure you put the bag under the bag cutter and it will work fine. Pros: Double Seal Cord storage - cord is hidden underneath unit Moist seal Cons: Bags don’t have a designated write on area – can smear Tray is hard to clean

The Anova - Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro is the perfect compliment for my Sous Vide cooker as well as keeping my frozen foods fresher for a longer period of time. This unit does a good job at providing an air tight seal as well as additional functionality you may not see with others. For foods that you may not want to completely get air tight, there is a manual pulse option that lets you customize how much air is left in the bag. For the seal component, there is a one button option that will vacuum and seal for awesome convenience. Keep in mind that you do need pay close attention as to where the end of the bag is placed. Needs to be in position to allow the air to get vacuumed out as well as ensure there are not crease or overlap of the bag as that can create a bad seal and air will start to fill the bag. Not very difficult, but just need to be mindful. Because some items may have juices or liquids, the wet function helps ensure that liquids down seep through the seal point. This unit also come with a hose attachment that will allow you to vacuum seal other bags or containers that don't require a seal, which makes this more applicable to other vacuum seal needs. I can't really thing of any negatives on this unit as does a great job.

I feel I should disclose I've never used a vacuum sealer before. This product is great quality. It includes a roll of bags that can be sealed at your own desired length, the separate tube attachment, instructions, and the power cord is attached to the body of the sealer. The instructions were honestly not useful to me. It's simply a collection of images of how to use the sealer. There are no written instructions and I could find no videos or how-to guides for this particular model. As far as choosing your bag size and sealing the bottom, it's super straight forward. You simply unroll the material onto the sealer, press the seal button, and it heats the material to form a bottom seal of the bag. I ran into troubles with the actual sealing process. You need to make sure you let the heating element that seals cool off before you try to vacuum and seal. If you do not, it will seal the bag before attempting to vacuum seal it, leaving you with a useless piece of plastic. I made this mistake several times. I could not get bags to vacuum before sealing. It took me several times to get the sealing process right. It was especially frustrating when trying to work with a meat for Sous Vide cooking. I did eventually get the seal to correctly work to cook a steak. The bags worked great once appropriately sealed and made for a great overall product. I'm not sure if my issues with this product is just user error and/or not understanding the process correctly, but I've had a hard time with the air reduction actually working before the machine tries to seal. I am a first time user of a vacuum sealer, so it could be lack of knowledge. I do like the amount of features and capability this offers.
