For a film abandoned before the start of shooting by its co-writer, Edgar Wright, it’s somewhat surprising to discover that this is one of the most purely entertaining entries in the MCU. While the stakes may be scaled down compared to Avengers, director Peyton Reed keeps them deeply personal for our hero, played with a plethora of charm by Paul “America’s Sweetheart” Rudd. Corey Stoll makes for a very human, and therefore more effective, villain. But the most unexpected treat may be the light-fingered scene-stealing of Michael Peña. Not to be missed if you’re a fan of Marvel - and not to be overlooked by those who are not.

This movie was added to my Marvel collection. The #D helped with the special affects.

I enjoy a lot of the Marvel movies, but I was skeptical about Ant-Man for a while, and almost passed up watching it altogether. But I gave it a rent, and bought the 3D blu-ray as soon as it went on sale, if that tells you anything. I was quite pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this movie was, and how they really pulled off one of the oddest of the Marvel characters so well. I don't typically buy 3D movies, but I gotta say this one in particular is a little extra fun to watch in 3D, given the material. The 2D blu-ray and digital HD copy are also included. The video and audio quality are top notch in both 2D and 3D formats. Simply put, this one's a lot of fun!

I'm glad this is finally available on 4k, I've been waiting for this for a while.

The Steelbook art is nice, not one of my favorites but better than the standard cover art on the regular packing. The movie itself was the reason why I 5 starred this review. To me this is one of the best Marvel movies made. It's not a guy who has super hero powers, it's just Paul Rudd being a Paul Rudd character who has to deal with normal everyday stuff like being a parent. I was really curious as to how they would represent the Ant-Man character in movie form and I think they did a great job. If you are reading this review because of mixed reviews, at the very least, definitely rent the movie.

I've been scouting out this movie for quite sometime and just recently is dropped to 19.99 @ bestbuy. So I had to jump on it fast, plus it hardly drops below 35 bucks for more than a few days at a time. I saw it when it came to movie theaters, but didn't get to see it in 3D. The video quality and audio were the same as I remember seeing in the movie theater. I knew this movie would be close too a homerun once I saw it in 3D and it didn't disappoint. I didn't experience any ghosting or aliasing, the picture remained crisp the whole time. I couldn't give the 3D a 5 because they could've done more with it. I would've enjoyed some popout effects, but the overall depth and immersion is there. Sin City is still my favorite 3D movie to this date, it adds depth, immersion and popout effects to perfection. If this would've had the popout effects there might have been a tie on my list. But overall, I enjoyed the movie throughly. I highly recommend you pickup a copy when the price drops again. If you enjoyed previous Marvel Studios movies, then you will probably enjoy this one as well. Even if you didn't like any previous Marvel movies, I would still recommend this movie (even if it's just a rent, it's definitely worth it). A little bit about the plot, Hank Pym is an aging scientist who created something he calls Pym Particles. Everyone wants his formula, but Pym isn't willing to give anyone his formula because they want to make it a weapon. His evil protégé has figured out how to recreate his formula & Pym enlists a thief (who Pym sees has potential for more) named Scott Lang to steal the formula from his protégé when he finds out he's using it for evil doings.

I really did not know much about Ant-Man before I bought it, but I figured it's a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie so it must be good. This movie did not disappoint. The characters are interesting and easy to root for, there's a lot of unique action sequences that you don't see in all the other action movies (due to the shrinking hero), and it is really, really hilarious! It's one of the funnier Marvel movies, more like a comedy with action in it than a humorous super hero movie. I LOVED it! And there are a bunch of special features on the blu-ray, too, including a commentary, or maybe two - I'm not looking at the box right now. So I'm looking forward to watching those.

My family and I have started a weekly "family movie night". I picked this movie up in 3D and we watched it a couple weekends ago. Wow! What a great, fun, action packed, hilarious movie! The special effects are as good as any Marvel movie and the story (to introduce a new superhero and tie him into existing Marvel plots) are very well done. I never was into comic books as a kid but I love movies! And Marvel has had me hooked for years. I love to see how all the separate characters develop and eventually connect in other movies. Ant-man is right up there with the rest of them!! My family and I all enjoyed this movie and the 3D was particularly awesome as well!!

This was a joy to watch, innovative, with just the right blend of action, tension, family, incredible special effects, etc. Michael Douglas was fantastic as always, Paul Rudd took a strange role in a genre he is not used to and made it his own. Michael Pena was brilliant, and added some excellent comedic timing, with the lip syncing bits practically stealing the show. And Evangeline Lily, you simply have to appreciate for the ability to portray a strong, sexy woman who can hold her own, can still show some emotion, and all without relying on tactics like butt shots and thigh high slit skirts. As she was referred to in the film - "the mean pretty lady".

This is a fun Marvel movie and the 4K upscale is one of the better efforts.

I think Paul Rudd & Michael Peña are both excellent with comedy, while both have proven themselves outside of that genre. Edgar Wright is a classic example of a mega-talented nerd who loves to make fun films riddled with both action & comedy. So mix 'em all together, throw in some more great performers & top notch special fx and you've got what I think will be a highly underrated addition to the Marvel cine-verse. I know nothing of the original Ant-Man stories, so I didn't have any epileptic fits over accuracy (which are very tiring ways to poke holes in otherwise great flicks). I just enjoyed myself immensely for 2 hours. 'Nuff said.

As usual, you can look elsewhere for a more in-depth review of the film or extras if that's what you're looking for. Regarding the exclusive packaging of this release, I've become a fan of many of the steelbooks offered by Best Buy for the Marvel films (I already owned the Winter Soldier, Guardians & AoU steelbooks, plus Fury Road) and enjoy this one as much as the others. The more whimsical packaging for Ant Man is much more interesting than the generic "Here's a shot of everyone in the movie" collage or some random action shot. It's a movie worth owning, and if you have an interest and a chance to snag one of these in the process, do it.

I liked the visuals and the action. Good comedy also. And it's in dolby atmos.
