The deck was really stacked against this one, being in development for years and then losing it's well known, fan favorite director just before filming began. But give credit to Marvel, they pulled this one off brilliantly. Ant-Man has never been an A list character but when handled properly he can be. The story follows trying to reform thief, Scott Lang, who gets roped into helping the retired obscure hero Ant-Man/Hank Pym. The story blend elements of the first Iron Man movie with an Oceans Eleven style caper film. The result is a fun ride from beginning to end that feels right at home with the rest of the MCU.

Definitely one of my favorite movies. Of course a bad scientist will sell the suit he finally perfected after his teacher and colleague, Michael Douglas, refused to show him his discovery years before. And yes it goes to his head and will sell it to the highest bidder and could care less if it endangers the people. So Douglas must find someone to use his suit he had developed years before but never told anyone about to combat evil. Yes it's good vs. evil but in an enjoyable experience with a lot of action and some funny parts which makes it a great movie.

I loved this movie. Aside from the funny lines and performances from Scott's ex-con friends, the movie was just fun to watch. I enjoyed all the special effects and CGI. Wow. The ants themselves were cool, especially when working in concerted groups, and the huge world that was created when Ant Man was in his small form was great. I am really looking forward to the next one. Marvel has nailed it with their movies lately. Between excellent writing, good story lines, and great CGI that brings my favorite super heroes believably to life, they are a must see, every time.

This is the first movie of Ant Man and it does not disappoint.

First off the steelbook casing is awesome. the front side looks like a real hard drive, the back has some nifty labels too, well worth the extra couple of dollars compared if you buy the regular casing from other stores. Okay the movie is such a hoot, the whole family will love, just like what they did with guardians of the galaxy they turned a least known character in the marvel universe to a big hit by relying on good story telling, humor and a right balance of action. lots of people probably missed seeing this movie but I tell you grab the movie or rent it and it will not disappoint.
