Excellent product for anything that needs it!

I bought this to clean out and reapply thermal paste for my XFX HD 5770 since it was overheating well past the standards it should be going at; it would idle at around 50-60 degrees C and about 88-99 degrees C on full load. At first I thought it was the insufficient amount of fans and the size of the case that was causing this overheating problem (it is a Lenovo stock computer anyway) but until I took out the GPU, cleaned the dust out and applied this product, I am now back to standards at a steady 38 degrees on Idle and 50-60 degrees on full load.

    Good, but not great

At nearly twice the price of it's competition, it was the only thing available locally when I was in a jam. Provides nearly 3x the thermal transfer than stock thermal pads between a cpu and heat sync, it's a good thermal compound. It's competitor, artic silver, is better for a lower price, but at least in my area completely unavailable. It is, however, better than the generic brands carried. Whenever changing a heatsync, the thermal paste should always be cleaned off and new paste applied. The paste should be spread evenly throughout the CPU die prior to heat sync installation for ideal heat transfer. In a jam, it works, but if I had more prep time I'd have ordered artic silver.

My i7 3960x was running at 80 Celsius 176 Fahrenheit with a corsair h80 pump. Applied the paste an now I'm at 31 C 87.8 F. Easy to apply just used half tube and spreader, no mess, worked great.

This compound helped lower the temps on my stock intel heatsink by a few degrees.

Not as easy to apply as other thermal compounds. Worked well if heated before application-not in the microwave!! Put it in a zip lock baggie, immerse in hot water for about 15 minutes and it is much easier to work with.

It’s a good paste but it’s not as good as what’s available outside of best buy.

Garbage, just buy Arctic silver or Dynex.

I bought this because I didn't want to wait for an order of arctic silver. I have never had an issue with thermal compound in 18 years of building pcs. This stuff is so thick that when you apply it, it sticks to whatever you're using to apply it. The consistency is seriously that of modelling clay (even after the warm it in a plastic bag in warm water trick). After an agonizing fight to get an even layer on the my chip the thermal conductivity leaves you wanting. I used the rocketfish compound that came with a cooler I had and had temps of 30-32 C on my X4 965. This stuff leaves it at 37-39 C avg when Idle. Totally a failure in my book. I will never buy again.
