Make sure you either plug this in directly to your PC or a powered USB hub. They do not have their own power source. I have two and needed the hub to extend the display. Also, these do not have a power button on them or the ability to adjust color balance. The hub I purchased has a power button for each USB port. So that set up works perfectly for my purposes.

I travel a lot with my laptop and this second monitor slides in my computer bag and travels well. Is been very useful, it's so much easier for me to work with a second monitor. I wish I had it a long time ago.

Purchased two of these for travel so I have a 3 monitor set up with my laptop. Do exactly what I need them to do. Multiple apps running at the same time on different monitors keeps me from having to min/max. Not the best color resolution but for the cost all good. My Dell Ultra only has (1) 3.0 USB. If I plugged one monitor directly into puter no issues. I had a cheapo 3.0 USB hub and couldn't even run (1) monitor none the less (2) & external hd. Picked up hub with power adapter and with extra juice all worked.

I have the previous AOC model that I use extensively for genealogy research. I bought this as a gift for a friend who accepted a volunteer financial secretary role for a non-profit organization. Being able to double the available work space, view multiple windows, and readily copy and paste from one to another is greatly appreciated. Her laptop does not have an optical drive, so we could not use the CD to install the provided driver that would let the screen be used in portrait mode.
