Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review our BVN650M1. I apologize for the issue you are facing with the unit. Since we are using ABS plastic and injection molding the plastics are heated by a certain amount to be able to be molded and is mostly where smell comes from and would not affect the performance of the unit specially when new and out of the box and will soon dissipate. If smell is only happening when UPS is turned on and the unit is not overheating, please reach out to an APCbySchneider support team directly to resolve the issue with the unit.
