This battery back-up was recommended by Shaun of the Geek Squad. Live in the country and the power goes off and back on many times when the wind blows. This product is a "life saver" when I am using my desktop and the power goes off.

Bought it to be able to recharge cell phones during the hurricane if we lost power. It did a good job of charging cell phones. It will also work as a surge protector for my electronics plugged into it. Good value for the money!

I bought this primarily to provide power for the computer when the electricity goes out for a few seconds or minutes, which occasionally happens here. It has already shown that it can keep work-in-progress from being lost when the power goes out, which was my main priority. I have the UPS software configured to shut down the computer and save all open files if the power is out for more than 5 minutes. If you want a UPS that will let you keep working for an extended time without power, you'll want to look for a more powerful model.

So, far the APC - Back-UPS 650VA Battery performs excellent providing protection for my desk top computer systems with no problem.

When purchasing a work computer, I knew I needed good protection for it. I like that there is surge protection AND battery backup.

I love the master control and the ability to communicate with it through the usb. Battery lasts up to two hours.

This replaces my failing and older APC 550 unit. Unfortunately, it only has seven outlets in contrast to my previous (lower power) unit. Otherwise this turned out to be a better upgrade than the last unit I had.

After experiencing some outages due to weather conditions, I realized that backing up my computer and peripherals was not enough. However, my router and modem are not placed near the computer so I could not use the same backup battery. Since we depend on Internet connectivity for our landline and other household functions, I bought this backup to keep powering these devices. Installation was very easy and while I have not had to use it yet (we've had no power interruptions) I believe it will serve me well.

APC is the only UPS I would feel comfortable relying on to keep my computer running long enough to properly shut down. This unit will keep a high power desktop running for at least 15 minutes. Keep an eye on the condition of the battery after 2 or 3 years as it does degrade over time. I don't know if these things have any battery conditioning process that runs to keep the battery healthy or if the battery just stays fully charged all the time which will reduce the life expectancy of the battery.

This item was easy to install and fit nicely into a compact space. Certainly enough receptacles available for the plug-ins which I have. No power failures yet, so I can't comment on how it responds under pressure.
