Pros are just that, has 5 Surge/Battery plus 2 Surge Only. USB to Computer for proper shutdowns. (Has already saved me once..)
When power went out, everything on surge/battery side stayed powered up immediately. Wire Fault indicator.
For me so far, older equipment or power hogs, cant have two or three on battery backup section. Will give audible sound even if power never went off (mine happened with TV and XBOX... Ok until try to play a newer game). This could be a pro and/or con. But it does limit what devices can be used in designated ports. I strongly recommend you read the brochure and wattage information. This seems to be a very good mid range power UPS.. Please note this is based on my experience with it. It does what it says in the brochures. I would not fill up the plugs with power hungry devices.

Since my house is frequently having short power outages, I got this to keep my 3D printer going just in case and I think, for the price, I couldn't have done any better. I'm happy with it!

Years ago when I started using UPS' to protect my equipment I tried other supplies at the start. None of the other manufactures match the quality and reliability of the APC products. I have six still in use that just needed a new battery to restore their functionality. They are all of the BE5xx model. That's one major advantage to using APC – the battery is easy to access and replace. Out of 7 UPS' only one had a hardware failure which is why I purchased this new unit. The one that failed was over 8 years old. I believe I got my money's worth out of it. All of my APC UPS' have survived power outages and lightning storms while protecting valuable gear. There's a lot of decent info about software firewalls and antivirus software but nowhere near enough info concerning a firewall between the power outlet and the computer or other electronic devices. Imo APC has the best product on the market and any salesperson should be advising their customers to safeguard their purchase with an APC UPS.

This ups works great for what I am using it for. It is simple to use. I don’t have to worry about any power flickers. APC always makes a great product.

I purchased this battery backup because the power supply to our home is frequently interrupted by falling tree limbs in windy conditions. Sometimes these storms result in "brownouts" which can be far more damaging to electrical components than an outright outage.
The APC unit is solidly built, has spacing of outlets to a accomodate large AC adapters and a replaceable battery when the battery will no longer recharge. Definitely a winner in my book!

I've been using APC battery backups for decades, and I consistently recommend them to friends and colleagues. In nearly 30 years of use (including 20+ years in IT systems administration and management), I've only ever been disappointed with one single unit, and it may have been a fluke, as it was a form factor I'd never used before.
This unit was easy to set up and configure for automated shutdown of the server if the need should arise.

I've had the APC unit for a month and I haven't experienced any primary power failure, thus no real world tests. I tested the APC unit by pulling the plug and it worked fine. I loaded the APC unit with three low power consuming devices, which didn't flinch or hiccup when I pulled the plug. After about 5 minutes I plugged the APC unit back in and all remained okay.
The plug (receptacle) spacing is adequate for the 'wall warts' (power adapter transformers) I used. Since it's a lower power capacity unit I think most all power adapters will work.

I bought one of these while on sale about 6 months ago to plug my cable modem, wife router, cable box, and DVD player into. We have occasional power outages that usually only last a minute or two, so I wanted to keep these devices from losing power for those short-duration outages. Works great!
I don't know exactly how long it provides power in my configuration because I rarely have power outages that last more than a few minutes, but we did have an outage that lasted almost 10 minutes and it worked great for that, too. That's actually better than I really expected.
I liked it so much that the next time it went on sale I bought two more to plug some other devices into that I'd prefer not to lose power during short outages. So far, no problems.
For this (or any UPS), the more you plug into it, the less time it will last when the power goes out. The idea should be to plug the things you want to maintain power for, not to treat it like a backup generator. This works perfectly for me.

I bought two of these units after disappointment with a different brand. These units function as expected and fit into a crowded space on the floor behind my desk. Interestingly, I have found it cheaper to replace whole battery back up units rather than purchase replacement batteries. I have many of these in my home and office. I suspect I will be buying more in the future. I expect to stay with this brand as I have been disappointed with other brands. They are the "Best Buy."

Compared to older styles this unit is smaller and lighter. Sleeker. But I didn't discover one of the 'plugs' was not able to take a three prong until I received the unit. So you don't get as many as you think from reading the specs. Deceptive! Also the battery unit may be more expensive to replace down the line vs. previous style. Word to the wise.
Last caveat, I've only had this for a month so can't say how well it will function, but based on research I won't buy any brand except APC.

The unit is unobtrusive, actually designed fairly well, and easy to use. The default beep is loud enough to hear from across the room but not so loud that it will give your dog a heart attack. With just my router and modem plugged into the battery back-up slots on this UPC, I have been able to keep using the wifi for over two hours during a power outage. I have done the math and the battery should be able to run a TV, internet and cable box for about 45 minutes, long enough to get through many short suburban outages. The unit beeps to let you know when you should unplug before the battery completely drains to maintain battery health.

This UPS works perfectly with a Mac. There is no software to load. The OS knows what to do. Simply plug in this UPS to a USB port and the UPS is recognized. Settings are accessed from the "System Preferences" application. Simply navigate to "Energy Saver" then select the "UPS" tab. Press the "Shutdown Options" button to configure when the computer will automatically shutdown.
I am using this UPS on my Mac based home network where I use a Mac mini for a media server as well as a home file server and backup server. The Mac mini is connected to a Raid disk array. This UPS powers the mini and the disk array and will keep it running for about 10 minutes.

Very pleased with this back-up power source. As a seamstress with lots of time and money put into my tools of my trade, I don't want to lose my investment because of brown outs or lightning strikes. This power source guarentees my machines are safe from Mother Natures light shows and the power companies challenges. Using this helps give me the time to shut down my machines properly or save my work if in the event of these electrical conditions.

The APC BackUPS 650 has plenty of features and was priced right. There are enough outlets to plug in my home office computer with three monitors. they even has a couple of outlets that are surge protected, but will not drain the battery in case of a power outage event.

Bought this during the black Friday time frame so the pricing was desirable. Looking for an UPS for awhile and the purchase met my needs exactly. Intermittent power outages were causing major problems with the DVR. Haven't had an issue since connecting the UPS. Power surge also helps with other AV equipment.
