Now it gives a warning noise every time I start a game. Its annoying and I have even turned off other electronics to have less of a draw on the battery. Not sure why it does it or have any way of silencing it.

There is a chance the UPS is becoming overloaded when the game is started since generally PCs will pull more power if the game uses a lot of resources.
