Cannot sustain rated load.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two units, one is working fine with a load of about 85-100 watts. However, the other one was working on a load of 180 watts, and it went into some kind of protection mode and shut down. I reset it by removing the battery, and tried again. A couple of days later, same thing. Tried it a last time, and boom, same thing. Tried it on a different computer, lower load, and boom, shut down. I replaced that UPS with an identical one from Best buy, and sure enough, within a few days, that started shutting down the same way. This leads me to believe its a design flaw. The unit does feel fairly light compared to similarly rated UPS's.

Stay far FAR away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, these things are just terrible. Have exchanged twice already and every time they just randomly switch into some sort of fail mode after a day or two without ever going to battery backup at all. And this is with only a mere 80W load! These are designed for 360W. They are stuck in this fail mode for a few hours. Something is terribly wrong with these and until APC figures it out and addresses and fixes the problems, I would advise all potential buyers to avoid it.

Did not do it's job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my NAS, Router, and Modem. Happened to have two power outages and one surge two days after purchasing. Backup failed on each event. These components should have not lost power for at least 5 minutes. I returned and replaced it with the larger one with the display. I will not buy a UPS without a display again.

Complete junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 3 to replace an APC unit that failed just after the warranty period. Two of the new units went into shutdown for no reason and failed to restart. Am bringing the units back. Will not buy APC again. Too bad the review does not rate 0 as that is what I would rate the product.

Confidence lost in APC products
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many APC products over the years. This UPS however is being returned. Three times now the unit has 'crashed', resulting in a continuous tone and loss of power to the so called protected devices. Unplugging the UPS and holding down the power button is the only way to revive it.

Used it 1 Time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to help with power outages. The day before yesterday we lost power. The unit worked as advertised. Tonight, not so lucky. Apparently for some reason it didn't recharge after being used. I guess this is a one and done piece of equipment.

Would not work as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I plugged this UPS into the wall, and plugged all my components in and attached the communication USB cable. It seemed like it was working properly, but it would randomly make a long shrill beep, THEN it would shut down immediately. I was not even putting a 50% load on the unit, according to the included software program. This is just the opposite of how it is supposed to work. I returned it within a few days. Have had better luck and fewer reboots just leaving my computer plugged into the wall.

junk, worth than nothing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a 10 year old Belkin to protect my home PC, in the end it caused me more headache than protection. If you have Brother printer, be aware! this UPS won't work with printer. No I'm not talking about connecting printer to the UPS. The printer is on the other side of the room, and on a separate outlet. EVERYTIME i print something, the UPS triggers. It begins to make the annoying beep and even worse, it CUTS off my PC power completely. Without the UPS, my printer works fine and I didn't even notice the surge on my PC. So it's worse than nothing! I called the tech support and the guy told me that the power was cut off to protect my PC (what??!!) and I should not put the printer and PC in the same room. Excuse me?!

Posted .Thank you for taking time to review our UPS. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with the unit. The UPS is likely going to battery when the printer is running because Brother laser printers usually draw a lot of power. Since they pull a lot of power the UPS would detect the lower voltage and would go to battery. The newer UPSs are sometimes more sensitive which is likely why the new one is going to battery while the old one didn't. I would adjust the sensitivity on the UPS to low or medium to see if this issue clears up. The manual would have instructions on how to adjust the sensitivity. The computer shouldn't be shutting off when the UPS goes to battery. Usually the only time the PC would shutdown would be if the runtime reached 0 or the PC pulls more power than the UPS supports. I would just make sure the internal battery is connected and that the PC doesn't draw over 360 watts of power. If you still having issue with the UPS please do not hesitate to reach back out to an APCbySchneider support team. You can reach us directly at [email protected].

Can't Recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This UPS has fallen well below my expectations. Even from early on when it was close to new, it would randomly alarm and shut down without logging any reason why it would have done so. That issue got worse and worse, and now it won't even recognize its own battery, saying it's disconnected (even though I've checked and it's very much connected). So, 14 months after purchase, this unit is dead and worthless. If you care about things like your sanity or equipment, stay away from this UPS. I'll be shopping for a CyberPower unit to replace this with.

BestBuy sells open box items as new
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. That is mostly complain about Best Buy selling open/returned items as new. Seal is broken, even has test sticker indicating that it passed testing after been returned. Picked up at local BestBuy, plugged it in, and it is not working. Buzzing beep with power button going RED. Going to return it with serious talk to manager of this store about this. BestBuy location: Oxford Valley Mall Langhorne, PA. Shame, shame shame.
