I was excited to have a safe protection for a newly purchased computer. One evening I came from college the UPS started making the beeping noise, and shutdown. The battery never worked again. There goes $100 for a worthless piece of crap that lasted barely 3months. Note that the Powerchute software it came with showed the backup was barely being used at 25-30% capacity. But still, the system failed. Now, I need to find a way to dump it properly.

The worst backup battery ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this ups 900va, like everyone, thinking on protecting my electronic devices in case of a power outage, I connected my TV, PS4 and sound bar, in less than a month a unstoppable tone started bothering me until i disconnected the internal battery, so I ordered a replacement cuz nobody knew what was going on, so I got a second one with the same defect, I tried everything, connecting only the TV, etc, nothing seems to work, so is the worst backup ever.

I would try removing all the equipment from the unit, remove the input power plug, then disconnect the internal battery. Once the battery is disconnected I would try holding the power button for around 10 seconds to reset the unit. Afterwards you would just reverse the instructions to power the unit back in. Started alarming and shutting off after a year.

This worked well for a year, then began to go into alarm mode. I could unplug it and plug it back in and it would be okay for a while. But then it started to alarm and cut power to anything plugged into it, disconnecting our internet connection. I took the battery out of it and gave to recycling and put the rest of it in the trash. Bought another brand to replace it.

Ideal UPS Backup Solution-DVR, Modem and Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a reasonably lightweight UPS that would back up my DVR, Cable Modem and Wi-Fi Router in the event of a power failure. I was replacing a Tripp Lite UPS that had failed. I wanted a lighter UPS than the Tripp Lite as it sits in my TV cabinet and I keep adding equipment. Most UPSs weigh more than 25 pounds and this one weighs only 10--perfect. It has several 6 outlets for backup and surge protection and another 3 outlets for surge only. I am only backing up the 3 items noted, the rest, including my TV are plugged into the surge only outlets. The manual states that this UPS would backup a modem and router for about 6 hours, which is great. Having the DVR attached will reduce this time, although I don't know how much. If home when the power failure occurs, I will disconnect my DVR if I know nothing is being recorded--that gives me 6 hours of Wi-Fi to help me from "suffering" through the power failure. I also wanted a new model and this model fitted the bill perfectly-- first made available to consumers in September 2016! This unit has a 3 year warranty and products made by APC are outstanding! I have bought and used several APC products in my lifetime! I identified the specific product I wanted on line and once I decided the UPS I wanted, I checked the Best Buy website, noted it was in stock at my closest Best Buy store (Bloomingdale, IL), then went to the store and bought it--a ten minute process!

Dead in less than a Month

On August 29th it alarmed out cutting power to my computer, mid work and could not be turned back on, immediately faulted out with or without load. Was great while it lasted going to exchange and hope for a better one.

Battery failed in less than 2 months

I came home from a day out last week (8/30) to find the battery with a constant tone. We didn't even lose power. I turned it off and let it charge overnight, however, the tone will not quit. I would not recommend this product.

Poor quality

Battery was dead and after removing all items plugged in, charged for 2 days. Wouldn't take a charge so I emailed company and never got a response.

Worthless

Turns out this thing can’t hold a charge. It’s been plugged in for 1 month. It’s a paper weight. Thank god I can still return this trash.

The 1st unit failed the day after I bought it and the 2nd failed with a month and a half. I've had pretty good results with APC in tne past, but these models are bootleg. Don't waste your money.

Having issues

Failed after two weeks

Fantastically Small and Affordable Backup

It's simple to use (flip over the backup, install the red cable [seeing a spark is okay according to the manual] put the cover back on, plug in items and forget it). I was also very pleased to find out the USB functionality does work for the Seagate Personal Cloud, given this particular model wasn't listed in their compatibility documentation. If any of you have that particular NAS, the USB needs to be plugged into the side port, not in the back.

Works Great!!

(3 times this yr) I bought this because I work from home and remote into another computer. No Power = No Work!! This works great! I do reduce the number of items plugged in but it definately keeps my laptop, the router and my Wifi antennea going for hours! So happy to have it! Easy Set-up also.
