      Hello,

We value our customers and we are extremely sorry about this inconvenience.

The reason for the APC - Back-UPS Pro 1050VA causing a drop in the Wifi router could be due to several factors. One possible reason is that the equipment connected to the wrong outlets on the Back-UPS product, which do not provide backup power. Another reason could be capacity overload, where the total wattage of the equipment exceeds the maximum wattage supported by the battery backup outlets. Additionally, the circuit breaker on the UPS may have tripped due to a severe overload. It is also possible that the UPS has exhausted its available battery power or that the connected equipment does not accept the stepped-approximated sine wave output of the UPS. Another potential reason could be a faulty power supply in the equipment or the absence of APC management software when a communication cable is attached. If none of these reasons apply, the UPS itself may be faulty.

We are encouraging you to contact our Tech Support team through chat or call us at 1-800-800-4272. We will make sure we resolve this for you. APC

We get a lot of power outages and surges in my area. Over time, a number of my electronics were damaged as a result, and regular power strips that offer “surge protection” did not always protect these items. That’s where a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) like the APC 1050VA comes in. Basically, you charge the UPS up and keep it plugged in, and you then plug in whatever devices you want to protect from surges and outages into the battery backup side of the UPS. Your devices will basically be running directly from the UPS, as it continuously recharges itself from you’re home outlet. This way if there’s an outage or surge, your plugged-in devices will continue to run uninterrupted from the UPS power. The amount of time will vary depending on the draw your device takes from the UPS. It can be a few minutes for a desktop and monitor setup to several hours for things like a modem or security camera hub, with the maximum for this one to be generally around 3.5 hours. Some people even use these devices for things like CPAP machines, but I would suggest buying the largest capacity version of a UPS for that for the best runtime on anything like that. In the case of the 1050VA model, you get four outlets for battery backup and surge protection, and four outlets that are surge protection only, protecting at 1103 joules. There’s also a data port and circuit breaker reset button in case a surge trips the breaker in the device. On the front, you have a digital display showing your remaining power percentage, as well as three buttons for Power, Display on/off, and mute, to mute the beeping alarm that goes off when your power is off, and only the UPS is running on it’s own. There is auto shutdown software that can be downloaded so if you prefer, you can connect your computer to the UPS and have it shut down automatically if the UPS sends it a signal the power is out. Total power for this model is 1050 volt-amperes, which is more than enough for most people, but other models that handle more, or less, power are available at varying price points. At just under 16 pounds this isn’t a light device, but it’s not huge physically. It will fit easily on a sturdy desktop area, the floor, etc. These do not use lithium-ion batteries, but instead use sealed lead-acid batteries. These types of batteries FYI, are generally a lot safer than lithium based batteries. I’ve found these devices to last between 2 to 5 years, but it depends widely on how many surges and outages you have. I’ve been using UPS devices for years and swear by them. They’ve saved me a lot of headaches and saved my data when working in the past on my computer and the frequent outages hit around me. I consider these to be a necessary device in many households, and the APC 1050VA is one of the better ones I’ve used so far. I would definitely recommend.

The APC Back-UPS battery (1050 va) provides me with a much more secure and safe feeling for those “in case something and when something happens moments”. I used to own a much smaller back up battery, also made by APC, that was almost half the size and back-up capability of my new 1050va / 600 Watts, but it stopped working about a year ago. I am much more excited and pleased with this back-up battery because it offers me much more in way of useful features. The 1050 va offers power and also protects your connected electronics during power outages. I truly appreciate the improvements and features which allow for more control of the back-up battery and set-up easy. Additionally, the 1050 va is really straight forward in terms of how you set it up, what it provides and where and what you can and should connect to it. It truly is connect, plug and play. I was able to set my system up in just a few minutes. It actually took me longer to read the instructions and safety precautions then to set it up. It has with 8 power outlets, which is four more than my previous back-up battery. It has a large LCD display which keeps me informed of what’s going on with the status of the battery at all times. For convenience, theres a push button circuit breaker that allows you to easily recover from overloads. It has a replaceable battery (my last back-up battery died and I had to throw it away because the battery wasn’t replaceable. Currently I have my internet router and other device connected along with a couple other important devices that I may need during a power outage. I also have my security cameras base and accompanying devices so that if someone attempts to cut my power to disarm my security camera, my 1050 va back-up battery can provide up to an hour and a half of power and security until the power is restored. Overall, I am pleased with my APC Back-UPS battery and the 3-year warranty that covers the unit and the battery along with other connected devices, if they are damaged. I would purchase this again and recommend it to family and friends.

I work from home and staying online during power outages is critical. I do have a generator for long-term outages, but even a brief blip could cost me in lost work, plus it takes 10 to 15 minutes for everything to reboot and come back online. The laptop that I normally work on has its own battery, so I just needed to support my network and server equipment. This consists of a low-profile Windows server, a 4-drive NAS storage box, a cable modem, a 16-port switch, and a router. I also have a DVR with 8 security cameras that I wanted to power as well. Total power draw is around 100 watts, and I only need the UPS to run for 5 to 10 minutes until the generator comes fully online. This APC Back-UPS Pro 1050VA looked to be a good option so I ordered it. The unit itself is about the size of a very low-profile shoe box. It comes with the internal battery disconnected and the attached label show how to open the case to plug it in. I have used many different UPSs over the years, so I am familiar with the process, yet this one was still challenging. The wiring to connect to the battery was not very flexible, and it was short. To add to the challenge, the connectors were difficult to line up with the battery terminals. It seemed to be far more difficult than necessary to connect the battery. Luckily this is not a regular task and only needs to be done with the initial setup, and then every few years when the battery has to be replaced. I like the LED display screen. It can be used to configure the UPS for various options like a silent alarm, acceptable voltage ranges, etc. It can display the current power draw in watts, expected runtime, as well as percentage of capacity. With my system typically drawing right under 100w, it shows a 17% capacity with an estimated 40-minute runtime on a fully-charged battery. The unit is quiet. It makes no noise until the AC power is dropped, then there is a click and a hum from the transformer. There is no cooling fan. Speaking of a power outage, that 40-minute runtime estimate immediately drops to 30 minutes when the plug is pulled. Even with that inaccuracy, it’s still plenty of time for the generator to kick in. On thing missing on this UPS are USB ports. There is an RJ-45 jack that is used for proprietary cable that plugs into a computer’s USB post so that the UPS can be monitored using the PowerChute software (a free download). There are no USB ports for powering low- voltage devices. That would have been a nice option as I have a few things that have to use AC adapters. There are 8 AC outlets on the back, 4 of which are just surged protected, so only 4 are powered during an outage. In my case, I have a wall-mounted outlet strip to power all of my equipment, so I only need one battery-powered outlet. Overall, this APC Back-UPS Pro 1050VA is well-made and does what I need. The price is competitive and the unit is about as compact as it comes for this output level. If the battery had not been so difficult to connect and if it had a couple of USB power ports, I’d have given it a full 5-star rating. Even so, I do recommend this UPS.

Big and Boring UPS That Does It's Job

Having a surge protector for electronics is the bare minimum to ensure their safe operation, but if you want to step up to a better solution that offers not only protection but uninterruptible power as well, then you’re going to be looking at a UPS or an uninterruptible power supply. That’s where a product like the APC Back-UPS Pro BN1050M comes in. The APC Back-UPS Pro BN1050M is a pretty basic UPS unit with 4 battery backup outlets and 4 surge-protected-only outlets. Rated at 600 watts this unit will run with a full load for up to 2 minutes which is plenty long to use the PowerChute software to shut down your PC and monitor when a power outage happens. On top of being able to handle your large electronics, like a computer or laptop, you can also use the Back-UPS 1050 to power your internet modem and wireless router for a much longer period of time. This ensures that during an outage you can still have battery-powered wireless devices connected to the internet, which is awesome. You can expect the unit to power a modem and router for about 3 hours. The unit also comes with hot-swappable batteries, which is awesome for those mission-critical servers or other important devices that require as much uptime as possible. The unit also comes with an easy-to-read LCD display that will give you relevant information about your load, runtime, etc. The other great feature of a UPS like this one over just a regular surge protector is AVR or Automatic Voltage Regulation. This feature will compensate for low voltage or minimize a voltage spike on the fly and protect the equipment connected to the unit. These little spikes and dips in voltage cause wear and tear on the power supply units of sensitive electronics, so this feature is very handy to have. Overall the APC Back-UPS Pro BN1050M is an unassuming UPS that does everything it claims to do, without any issues and without making any noise unless it needs a battery replacement or detects a voltage variation.

I've always wanted to get an UPS for my computers and equipment to help prevent power losses and spikes from outages or other power issues, and the APC Back-UPS Pro model BN1050M has been a great option for me and my power needs. I have two computers that I switch between, a Mac Mini and an extremely power hungry AlienWare laptop, and even if I have both of these computers and their accessories running the Back-UPS Pro is more than capable of powering these devices during a power loss for more than an hour. I was worried that due to the small size of this unit that I would be near to the max use of this units capacity and that I wouldn't have much time to shut down my systems if there was a power outage, but that is not at all the case with this, I am barely using 50% of the capacity with several devices connected at the same time. While small this unit is fairly bulky and I think due to the weight of the battery it helps give it quite a large capacity compared to it's relatively small size. The screen on this device gives some useful information in regards to the battery and wether or not the unit is currently running on battery or from the wall. The nice thing is that the screen will stay off unless you press the button to view it or if something is going on that needs your attention, so if you have this in your room or somewhere else where light is a concern this is not a concern. I've been really impressed and happy with this UPS and I especially like the fact that there is software for the PC that allows you to see the battery stats and the UPS battery stats show up natively on the Mac.

Back-UPS Pro BN1050M Is a solid middle capacity home uninterruptible power supply. This is designed for home PC or routing equipment. Highly sensitive or NAS equipment would be better suited for a smart UPS. The unit is well assigned and moderately heavy. I have owned several APC/Schneider electric products over the years and all have worked well. Battery life will be several years depend depending on usage and are easily replaceable But not inexpensive. This unit has no USB or DC ports on the front but does have eight ports on the back four of which our surge only. My particular use for this unit is a wireless bridge, a security Wi-Fi home station, as well as other fairly low wattage equipment in a shop. Performance so far has been excellent including cold weather down to approximately 40°F. Run time at this lower wattage set up is over one hour. I Also have used other brands, but on average build quality is less and longevity less. In my current set up, I am not using the backup software but previous experience on several windows machines as well as small NAS has been flawless. The Alarm and display are easily controllable and bright. Display can easily be turned off.

The APC Back-UPS Pro BN1050M is the ultimate solution for keeping you up and running during brief power outages or to give you the peace of mind that your sensitive computer and networking equipment is safe and sound behind this relatively compact UPS. I replaced an aging Amazon Basics 850VA UPS from 2017 with this APC 1050VA unit and I am shocked by how much smaller it is! The vertical orientation versus horizontal on the floor is a massive space saving design and the overall size is a least 50% smaller but with the same number of protected and UPS outlets between the two. The APC Back-UPS Pro also features a hand screen that shows you the battery remaining, usage, and other important information about your UPS without requiring it be connected to your computer via USB, which it also offers for a richer set of options to maneuver around with your mouse. Overall, this is an incredible option to go with to protect your modem, router, and computer to keep them all safe from power surges and power outages, giving you more than enough time to safely save and shutdown without fear of data loss!

After being one of "those" people who never understood the importance of battery backup when you have a surge protector, I've been a fan since I've adopted them. I've used a larger (and much older) version of this one to keep my gaming machine from crashing during any sort of power outage. Long enough for me to even be able to wrap up a twitch stream. I was using a CyberPower backup for a little while to keep my network closet alive during power outages but I had noticed a few all out shutdowns over the year or so of using that one. Like I had to power cycle the whole battery backup to get everything back online. It only happened a 2 or 3 times but it was confusing enough to be frustrating. Now I'm using this 1050 in the network closet. Definitely haven't tested it long enough to make sure there are no more of those power faults but if this is as reliable as my trusty old 1350 APC then I feel confident it'll be ok. Setup is easy. It's a battery backup. Standard stuff. Open the battery container and connect the red terminal before anything. Peel off stickers and plug your stuff in. My only gripe about this unit is it's size. It's nice that it's small but it being so small means that it doesn't have extra space between the outlets on the back to accommodate larger power bricks. I had to use an extension cord for my router and modem since they blocked other outlets. The battery backup and surge only sides each come with 4 outlets that are right next to each other so unless they're simple power plugs and not bulky bricks you are going to need some extensions to plug everything in. Other than that little hiccup, everything works great so far. The USB connection to my linux server worked great right away after installing the software (which only took a really quick google to find). I can probably use that connection for some automation that will let me shut down the server properly when the battery level gets a little low but I haven't messed around with it yet. The screen and button controls are pretty standard. If you've used any UPS in the past, you'll understand these. All the standard info is available like input voltage, output wattage, and time remaining on battery. Overall, this is an uninterruptible power supply. APC has (in my personal experience) been very reliable. There's not much else to say here. If you're in the market for a power supply, do some math to figure out how much power you need (and how long you need to keep your systems alive) and if you think 1050 is enough, pick this one up.

I received my APC BN1050M UPS a few days ago and quickly replaced my current aging battery backup. At a bare minimum I prefer to have a quality surge protector, with a battery backup whenever possible at my desk. My desk serves as a charging area for all my electronics as well as my desktop PC. I have my chargers all plugged into the surge outlets with my PC, monitor and router plugged into the battery backup (and surge protection) outlets and everything is working as it should. Like most UPS systems the outlets on the back are a little close together, if you have many oversized AC plugs this will be a minor issue. Luckily I had no problems here, but nothing a little extension cord could solve if needed in the future. The device has a very easy to read screen displaying all pertinent information. For most people I suspect the display of how long the battery will remain powered at the current level of usage during an outage is most important. For us, we have a whole house generator, so really we just need a short bridge from power failure to the generator kicking in. Because of this I figured I could skimp and get the cheapest one I could find after my very old APC UPS needed to be retired. I regret that, as even with only being needed for 10 seconds or so it no longer can hold power that long. I have had APC UPS batteries in the past and I have always found them to be a solid product with a good life expectancy. I'll probably stick with APC going forward. Not much else to say on this device. A UPS is practically required in the modern world to protect your most expensive and delicate electronics while maintaining power when the power goes out. This device is pretty standard as far as size, weight, plug layout and display. I’m giving it a 5* review not just for that, but extensive experience with APC products that have shown me they are a well built and reliable device.

Unboxing the APC BN1050M you’ll find the UPS, an Ethernet-to-USB communication cable, and some documentation. The UPS itself has a very small footprint (3.5” x 12”), a plastic exterior, and a 6’ permanently-attached power cable with a flat plug. Basic setup includes connecting the internal battery, removing the sticker covering the outlets on the back of the UPS, plugging the UPS into wall power, and plugging your devices into the UPS. The front of the UPS features the screen and 3 buttons. The screen is bright and features good iconography, making it easy to understand. On the downside, the display itself is set well behind the face of the UPS making it difficult to read from any angle other than head-on. The buttons are physical and illuminated, which is nice. The back of the UPS features 8 outlets, a network communications port and a reset for the integrated circuit breaker. Regarding the outlets, there are 4 on battery backup and 4 surge protected. The outlets are positioned horizontally, which should reduce interference with other plugs, however they appear a bit crowded side-to-side and could potentially interfere when using larger power adapters. In my testing, the unit switched over instantly when wall power was lost, providing a seamless experience. Operation is quiet. The estimated On-Battery time on the display was fairly accurate and the unit provides ample time to cover brief power outage and/or shut down the devices properly. APC’s software, PowerChute, can be downloaded from their website. It provides a web-based interface, via the communications cable, to manage the UPS and provide automated shutdown options for the PC. While not necessary for using the UPS, it does provide beneficial data and options. Overall, I’m very happy with the APC BN1050M and am glad to have it powering and protecting my media server.

Last summer was rife with blackouts, both unexpected and planned. And after every blackout, there is the possibility of the unwanted surge once the power kicks back in. I have several surge protectors to brace for these spikes, but they don't assist with the other problem, cold shutdowns of my electronics. I've was always intrigued by battery back-ups, but not enough to go get one. After using this model, I'm considering buying more to have all around the house. Connected to this unit, in particular, is my desktop, monitor, laptop, NAS and network switch. I still have surge protectors connected to my odds and ends, but there is definitely better peace of mind for the electronics connected to the back-up. Now, with all the connected devices, I don't expect the battery itself to power me through the blackout, but just having the moments needed to power down everything properly is worth the cost itself. As for time, the display panel on front takes the guessing out of how much I truly have. Less stressful than rushing to beat the clock. Connecting and powering up was simple, finding the APC software (Powerchute) was not. That's my only gripe. Finding the registration page and the shutdown software should be easily and readily available on both the box and the manual. As of writing this review, I have only managed to connect Powerchute to the computer connected to the backup. I'm hoping I can chain it to my NAS and desktop, but we shall see. -Well built and sturdy -Plenty of well-spaced outlets -Clean, easy to read display -Enough backup power to save my work and shutdown properly -Comes with all necessary cables -Once software was running, it was very easy to install and connect -Slim form factor; easily fits into office set-up While I hope this isn't a bigger year for blackouts, at least I feel a bit more prepared.

Anyone who’s serious about computer gaming (or doing serious work) using desktop PC knows how important it is to have a reliable UPS. Also, computer components these days are so expensive that they need to be well protected from electrical spikes and surges as well as blackouts. UPS is the solution. This model is good for stabilizing electrical current for up to 600 watts. My desktop PC runs at maximum of 550 watts with an RTX GPU so it is a good match for the UPS. Latest generation of RTX GPUs will require more watts so this UPS model may not be good enough for them. The UPS works by stabilizing electrical current feeding the computer and it has some juice to keep the computer running for a while in case of blackout. If your computer runs at 600 watts and there is a blackout, this UPS model will give you 2 minutes and 15 seconds to save your work and shut down the computer properly. That's a pretty tight window but keep in mind that if you use your computer for typical spreadsheet/ word processing work, the PC will not run at max power so the UPS should be able to give more time to save your work and shut down the computer. In addition, there is a $250,000 lifetime equipment protection policy, which means if your electrical device breaks due to electrical surge or spikes when it is connected to the UPS, the manufacturer should be liable to replace your device. This UPS is also good for other electrical devices such as your printer, router, TV, etc.

I'm a long term Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) user/believer, and have frequently (though not exclusively) purchased the APC brand in the past for their long-term reputation and reliability. The Back-UPS Pro BN1050M model is the latest I've tried here. Battery life on this model is good for my needs, for the load I planned on using it for, it was estimating over 1.5 hours of battery runtime. The box indicates there are models with higher or lower battery life depending on your needs and budget. I will disclose that over 5 days of testing, we did not have a legitimate power outage, power outages happen but just not that frequently, so to some extent I can only simulate power loss by either pulling the plug or using the menus to read the info. I know from past history with using these types of UPS devices in an outage, that during an outage the one thing I want powered the longest is our internet and phone service, namely our cable modem (which powers both internet AND phone line), and also at least one wireless router (I also backed up one ethernet network switch). When I checked it once the battery was full, it was saying those devices had 98 minutes remaining if the power went out -- that's more than enough time to look up and call emergency services to report the outage/cause. As per my main computer, I have a laptop with a 12+ hour battery, and it will not normally be near the UPS, but it's important that it get internet service as long as possible in an outage (in our case, our cell phone reception is weak for back up internet without standard cable Wi-Fi). Before you get too comfortable with using this for protection, make note that half the plugs in the back (4) are surge protection only (no battery back-up), the other 4 are battery backup. That's a good design because you don't want to have too much drawing on the battery, but probably need other devices protected from surge anyway on the same wall-outlet (one wall outlet powers all 8 outlets on the device). When I first hooked up the battery, there was a spark which immediately raised my anxiety about the whole situation, but I recalled the same issue installing prior APC branded power supplies (some other brands don't have you hook up the battery the same way). Hooking up the battery, it's evident the battery itself is replaceable. The red battery cable connector looked different than the black cable (different connectors) but I confirmed with customer support that this was by design and proceeded. All was fine. Anyhow, I decided to take one star off this rating, and that's because of the spark. I verified that pulling the power plug causes it to kick in, but these UPS devices also tend to kick in during power fluctuations (not just power outages) and I cannot simulate that in testing unless it happened. I can confirm during testing that two of our outlets were detected by the UPS as having a wiring fault (red light on back of UPS), which indicates something is wrong with the outlet wiring. APC has an article explaining why this light might come on, but in our case it's probably a missing ground wire because it's a house with older wiring on one floor. The digital display on this APC UPS Model is very bright and easy to read, the button (on top) on the right lets you cycle through the information screens. It is useful to get an idea how much power remains in an outage, and there is other power information shown. One important button will allow you to silence the speaker/alarm, which if you place this device in a bedroom may be important at night (unless you need to be awakened in an outage) -- when the speaker is off there is a slash through the speaker icon. If you've got a desktop type computer where a power outage could result in data loss (because unlike a laptop, it doesn't have a battery without one of these UPS devices), you're potentially saving that system from damage (and yes, unwanted crashes) in the event of an outage with this. A USB cable is included for that purpose which I suspect would help automatically shut that machine down if no one was there. So, yes, I would recommend this model APC UPS, though depending on your power needs other models may fit your personal usage differently.

This is a pretty consistent and reliable UPS. Its nice that it has a lot of outlets in case you want to power multiple devices, but realistically I don’t really need that many. It also has a few cool features like a software you can download that will automatically save your files and shut down your computer if it detects that there is a power outage. I tried this on a windows computer, an it seamed to work ok, but it has to be on a windows computer and I’m using this mostly for a NAS and my internet modem, router, etc. so the feature doesn’t really help much. The battery size / life is pretty good for what I want to use it for, but if you’re really concerned about how long this can last, know that the minutes listed are purely estimates. My 32 inch tv and PS4 only lasted like 9 min. which should have been longer given that it says a 42 inch and ps4 should be 8 min. I tried my 65 inch and ps4 and it went like 3, but honestly I thought it would be less. My NAS plus internet devices gave me like 2 hours which is perfect since most of our power outages are like 2 min to 1 hour. Overall I’m really happy with this and even though I’m using it mostly for keeping my NAS up and running through power issues, its great to have on hand in case I’m doing anything else where I’m worried about a sudden power fluctuation screwing something up.

The APC is an amazing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) by a reputable manufacturer. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got more gadgets than you know what to do with. This device is essential to protect them and keep them alive during a power outage or brownout. The design of this device is utilitarian in the best way. On the back, it has 8 grounded power outlets. It has a removable battery which is hot swappable so no downtime if you need to replace it. It also has an LCD display on the front which is super nice for checking the battery level, battery load, and run time minutes until the battery is depleted. Speaking of the battery, it has great performance. It’s more than enough to give you an opportunity to safely shut down higher voltage devices like a gaming PC, TV, or a home theater system. Also, if you’re looking to keep some lower voltage devices on like a modem or router it can sustain for an extended amount of time (claimed 3.5 hours). On top of that, if using the physical controls and display is not your thing, it also comes with PowerChute software, which allows for automated computer shutdown, energy usage reporting, and a number of other configuration items. If you are looking for a great UPS option from a reputable company with pragmatic features, this is a great option.

Hook this up to the computers in my office and it works great. Any fluctuation in the power and it adjusts. We had a power outage and it stayed on long enough for me to finish up what I was doing and shut the computers down. I highly recommend this to anybody that needs a battery backup.

Reviews for these are very difficult to provide especially when the products time to shine is when you're needing to lose power. I do have an older APC model battery backup I got 2 or so years ago and is still running strong today. It's essentially why I opted for a second one from the brand. Since I started working from home due to my job having the flexibility of being in office or in the comfort of my own home, I wanted something that would be there should my power go out and at least keep me going for a while. Since I work of a laptop, this product makes the most sense and offers plenty of connections to include my Laptop, Docking station and Monitor. I've not been able to take advantage of it yet as we've not had any power related issues since before I did receive the product. That said, I don't foresee any issues as the one I've been using specifically goes to my Network devices so that I'm not losing internet access. The one thing I do like over my current one though is this model has a much slimmer design, though it is slightly longer. This model also features the ability to pass my Ethernet through it in case anything comes in through the coax and doesn't take out anything past the modem itself. I may switch the Battery Backups duties for that reason alone. When it comes down to it, there's not many companies out there that I trust for protecting my electronics. Nearly everything I have is APC branded. Thankfully I've never had to make a claim for anything being taken out during a surge, but I'm sure that if/when that time comes, APC will be around to help.

The APC Back-UPS Pro BN1050M comes well-packed and shipped right to my door in a Schneider Electric box. I unpacked it, opened the battery door, connected the red wire to the battery, replaced the battery door, plugged everything in, pressed power, and it's charging! The setup is pretty straightforward, and you know you have quality because the Quality Assurance Test results are taped to your UPS unit. Thanks, "T," for testing my unit! Everything works great and does what you said. Instructions are not required as everything is shown on the sticker for simplicity. The UPS is fairly small, so it doesn't seem obnoxiously big like others I have seen and have in my home. With 8 outlets, you have plenty of plugs for protection. It easily fits under my desk and is able to handle my router, modem, PC, printer, TV, and PS5 with no problems. The BN1050M is rated at 1050VA/600W with auto voltage regulation and the ability to tap a lead acid battery when necessary for larger draws or brownouts. Your battery life will be determined by how much you have plugged in and the draw during the blackout. The box says 3.5 hours, but if you are running more than just a PC, you will get less battery life. The recharge time is 12hrs and must be between 32°F to 104°F (0-40°C) during operation. It weighs close to 16 lbs, so plan to pick up the box with conviction if you're used to lightweight Amazon packages. This does what it should, and APC is always my trusted UPS choice for my devices.

Compact enough to fit on a shelf. Being used to keep the router and modem up during short term power outages. If needed, cell phones can be charged during longer power outages. We can even keep a table lamp on for a limited time.
