    APC Back-UPS are always good and with the USB cable installed will allow your computer to monitor and control the UPS.

    I think these are some thing most people don't think about in till they wished they had one. I've been looking at battery backups for a while. And was a little worried after seeing a lot of people complaining about a chirping sound. Thankfully my unit dose not have that issues at all and is very quiet. Some of the key features I like most are the usb charging port on front 5v/3.0 amps, 10 outlets, of which 6 of them are battery back up and all 10 are surge protection. Two RJ-46 date ports (cat5&cat6) for your modem,DSL or fax lines. This unit helps keep my house running in a power outage. I have a synology NAS, SmartThings hub, Cable modem,Wi-Fi router, POE router and a 24" monitor running off of this. I haven't had a power lost let but have just pulled the plug. And it kicks on instantly with every unit plugged in to it you can't tell when it kicks on or off. It dose make an annoying beep to notify you that it on battery power but you can easily turn this off with the button on the front. Has a nice big easy to read display screen on front that is easy to navigate. Tells you things like your load and how many minutes of battery power you have and the number of events/power lost that have happen.
