BN 1350 UPS Requires Repeated Resetting

The unit was easy to setup and initially worked well. The long-haul experience has been that it repeatedly needs to be disconnected from the devices and the power source then reset.

One of the Better APC Units

One of the best APC units for electronic gear and computers. The only complaint I have is the battery connections are difficult to put together on the unit I had. I've had others that were not as difficult. They have 'updated' the connectors from simple ones to some plastic covered contraption. It works perfectly with a pure sine wave once connected. I removed a star for Quality and Ease of Use because of the connection issue.

I like this APC-Back-ups Pro 1350VA with the USB / USB-C on the front to charge my cell phone, easy side door battery access panel, 10-outlet/2-USB, larger led screen than my old back-ups & taller but slimmer, I like this design.

Do you like beeping? screeching sounds you don't know how to respond to? If you have many of these, do you want to run around the house to respond to these things because they wont shut up? I have one in the yard right now because the mute button will not silence it for 36 hours now, still beeping. Another one, smaller model, started screaming, louder than a smoke detector, with a steady tone in the middle of the night with no power outage. I will pay double for one without a speaker. I'm looking for a hack to remove the speakers that I have. I will be speaking to my psychologist about how much I hate these people.

Thank you for taking the time to review our BN1350M2 UPS. As mentioned from your other feedback (BN1500M2), the device's audible tone / alarm was made that way so it may caught the attention of users and address whatever the alarm is, accordingly. You may always choose to have the UPS on mute, however, critical events like UPS error or Low battery condition would still be audible. Please contact us via chat: https://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/chat/ or phone 800-800-4272 if you need further assistance. APC

A Great Choice in Power Protection

APC has always been the first name one thinks of in UPS and this device explains the reason why. It has 6 power backup and surge protected outlets and 4 others for just surge protection for items like a printer. Also on the front are two USB power ports, (a standard and a “c” port) to keep your phone batteries charged in an outage. There’s coaxial in and out connections to protect your cable modem from any surges. I really like the way its bright digital display is slanted up, so when it’s on the floor you can easily read it from your chair without crawling down on your hands and knees. This display gives you information on in and out voltages, total power you’re consuming in watts, amount of time remaining if you lose power and more. But most important let’s talk about how the device will keep you running during an outage. I connected everything computer related on my desk to it, desktop computer, 25 inch monitor, cable modem, wireless router and switch, a total of slightly under 100 watts, and then pulled the power. There wasn’t even a ‘blink’ from my monitor. Since I had turned off the audio alarm (a GREAT feature that some UPS systems don’t have) the only hint was the display on the device now indicated that I was running off battery and gave me an approximate time as to how long it would run my system. According to the readout, it would power all my devices for over an hour. If I shut off the computer and monitor so that I’d just have my modem and router operational, I’d have my wireless Internet available for over 4 hours. You can download free “Power Chute” software and then connect the device to your computer with a provided USB cable so that in a power failure the software should save open files and then shut down your computer safely while unattended before the UPS’ battery runs down. I didn’t try this because I usually don’t run my computer while unattended and the software had many mixed reviews on the Internet. The software is for Windows machines only. About the only negative I could find with BN1350 is while the display panel is lit up, I detected a slight high pitched whine from the device. As soon as the display went dark, the whine stopped and it was totally silent. This didn’t seem like a problem because in normal mode the display blanks out after 60 seconds (although it’s easy to have it remain on continuously by holding down the display button for two seconds.) Underneath my desk, the whine was barely noticeable anyway. Overall it seems like a great device for power backup and surge compression. The thing is built like a tank!
