    BUYER BEWARE

I bought this to replace another APC unit that failed after a respectable duration of service. It popped and caught fire. This is the unit I replaced it with, and the first failed within 3 months to a F06 error which is apparently a faulty weld. Best Buy was kind enough to replace my order outside their typical return window on August 6th. Last night on August 21st, the replacement unit failed with an F02 error. APC has been giving me the runaround for hours. They are trying to claim that this unit does not support gaming PCs. No, it is not over loaded. It is at 20% currently, and can get higher under load, but I have never seen it over 3 bars (60%) load. This is the same PC that was powered by an older unit with a lower wattage rating. It would stay on for roughly 30+ minutes on the battery alone. Both times this unit failed, it killed power to the PC. The power in the house didn't even flicker the first time, it was a clear summer day. The second there was a strike of lightning in a small freak summer storm at the time of the failure. The failure rate seems through the roof and APC does not help their customers. They make excuses. They make claims about compatibility when there is no list anywhere to show what is "compatible" with their backup. They have every excuse under the sun to avoid helping you when your unit fails after only two weeks and two days of use. Save your time, money, energy and computer and get an Eaton.

It's doing good so far, in the past I had used APC and then switched when I bought a new one and it blew the first day. This one so far has been doing what it should be doing.

For the price it can't be beat. Once power is restored everything powers back up as it should. This may seem simple to some but a lot of products do not have this feature and have to be manually turned back on.

Does what it needs to do. Automatically switches to battery mode in a power failure and keeps several computers running.

My PC plays an important role in my life. I am either working or playing on it. And PCs have become more and more expensive. If I have to replace my graphic card it can easily cost over 1,000 dollars. Computer memory is at an all time high price today at the end of 2025. The computer industry is growing AI technology and expanding everywhere it can. Tariffs are on and off and it's impossible to know where prices are headed or what shortages might happen next. Here in Southeast Texas the power grid has become more unreliable over the last few years. It has now become common to lose power during storms. I recently updated my gaming graphic card. My current UPS was unable to provide the power to run it while gaming and I was crashing to the desktop. I reduced the load and ran just the computer from a separate wall outlet and it became stable again. Getting a good UPS backup has always been a good idea but now it takes on a greater importance. The APC - Back-UPS Pro 1050VA is able to provide the power to run my gaming computer. It has a great build quality and replacement batteries are relatively easy to get. The display is easy to read and provides several pages of information regarding the quality of the incoming electrical signal and battery status. It includes both type A and C USB charging ports. There are six battery backup outlets and four surge only outlets. Other surge protection includes network and coax connections. The unit has a wiring fault protection indicator and does Automatic Voltage Regulation of the incoming signal. There is a $250,000 lifetime connected equipment protection policy and free technical support. The APC - Back-UPS Pro 1050VA also comes with a 3-year warranty. The PowerChute software you can download is quite comprehensive. It runs in a browser window and required me to setup a local account and password. Also you can find several How-to Videos online that can be helpful. I didn’t see the need to change any of the default settings. Some of the options are details on the UPS status, configurations for logging and email notifications, shutdown settings, energy management and event logging. The APC box lists up to 150 minutes of runtime. I would assume that is a max runtime since every system and what is connected will be unique. At my desktop the UPS reports 29 minutes of backup runtime. At full load while gaming and that time is reduced to 9 minutes of runtime. My system has a 13th Gen Intel i7 with a Nvidia 5080 graphic card. Setup of the UPS was easy and you have to access the battery to connect it before use. Overall this has been a pleasant update and I have already saved my progress in a Borderlands 4 boss battle that I thought would never end when the power flashed off and on. I do recommend work from home and gamers have a UPS backup system like the APC - Back-UPS Pro 1050VA. It's a small cost for the protection it provides and APC is a leader in the products they provide.

Works really well and it also integrates with linux easily - and can be synced up with multiple machines. Good to have if you leave your computers on all the time - can schedule a shutdown is power goes off.

I live in FL. and we get power up and downs. this gives me flat stable power. we do lose power for short pierids of time. so with a tv you don't lose power and have to restart.

It’s a big power strip that you plug into the wall that isolates your valuable computers from the harsh realities of the current world and electrical environment. Great runtime and an ok warranty. LAsts about 2 years.

This unit is replacing a Cyber Power UPS that failed recently. APC Back-UPS are built much better IMO with better quality innards. And the monitoring software plays nicer with Linux.

Not much to say at this point. This replaced a 10 year old APC Back-UPS and the new one is doing its duty. It is a tiny bit smaller than my older one. My iMac sees the UPS as I would expect.
