    Returned item and i was charged sales tax again for the replacement and item was shipped to somewhere that i am not depite my saying the delivery address is different than home address. Error due to store employee.

    Dead battery

    This unit arrived with a dead battery and would not charge or recognize the battery. Manufacturer has opened a case to try and resolve. Appears to have exceed3d the shelf live of the item while inBest Buy inventory.

    Like so many others, 7 months old and the F06 Error has killed my unit. Never again on this brand.

    Fire Hazard

    I bought this just after Christmas and 4 months later the thing nearly caught fire. Smoke started seeping out of it and a acrid smell of melting plastic filled my room. Avoid this if at all possible.

    Arrived Dead. Great Product. APC quality control is garbage. Power cable on battery outlet looks shredded from the unfinished sharp corners of the crap injection molding job.

    F02 Error randomly shut down , I literally just bought this less than 2 weeks ago and it already failed ... I am gonna try my luck getting a different one.

    I bought two apc backup devices from BestBuy 1500M2 which has been giving a fault voltage not grounded red light on. Electrician has Check the house wiring no issues breakers and earth is correct. 1100 plugged in working correctly no issues or problems red light not on

    An Uninterruptible power supply is essential for protecting sensitive electronic equipment such as computers, televisions and home entertainment equipment. It has been a standard accessory in my household for years. I have at least eight of various sizes and capacities. Not only does it protect your devices, but it can also provide power to them for some time depending on their power draw. I have also made it a point to have a few LED lights plugged into a UPS to provide backup light, since LED lights are fairly energy efficient you can run a light for an extended period of time instead of being in the dark. The APC Back-UPS Pro 1500VA, Tower is the latest addition to my power protection and backup fleet. This unit has an LCD panel which shows you battery status and load on the unit, as well as remaining time left before exhausted. This model has six battery/surge outlets and four surge only outlets. In addition, this unit has coax cable in and out connectors for use with antennas or cable tv/internet modem connection (the old style, not fiber), This unit also has a data port with supplied cable which can be connected to a device which communicates with the UPS on it’s status. For instance, I have a Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) and this UPS can communicated with that device to notify it when power is out and when the battery is nearly exhausted, triggering an orderly shutdown on my NAS which stores several Terabytes of videos, photos and other data. APC always build quality units and the Back-UPS Pro 1500VA continues in that tradition. I highly recommend this unit from the experience I have had with it and other APC UPS products. >>> Pros >> critical piece of equipment to protect your electronic devices. >> LCD status display >> good capacity >> two widely spaced outlet for those AC adaptors that are a larger than a usual AC plug >> user replaceable battery <<< Cons << due to tariffs these units have gone up in price significantly as of late << could have wider spacing on a few more of the AC Outlets.

    This ups is not good. It doesn’t return to power when your electricity comes back on, then dies. After 4 months of minimal load, it will no longer power on. Waste of money!

    Lasted 2 weeks and unit will not power on. No signs of surge or anything that would have taken it out.

I recommend disconnecting all the attached equipment, unplug the unit from the wall, and then disconnect the internal battery. While everything is disconnected please hold the power button on the unit for around 10 seconds. Reverse the instructions to power the unit back up.       Possible reasons for your back UPS not powering on could be that the batteries are not connected properly, the power on/off button has not been pushed, the UPS is not connected to the utility power supply, or there is very low or no utility voltage. To troubleshoot, check that the battery connectors are fully engaged, press the power on/off button once, ensure that the power cable from the UPS to the utility power supply is securely connected, and check the utility power supply to ensure proper voltage at the receptacle.

    Really nice UPS for home or office

    I have worked from home for decades, and I consider a solid UPS to be a critical part of my home office setup. The APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 power bank tower has been a great addition. Setup is simple, as it should be. Just remove a panel, connect the battery, and plug it into the wall. The tower design fits well in my office, where floor space is limited but vertical space abundant. With six powered NEMA outlets and four additional surge protected slots, the Back-UPS allows me to determine what’s critical in the rare case of a power outage (e.g., keeping my router up is important, but I can probably wait to charge my iPad). The unit is so quiet that I don’t even notice it running. The Back-UPS has a couple of usability features that I find very convenient. First is a mute button. I’ve used UPS devices before that beep – loudly – to let me know they’ve lost power. This is great, but makes it really hard to get anything done while the beeping is going on. The ability to mute the alarm is really nice. The second is an LCD readout of how many minutes of power remain at the current load. This allows me to make decisions on what to leave plugged in based on expected outage time and my current priorities. The inclusion of USB-C and USB-A charging ports are also is also great, freeing up two plugs and letting me charge specific devices from the front of the unit. I’ve been using this for several weeks and have had no issues with it, which is consistent with other APC UPS products I’ve had. If you’re looking for a higher-end UPS for your office or a room in your home, this is a great unit.

    Have had nothing but issues with this unit since I bought it. I’ve normally loved APC products, but this battery backup triggers the F02 error code all the time.

    I’ve had APC UPS’s on my personal equipment in the past and also used them where I worked. I wasn’t a big fan of them years ago. The units I tried at home were very RFI noisy across all of the ham radio bands. You might not think that matters if you are not a ham radio operator, but it can affect any device you have with a radio receiver; i.e. garage door openers, wifi, bluetooth, some TV remotes, your AM/FM radios, etc. The units we had at work liked to ‘cook’ the batteries. I decided to give APC a try again with the new models, and point blank I’m glad I did. This APC backups pro 1500 was packed securely and arrived damage free. You’ll find a print out of the QC diagnostic test taped to the unit. The batteries in these units have easy tool-less access. Slide the cover down and pull them out. The batteries were pre-installed, they just needed one lead connected. The UPS comes with a long power cord. The back panel has plenty of power connectors, just pay attention that one side is only surge protected and not battery backed. The other side is battery and surge protected. There is a coax and ethernet pass through with surge protection. One questionable item I found is the use of a non standard USB cable for computer connection. The computer side has a standard USB A connector, the UPS side is RJ45 style. I wish they had used at least a USB B on the unit instead. Plenty of old printer cables laying around to use in case you lose the one that came with it. I installed the Powerchute software on my PC, which had no problem connecting to the UPS. It is however accessed through a web browser if you want to look at logs, setup the shutdown routine or any other functions. It does have a Energy reporting option that will tell you how many $$ worth of electricity the devices plugged into the UPS use over a time period. Overall the software feels dated though. The front panel display on the UPS unit gives you all the basic info, voltage, wattage, runtime battery level etc, all on an easy to read screen. The best part of this new APC backups pro for me is that it’s quiet across the ham radio bands, at least I haven’t been able to find any RFI noise caused by it. In normal operation with power on I don't see or hear any noise. If I pull the plug on the UPS to simulate power failure I don't see/hear any noise. A few moments after plugging the power back in I will start getting noise, I suspect it’s when the batteries are recharging from an outage, but I can live with that. I’m just happy there is no noise during normal operations. Overall I’m happy with the APC backups pro 1500 and glad I decided to try APC again. It’s not quite perfect with the non standard USB cable and browser based / dated feeling software, but gets a solid 4 stars from me.

    Unit Failed after 16 days

    Unit failed after 16 days of use. Returned to Best Buy for full refund and purchased a new unit. I have owned 3 APC-Back-UPS in the past with no problems. My last UPS 1300 unit ran for 6 years before the battery died. Hope this issue was the exception.
