APC 1500 UPS Back Up Battery failure

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery operated for 2 months, then went to run on battery power when there was no outage and into permanent FO2 mode where alarm won't stop. Best Buy past return period, their service department was NOT helpful. Called APC support and they WERE very helpful. Sending a replacment battery. Assuming new battery works longer term, I will update the review.

A few months later, when a bad storm came and shut off the power, I turned it on. Battery was dead even though I've never used it. The machine would not charge the battery even though it was plugged in for hours. I disassembled it to see if anything on the circuit board was burnt; everything inside looked fine. I know the battery couldn't have been dead. I used wires to connect the positive with the negative terminals and got a spark, so the battery had electricity. At least I got a battery I can use for later.
