The reason is bc the Sys would run great turn it off at night get up turn it on in the morning power button will not turn unit on at all. Not to mention this last one keeps clicking and their is not even a load on it. Got another APC same unit same identical thing happen power button dead. Soooo got another warranty and they sent me a sinwave unit well power button is working fine but when I do a test the test fails computer seems like it shuts down when Back-UP is on battery. So calling APC back Monday and see what they tell me. I am hoping my 4th unit will be awesome with no issues.

Good capacity, but doesn't give clean power

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. The UPS would produce a step approximate sine wave while on battery but usually equipment can handle this. If you equipment needs a pure sine wave both on and off battery I recommend checking out our BR1500MS which would be a pure sine wave both on and off battery. Our SmartUPS products would also output a pure sine wave on and off battery.

I have loyally used APC products for many years, but after only a few months of owning, I began to notice a terrible odor in my office that would come and go, it had an acrid, burning type smell. I've spent a long time checking all my PCs, monitors, etc & suffering from cough/headaches only to recently determine the odor is coming from this device. Terribly disappointed. This has caused me issues for a long time before I find this.

Product failure in < 60 days

The menu screen would no longer work and the outlets would not supply power regardless of whether the unit was plugged in or not. I find it highly unlikely that the battery failed. Based on what I read online, there was like some other component failure. Very disappointing for what has previously reliable brand for me (I own a much older APC UPS that has worked fine for years). Please note that there was not even any power fluctation, loss, or surge. It simply stopped working.

Good Battery Life

I kept getting the FO2 malfunctioning error and a loud alarm. I made various phone calls to the manufacturer for help and support to get a replacement but they kept putting me off saying I needed to charge the battery. I wrote the company and still received no help. This is a great disappointment to me and a waste of money. I would not recommend purchasing this brand of Back-UPS to anyone. My experience was terrible.

I am unsure why this was the case as our technical support representatives is definitely trained to handle this fault code very differently compared to the procedures you were told to do and it should have not taken multiple interactions. A case ID / Reference should have been created given the multiple times you have reached out to our support teams, This is an 8 to 9 digit long reference number, we are recommending you reach out to our chat support or to 1-800-800-4272 and give this case ID. High pitched whining noise

Turned it off, unplugged it and promptly returned for a CyberPower UPS of similar specs. This unit was meant to replace a 10 year old APC unit that died, guess they don’t make them like they used to.

Most of the BackUPS units also come with a 3 year manufactures warranty.

I had another unit from another place and it is still working strong.
