    I have several APC battery back-ups and surge protectors in my home, I purchased them after losing a refrigerator and a dryer due to surges in my area. They have done their jobs. This one is great since it has a little more battery power and I need it for some crucial equipment in my home.

    Already have one of these and just bought another one for a different setup. This APC makes a continuous, faint but very audible screeching-whining-sound. It's not the alarm, it's the electronics in the unit itself making the sound. My other one does not do this at all; it's clearly a defect in the new one. Back it goes, and I'm going to see if I have better luck with a different brand.

    Fails shortly out of warranty

    F06 error a few months out of warranty (bad relay). APC customer service only remedy would be to buy another one. I don't reward companies whose product service life doesn't meet expectations by purchasing more of their products. I would understand if it was just a battery replacement, but now the whole unit is useless.

      Thank you for taking the time to review one of our products. We appreciate the feedback and we are sorry to hear about this issue. An F06 or "Relay Weld" may occur when excess voltage travels across the internal contacts of the mechanical relay. As much as we want for our units to last, there are external factors that contributes in the field which are beyond our control. Given that our Back-UPS Pro units comes with a 3yr factory warranty only, and if you plan to keep them longer than that, it maybe wise to opt for an extended warranty. You can extend the warranty of your UPS from 1 up to 3 yrs and they are typically cheaper rather than purchasing a new UPS. Do take note that it will only be applicable when you current factory warranty is not yet expired. Links are below:

    Shuts itself off for no reason

    I have had this unit for less than a year. It has randomly shut itself off on two occasions that I have observed. Connected devices lose power when this happens. No power issues in my unit / building. Load on unit is typically less than 20%. Called APC support and wasted almost an hour on repeating questions , irrelevant questions, and an allegedly broken replacement ordering system. This unit is going to e-waste and I'm going shopping again.

    Failed after 2.5 years.

    Only lasted 2.5 years. Turned off the unit as it wasn't going to be used for 2 weeks. Turned out to be 8 weeks. It won't turn back on. Should have purchased the extended warranty.

    This UPS replaced a unit rendered inadequate as more devices were connected over time. I have only had good experience with APC. This 1500VA model is no different.

    Overall this is the perfect UPS for my Proxmox/Router with my core network switches. With the ability to connect the server to the UPS for battery monitoring and automated shutdown. Also the mute button on the UPS is front and center which is great if you don't want to configure it via the application. For me the fact I got the linux working and detecting the UPS with limits on when to shutdown automatically is a huge bonus as it limits the chances I will have corruption, and with the ability to read the battery state it won't shutdown at the first blip but can power on during smaller outages, of with my hardward connected I got 42 minutes before it decided it was time to shutdown, which is great in keeping the internet alive, though honestly if it goes more then 30 minutes it will be a few hours, but the fact ti will survive slightly longer outages is great. Overall this is a great homelab/workstation level UPS to give you battery survival. This overall is a great UPS to cover spotty power during storms etc. This is a great choice.

    I purchased this thinking it may be a portable power station but returned it after I realized it was a back-up power device in case of power outages. Im sure it works as advertised but I did not keep it to find out.

    Not Impressed, Sorry I bought it

    The APC turns on and seems as if it's functioning however a plugged in computer and monitor will not turn on. My go around is to reset it each time I use the computer. It's very annoying to have to mess with it for 10 minutes just to turn on the computer.

    LCD stopped working, need to disconnect battery to fix, and it just dropped power to my equipment. Will see how difficult it is for a warranty replacement.

    Device has failed after 19 days of minimal usage with no power outages. Cannot return to Best Buy because of 15 day return policy. Followed instructions for installation to the letter. No way to check for failure symptoms because the "display interface" does not work. Cannot power off with power on/off button. Will not purchase this again. Very discouraged with quality.

      Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 UPS. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are facing and apologize for any inconvenience it has caused.

      The F02 is an error due to an overload state of UPS. It triggers and cuts off power to load to prevent thermal runaway. If removing load does not fix issue it is not advisable to power on UPS and it should be replaced.

      Make sure to check equipment rated consumption is not exceeding recommended load of UPS for this unit it is less than 900 W sustained and reactive power is 1500VA which it could not sustain for long. Please also allow buffer for in rush current for high powered power supply and inductive load.

      If load is low but fault does not clear possible cause is short circuit on load or internals of UPS or possibly component damage.

      This UPS would come with a 3 year warranty. At your earliest convenience please reach out to APCbySchneider to troubleshoot the issue further.     I bought two of these. One stopped working within 4 months. The other works great, but it's only 6 months old.

    A terrible product. I bought one late December last year and it completely died this July. And I had to reset it a few times just to make it last this long. Don't take chance on this brand. CyberPower (what I used previously) lasted much longer.

    Unit failed after 3 months of light use

    The unit appears to have developed an internal error whereby it falsely senses the line voltage has cut out, so the battery engages. Then the battery disengages and it goes back onto line power only to immediately flip back to battery. It does this in a continuous cycle. The unit is only 3 months old.
